mise a jour ubuntu 7.10

bonjour,
j'ai fait la mise à jour de ubuntu 7.04 à 7.10. A priori tout c'est bien passé. Viens le moment de relancer. Apres avoir choisi ubuntu dans le grub, j'ai un message d'erreur 2 "Bad file or directory type".
Dans sa version recovery ubuntu fonctionne.
Est ce le grub qu'il faut modifier, est il possible de faire quelque manip ou faut il tout reinstaller

re,
pour info, j'ai windows 2000 (qui fonctionne) lancé par le grub.
Sur le grub ce qui ne fonctionne pas: kernel 2.6.22-14-generic + recovery
Le reste (kernel 2.6.22-15 et 16) se charge mais ecran en basse resolution, impossible de monter les lecteurs etc.....
PS: je crois que c'etais une mauvaise idée de lancer la mise à jour......
