Wifi sous Gutsy avec ipw3945

Bonjour à tous,

Je viens de faire la mise à jour de Feisty vers Gutsy et tout s'est bien passé sauf pour le WiFi. Dans le gestionnaire de pilote propriétaire, le driver ipw3945 est activé mais pas utilisé. Je précise que j'utilise network-manager et ça marchait très bien avant la mise à jour wink.

J'ai lu sur d'autres forums qu'un autre module, iwl3945 pourrait résoudre mon problème mais je ne trouve pas comment l'installer. Il faut également blacklisté ipw3945 mais il n'apparait pas dans la liste des modules chargés....

Salut,


Voici une procédure qui a marché pour moi :
- installe linux-restricted-modules (apt-get)
- redémarre ton pc en chargeant le kernel 2.6.22-14-generic (le generic est important)
- active le driver dans la gestion des restricted drivers (ou désactive puis réactive le s'il était déjà désactivé)
- redémarre avec le même kernel chargé.

Bonjour à tous,

Ce petit message pour confirmer que la solution décrite ci-dessus fonctionne parfaitement.
J'avais exactement le même problème et les mêmes symptômes avec mon Wifi et ma ipw3945, plus un souci avec le son.

Le fait d'installer les restricted modules pour puis de redémarrer sur le oyau générique a résolu tout mes problèmes. Tout refonctionne comme avant après la mise à jour.

Pareil, après le reboot de la mise à jour : Plus de WiFi et plus de son.

La solution au dessus fonctionne parfaitement, voici le lien APT : apt://linux-restricted-modules

N'oubliez pas d'éditer /boot/grub/menu.lst pour automatiquement booter sur le noyau generic. wink

linux-restricted-modules est déjà la plus récente version disponible..

Par contre comment on redémarre un pc en chargeant le kernel 2.6.22-14-generic ?

0 signifie le premier choix du menu grub (dans le bordel listé après ^^)

Tu change le 0 par un 2. wink (Le 2 étant le 3ème choix.) lol

Quels sont les avantages/inconvéniants d'utiliser le noyau -generic ?
Est-ce plus lent , moins stable ... ???

Ben voilà, pour moi, ç'a pas marché du tout ...
je sors d'une upgrade cumulée (edgy -> feisty -> gutsy) et, assez bizarrement, je n'ai que du generic pour booter (et j'ai déjà essayé de désactiver/réactiver le driver propriétaire puis de rebooter)

Bah ça ne change pas grand chose à première vu, mais j'ai l'impression de ne plus avoir cet espèce de "chargement" dans le tunnel de Valley (E.T. Quake War)

Bonjour,
J'ai un petit problème avec les linux-restricted-modules. On est d'accord qu'ils sont nécessaire pour faire fonctionner la carte wifi intel 3945. Cependant je possède une carte graphique ATI (vraiment pas facile a faire marcher comme il faut sous linux) et la seule solution pour la faire fonctionner convenablement est de désinstaller les linux-restricted-modules.
Je voudrais donc savoir si quelqu'un connait une solution pour installer la carte wifi 3945 sans les linux-restricted-modules?

ndiswrapper n'a pas besoin des linux-restricted-modules ?? Il me semble que la pile 802.11 est dans le paquet restricted-modules non? J'ai essayé d'installer "à la main" la pile 802.11 et le pilot ipw3945 en telechargent les sources sans résultat. La compilation me remonte plein d'erreur hmm. Je vais tester ndiswrapper ce soir.
