Pas de Grub au démarrage
Bonjour,
je découvre en ce moment xubuntu 13.10.
Bien que j'ai souhaité que le grub reste 2 secondes à l'écran avant de disparaitre, je ne le vois jamais à l'écran.
J'ai tenté un boot-repair, voici ce que j'obtiens

J'ai même essayé de l'afficher en mode console, mais en vain.
Il aurait pu s'installer au mauvais endroit ? Je n'ai fais qu'une partition unique sur le ssd pourtant. J'aurai voulu m'assurer de pouvoir démarrer en mode console root en cas de problème et donc résoudre ce problème.

Le démarrage de l'ordinateur a été correctement réparé.

EDIT : J'ai proféré une connerie : il faut suivre les indications de marcodel et de jeanjd63 ---> C'est normal : quand il n'y a que Ubuntu comme seul OS dans l'ordi, Grub n'affiche pas le menu au démarrage. Dans ce cas, si on souhaite faire apparaître le menu Grub au démarrage, on ne peut le faire que manuellement (à ma connaissance) en maintenant enfoncée la touche SHIFT au démarrage de l'ordi : je veux dire qu'il n'y a pas de possibilité de forcer l'affichage du menu.

Bonjour.
On augmente le temps d'affichage du menu Grub en changeant la valeur dans;
GRUB_TIMEOUT=2
Après enregistrement des modifs, suivi d'un
sudo update-grub
Pour mettre Grub à jour.
2 secondes d'affichage du menu Grub actuellement.

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

Merci de m'avoir repris : marcodel a raison et ça fonctionne bien comme il dit mais il faut ensuite passer la commande "sudo update-grub" comme l'a dit jeanjd63.

J'avais essayé avec le # également mais ça n'avait rien donné.
Ce matin à force de redémarrer j'ai fini par voir le grub en éclair. Je me demande si en fait l'affichage vidéo ne "saute pas" entre la sortie de l'écran phoenix, et l'arrivée du grub. Du coup peut-être que 2 secondes ne suffisent pas, je vais tester ça tout à l'heure.

Bizarrement ça n'arrange rien.
Visiblement c'est plutôt une question de sorties activées.
Sur ce PC il y a une sortie LVDS, une VGA, et une DVI. Il semblerait que l'apparition du grub dépende également de ce qui est branché ou non.

Tient, un fichier /etc/default/grub sur un Ubuntu installé tout seul sur une clé usb (test de maj de l'OS) la clé seule sur la machine sans hdd branché.
C'est la clé qui fait marcher la machine.

Démarrage de la machine avec affichage du menu grub pendant 20 secondes.
Mettre;
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0 ===> #GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
et
GRUB_TIMEOUT=2 ==> GRUB_TIMEOUT=20
Enregistrer ,et faire la maj de Grub.
sudo update-grub
Rebooter, et voir ce que çà donne...
