Gutsy : Waiting for root file system

Aujourd'hui, sur un PC tout neuf, j'ai installé ubuntu gutsy toute fraiche. L'installation se passe sans souci, au redémarrage le gestionnaire de pilotes propriétaires me trouve mon pilote nvidia, YOUHOU tout va bien. (sauf que j'ai pas de son, mais bon c'est autre chose.)

Je redémarre l'ordi et là c'est le drame : au boot, le système bloque sur "waiting for file system root" et puis plus rien.

Pas content, j'attend un peu et j'éteind comme une brute, ça redemarre et ce coup ci ça marche... Au redémarrage suivant par contre, "waiting for file system root"...

En gros le pc démarre quand il en a envie, c'est assez pénible...

Note : j'ai essayé avec feisty, ça le fait aussi.

Gutsy à vraiment des problèmes avec les disques durs, de grosses régressions.
Le pire c'est que les symptômes ne sont pas tous les mêmes, les causes non plus, et les solutions encore moins.

Peut-être pourrais-tu démarrer depuis le live, monter ton "/" faire un chroot dessus et désinstaller le paquet EVMS (il semble poser des problèmes sur plusieurs machines).

Il y'a des bonnes choses dans gutsy (surtout au niveau d'ubuntustudio que j'utilise) mais j'ai l'impression que c'est moins stable que feisty à sa sortie...

Bon j'ai laissé tourner l'ordi quand il bloque comme ça, et je vois un message du style "Alert ! /dev/sda3 does not exist" et ensuite j'atteris sur la busybox.
Je me demande si yaird (un générateur de initrd je crois) ne pourrais pas être utile ? Je l'ai installé mais n'arrive pas à le faire fonctionner :
je tape

 yaird --output ~/Bureau/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-rt 2.6.22-14-rt

par exemple, pour génerer le initrd sur mon bureau, mais il me réponds :

yaird error: uuid '18cb86a0-84d8-4011-99be-91e5a5fdaf3f' not found (/etc/fstab:6) (fatal)

L'uuid présenté ici est celui de ma partition où linux est installé (partition de "/").

La nouvelle fenêtre qui suit est en fait le fichier dans lequel doit être collé le s ligne suivantes :

j'ai essayé ça en l'adaptant mais pas de résultat positif :

Webcam integrée

La webcam integrée apparait bien via "lsusb" :

Symptômes

La commande suivante "dmesg | grep uvcvideo" renvoi des lignes similaires à celles-ci:

uvcvideo: Failed to initialize the device (-5).

Le module qui gère la webcam n'est donc pas adapté à ce modèle, elle n'est donc pas fonctionnelle.
Résoudre le problème

Il faut tout d'abord récupérer les sources du modules uvcvideo, on peut pour cela utiliser subversion, que l'on peut installer via apt-get :

sudo apt-get install subversion

On peut maintenant récupérer les sources du module :

cd ~/
svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/linux-uvc/linux-uvc/trunk

note: à l'heure où j'écrit ces lignes, la version de révision est le 120.

Entrons dans le répertoire et patchons ces sources :

cd trunk
gedit uvc_driver.c

A la ligne 1661 on rajoute le code suivant:

Ensuite on sauve le fichier modifié et dans la console on compile le module:

On sauvegarde l'ancien module au cas où il y aurait un problème:

cd /lib/modules/2.6.20-16-generic/kernel/ubuntu/media/usbvideo
sudo mv uvcvideo.ko uvcvideo.ko.old

Il faut maintenant copier le nouveau module fraichement compilé dans le bon répertoire :

cd ~/trunk
cp uvcvideo.ko /lib/modules/2.6.20-16-generic/kernel/ubuntu/media/usbvideo

Visiblement, le module usbvision est également nécessaire, si il ne l'est pas déja, on va la charger :

sudo modprobe usbvision

Il ne reste plus qu'à décharger l'ancien module et charger le nouveau:

sudo rmmod uvcvideo
sudo modprobe uvcvideo

Et voilà, un test avec Ekiga (bien choisir V4L2 pour le gestionnaire video) doit mainenant être positif pour vérifier le bon fonctionnement de la webcam.

Visiblement, il est également nécessaire de rajouter une ligne avec "uvcvideo" et une autre ligne avec "usbvision" à la fin du fichier "/etc/modules" car il ne se charge pas automatiquement au démarrage.

De retour après une dure semaine de cours...

Je n'ai pas encore essayé pour la webcam (je m'en sert très peu). Par contre j'ai l'impression que ton astuce pour le boot aide quand même... Je l'ai appliqué et il y'a un petit mieux (mais je ne sais pas si c'est lié).En fait, j'utilise easyBCD pour le dual boot avec vista donc au démarrage de l'ordi j'ai le menu de easyBCD qui propose le choix entre vista et grub. A ce moment-là je laisse s'écouler une dizaine de secondes, puis je lance grub et laisse s'écouler les 10 secondes pour lancer le choix par défaut... Et là ça marche à tous les coups (enfin en tout cas, ça a marché 8 fois d'affilée). C'est bizarre, mais bon je ne fais que constater.

Par contre pour le wifi tu as fait comment ? Parce que chez moi, même iwconfig ne voit pas ma carte.

Il suffit juste de compiler la dernière version de uvcvideo, donc faire comme tu l'as dit, mais il n'y a pas besoin de modifier le fichier uvc_driver.c

je pense avoir trouvé pour le démarrage. ça marche désormais nickel j'ai moi.
tu édite ton /boot/grub/menu.lst
et tu ajoutes au niveau de la ligne kernel all_generic_ide j'ai trouvé ça sur le forum anglais je crois.
je vais réessayer pour la webcam parce que ça marche une fois sur deux !

La commande sudo rmmod uvcvideo sert à decharger le module uvcvideo. En général, quand j'ai ce message d'erreur ça veut tout simplement dire que le module n'est pas chargé...

Donc tu peux charger le module uvcvideo (et usbvision) tranquillement je pense :

sudo modprobe usbvision
sudo modprobe uvcvideo

(note : pour les charger automatiquement au démarrage de l'ordi :

sudo gedit /etc/modules

et ajoute en bas du fichier,

usbvision
uvcvideo

)

(Pour le boot, je teste ça de suite)

PS: avec ndiswrapper le wifi marche niquel chez moi (même en WPA)

Bin ton astuce marche bien, mais j'avais un problème avec k3b, donc j'utilise les pilotes normaux et j'attend 10 sec avant de lancer le boot. Ca marche à  tout les coups...Bizarre
En tout cas ton astuce fonctionne. Je suis en train de faire un script pour automatiser tout ça en cas de réinstallation, si ça t'interesse...
Et la webcam ?

j'ai viré kde pour gnome et du coup, j'ai réglé plein de petits soucis. la webcam ne fonctionne pas avec ekiga mais sans problème avec skype beta. je me rends compte qu'ubuntu est tout de même optimisé pour gnome et ça fonctionne mieux tout de même.
