Plantage d'écran avec driver Nvdia

Bonjour à tous !
Depuis toujours j'essaye de régler mon problème d'écran qui plante tout le temps mais la souris reste fonctionnelle.

J'ai :
- Driver Nvidia 331.38
- Carte Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
- Kernel : Linux benji-desktop 3.8.0-35-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 3 01:24:59 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Mon écran plante souvent quand je vais sur mon navigateur, et quand je vais sur des sites comme youtube (des sites où l'on a besoin de plus de ressources graphiques) cela accélère le processus. L'écran n'a pourtant jamais planté pendant que je suis en jeu. 

Donc je cherche les logs si jamais il y a une erreur que je puisse régler pour que mon n'écran ne plante plus.

Je suis allé dans /var/log/auth.log et voici ce qu'il y a à l'intérieur du fichier et je me demande si il y a des erreurs (que je ne connais pas).

sudo  apt-get  purge  "nvidia *"
puis
sudo  apt-get  nvidia-current

Oui, des fois, ça peut avoir un bon résultat d'essayer un driver plus ancien. N'étant pas libre, il est possible que le driver propriétaire subissent des régressions lors des mises à jour.
Chez moi, la version 319 fonctionne très bien, tu peux essayer.
Sinon, c'est bizarre ce message qui se répète sur le fait que ton écran ne gère pas la 3D. Je dirais que tu pourrais avoir des faux contacts sur ton câble.

- nvidia-310
- nvidia-304
- nvidia-310
- nvidia-current

Non justement vous n'avez pas essayé tous les pilotes disponibles dans les dépots : vous n'avez pas du tout parlé de celui qui est le seul réellement officiel et fiable : le pilote libre "nouveau" intégré dans le système Ubuntu de base ( que vous vous êtes malheureusement empressé d'écraser par un pilote non-libre forcément perturbateur...).

Pour y revenir il y a quand-même une solution :

sudo apt-get purge nvidia-* dkms

puis

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf

et redémarrer pour voir le résultat.

Mais ça serait assez utile qu'on sache aussi sur quelle version d'Ubuntu vous tournez (car d'après le noyau Linux que vous indiquez ça peut aussi bien être la 12.04.3 que la 13.04.

Si tu suis le sujet, tu verras que le pilote nouveau a déjà été évoqué comme fonctionnant, mais trop restreint pour l'utilisateur qui a ouvert le sujet.
Je note que tu supprimes dkms, ce faisant, tu peux enlever des paquets qui n'ont rien à voir avec le pilote nvidia.

Si le pilote libre intégré "nouveau" ne lui convenait pas j'attend juste de connaître la version Ubuntu utilisée pour pouvoir recommander l'ajout d'un dépot logiciel additif afin de mettre à jour les pilotes libres et le noyau Linux dans leurs versions les plus récentes possibles... en effet les dernières avancées de "nouveau" font merveille par rapport à ce que c'était précédemment.

Tu as raison au sujet de la purge de dkms : on peut l'éviter (mais je me suis un peu laissé emporter par mon élan à vouloir désactiver tout module non-libre du noyau, car dkms ne sert qu'à cela, et comme effet secondaire son abscence pourrait essentiellement désactiver le module noyau de VirtualBox, si toute fois cette autre abhérration était installée).

Personnellement, je suis sur la version 3.11.0-15-generic (Kubuntu 13.10) et je le trouve aussi assez limité. Si tu as un dépôt intéressant à nous soumettre ici, je suis preneur. De même, bien que hors sujet, si tu as une alternative libre à Virtualbox, je suis aussi preneur.

Pour le noyau il faut aller le chercher soit dans les dépots de la version en développement (14.04 "saucy") soit dans le bas de cette page : http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/

Mais si normalement je l'avais, j'ai déjà été sur le driver nouveau avec ma carte graphique mais comme je l'ai dit je n'ai jamais eu de problème avec.
Et je ne pourrais pas faire la commande :

apt-get purge nvidia-*

Sachant que je n'ai pas installé le driver depuis le repo officiel mais depuis le site officiel d'NVIDIA.

Je n'ai plus VirtualBox mais ça plante toujours !
