Et comment je l'identifierais moi ce programme de contrôle d'onduleur que je n'ai jamais installé ou alors à l'insu de mon plein gré ???

Ne fais pas de mise à niveau avant d'avoir viré ce gestionnaire d'onduleur : tu garderais le problème.

Plusieurs moyens de l'identifier :
- tu cherches dans les logs,
- dès que ton proc s'emballe, tu fais un

dmesg | tail -30

- Dans synaptic, "nom et description" tu cherches "onduleur"...
- ou la solution brutale...

Déjà, j'avais oublié le mot "install" :

sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools

et redémarre. puis aussitôt :

dmesg

(complet).
Je dois sortir et ma connexion redevient très instable : à plus, dès que possible.

Franchement, je n'y comprends rien. J'ai l'impression en fait que le bug est totalement aléatoire, je n'identifie pas ce qui le déclenche. Je me suis aperçu que ce n'était pas forcément lorsque la batterie était pleine : là, par exemple, voilà au moins 3 h que j'ai réussi à la charger totalement, et que le laptop tourne sur secteur de manière tout à fait normale, alors que précédemment, j'ai du resté sur batterie jusqu'environ 10 % de charge, avant de pouvoir rebrancher sans déclencher le bug.
Bref, ça me fait tourner la tête ce truc...

  Eh bien ? Si ça perdure, tant mieux, nous avons réussi depuis le redémarrage.

En attendant, laisse tourner en permanence :

pour être en mesure de le copier-coller en cas de récidive.

  Je ne sais pas tout lire dans dmesg, mais sur les trois "error", la seconde est normale, les deux autres m'intriguent.
J'ignore aussi s'il est normal qu'un noyau 32 bits cherche la fonction pae dans un processeur 64 bits  qui en est dépourvu par définition (aussi bien l'actuel que le précédent).
  Je vais regarder dmesg en redémarrant mon pc (également 12.04 32b sur proc 64b)  et je te reviens.

Après redémarrage et dmesg, je n'ai pas ta ligne

je n'ai même pas l'expression "pae" où que ce soit.

  Mais - surprise de taille - j'ai [    0.247891] AppArmor: AppArmor Filesystem Enabled
je retourne dans synaptic... et cette fois, je le trouve, et installé ! Il faut croire que j'avais fait une faute de frappe hier.
Et comme c'est un organe de sécurité

Ok, c'est fait.
Je me demande en fait si le bug ne se déclenche pas à l'occasion de mouvements (même infimes, provoqués par un déplacement du PC) du connecteur du chargeur dans son emplacement sur le PC. Il n'y a pas de jeu apparent, mais plusieurs fois l'incident est survenu en déplaçant la machine, et à l'instant, de titiller ce connecteur le resout ou le re-déclenche.
Du coup, l'énigme peut-elle trouver une solution "logicielle" ?...

OK ! Je ne voyais le rapport, mais j'en entrevois enfin un !
Peux-tu dire précisément  et dans le détail (des captures écran seront peut-être plus pratiques que du texte) comment ton pc est réglé pour réagir
- quand il passe du secteur à la batterie
- et inversement ?
Indique les différents seuils de charge, s'ils sont précisés.

Bon, je ne sais pas trop quoi te dire sur ce passe en brachant ou débranchant, relatif à des réglages. Je n'ai rien réglé, à vrai dire, et mise à part une notification en pop-up et apparmor qui se manifeste, je n'ai pas observé grand chose.

Cela dit, suite à mon observation relative au connecteur, j'ai approfondi l'inspection du matériel, et j'ai découvert que le fil entre le chargeur et le PC avait été sérieusement pincé (fil métallique apparent), et qu'en titillant cet endroit précis, tout le reste du fil étant immobile, je déclenchais ou arrêtais le bug à la demande (j'ai arrêté de titiller quand j'ai vu une étincelle). J'ai "immobilisé" cet endroit précis, j'ai réparé le cordon, et depuis, plus rien à signaler.
Je ne m'explique absolument pas comment une détérioration matérielle au niveau de l'alimentation électrique pouvait avoir un impact de l'ordre du fonctionnement logiciel, mais il semblerait pourtant que ce soit le cas...
Je laisse tourner quelques jours en utilisation normale, et si le bug ne réapparait pas, je passerai le topic en résolu.
Touteois, si un début d'explication rationnelle pouvait m'être apportée, je serais bien content parce que là franchement, ça échappe à ma logique.
En attendant, merci infiniment du temps passé sur mon problème, même si c'était un peu "inutile". Cest toujours rassurant de ne pas se sentir seul wink

Content que tu aies identifié sa source et résolu ce casse-tête !
Comment as-tu réparé le cordon ? Allumette et gaine thermo-rétractable ?

  Ce que je te demandais précédemment, c'était les réglages dans :
"Gestionnaire de paramètres / Gestion d'alimentation"
       surtout les onglets  "Général", "Sur batterie" et "avancés".
Car, imagine que tu sois ce gestionnaire et que, par suite d'un faux-contact, tu reçoives 100 fois par seconde (chaque pic de l'alim 50 Hz) l'info 1 "tension sur secteur défaillante" puis l'info 2 "tension sur secteur rétablie".
  A réception de l'info 1, tu vérifies dans tes instructions si, par exemple, tu dois verrouiller l'écran.

Si oui, cent fois par seconde, à réception de l'info 2, tu dois le déverrouiller. Mais cela tu ne peux le faire seul : tes instructions sont d'envoyer l'info au gestionnaire de droits (apparmor) qui, lui, est habilité à demander le mot de passe de déverrouillage d'écran.
Si non, mon hypothèse ne tient pas. A moins que tu ne doives passer le ballon à l'ACPI (*) et qu'elle-même ne le passe à apparmor.
  Là encore, seul un cador pourrait nous dire de quoi il retourne.

qui permettrait de vérifier s'il y a ou non un cycle répété d'échanges entre les gestionnaire d'alim et apparmor. Et tu rachèterais un câble avant de fusiller un composant de la carte-mère !


  Pour le passage de la 12.04 à la 13.10 (ta question #24), ce qui revient ces derniers temps sur le forum c'est que ça t'obligerait à trois mises à niveau (plus une vers la 14.04), ce qui serait fastidieux et risqué, alors que la prochaine LTS sort bientôt. Ou alors, si impératif : installation depuis zéro.

En tout cas, cette quête aura été passionnante !
  En relisant le fil, je remarque que tu avais envisagé de "démarrer en option acpi=off" dès le #18, donc que tu étais déjà sur la bonne voie.
Si pas déjà fait, pense à rétablir l'acpi.

Il y avait un problème logiciel et nous étions, logiquement, focalisés vers une cause logicielle, et tu as su remarquer un élément matériel en-dehors de ce champ, puis établir la corrélation :

Salut,
j'ai fait une réparation des plus propres possible, après documentation sur internet, avec adhésif d'isolation et gaine thermoretractable à chaque "étage", et contrôle au voltmètre avant raccordement au PC, même si j'étais assez confiant en moi.
Pour ce que tu m'expliques par la suite, ça me fait mieux comprendre le rapport qu'il peut exister entre le symptome observé et la cause détéctée, ça devient logique dans mon esprit. D'ailleurs, avec l'ACPI en off, le problème persistait, mais bien moindre, ce qui pourrait corroborer.
Pour le changement de version, s'il fallait trois mises à niveau, j'aurais directement installé la dernière par dessus. Là, je vais attendre le mois d'avril.
