Grub loading puis erreur17 !!!
Salut à tous,
Je suis débutante sous linux ubuntu. J'ai un problème persistant depuis maintenant 2 jours !!!
J'ai installer ubuntu sur un dd usb. J'ai suivi le tuto de comment installer ubuntu sur 1 disque usb.
A la fin de l'install, j'ai chercher à savoir où se trouvait le grub
grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd1,1)
Ensuite, j'ai rechercher mon menu.lst

Ce qui est très bizarre, c'est que hier toutes mes données se trouvaient sur le "disk-1" (icône de mon bureau) et aujourd'hui, elles sont sur "disk" !???
Est-ce normal ???
Ensuite, tout à la fin du tuto, il est demandé de démonter la partition. (Je n'ai aucune idée de ce que ça veut dire !!!???) mais bref, :
sudo umount /dev/sdd1
dans mon cas, je suppose que c'est :
sudo umount /dev/sdb1
Est bien cela ?
Quoiqu'il en soit, quand je tape cette commande, j'ai la réponse suivante :
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo amount /dev/sdb1
sudo: amount: command not found
Je suppose que c'est pour cette raison que j'ai l'erreur17 !?
Bref, voilà.
D'après les infos que j'ai récolté un peu partout sur ce site, l'error17 signifie que mes partitions sont là mais que mon ordi ne trouve pas la porte pour accéder au grub.
Donc, en étant optimiste, je ne suis plus très loin du bout du tunnel, non , ;-)

il faut que tu changes ton menu.lst : le root n'est pas (hd1,1) mais (hd0,1) puisque quand tu bootes sur ton dd externe, celui-ci devient le premier disque (donc n°0).

Parce que son root est le même que celui de Linux, alors !!!

J'ai fait un copier/coller et voilà ce que cela donne.
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo umount /dev/sdb2
umount: /dev/sdb2: not mounted
C'est bon ou pas ???
Il faut savoir que j'ai changer plusieurs choses dans lemenu.lst comme ft me l'a indiqué...
Dois-je faire une autre manipulation ?

je pense qu'il faut que tu mettes (hd0,0) et non (hd0,1), et ce pour les deux OS (Vista et Linux).
Peux-tu nous détailler, si ça ne marche toujours pas, les partitions de tes deux disques ?

quand tu ôtes ton dd externe, Vista boote bien ? Pas de grub à l'horizon ?

Je t'avoue que je n'ai pas encore redémarrer la machine depuis le changement effectué dans le menu.lst

Pour répondre à tes dernières questions, pas de grub à l'horizon quand j'ôte le disque usb. Vista démarre mais avec un avertissement au démarrage mais je le démarre normalement et non pas en recherche d'éventuelles erreurs et cela fonctionne (jusqu'à maintenant) ! ;-) Je epnse que c'est pcq quand j'ai le message d'erreur du grub, je fait Ctrl, Alt, Delete.

Bon écoute, je sais pas.
Ce que j'avais fait pour un dd externe, c'est de prendre l'alternate CD (pour pouvoir installer grub sur le dd externe), d'installer ubuntu sur le dd externe, puis de changer le menu.lst.
C'est tout.
Peux-tu m'indiquer le tuto que tu as suivi ?
Je pense que le mieux c'est de résintaller ?
Ou alors dernière chance, changer

Comme j ai eu le meme probleme je peux peut etre aider....
Je sais plus comment j avais fait mais il me semble que le bios jouait un role.debranche le disque usb ..tu presse f2 sur l invite du bios... et tu choisis le CD/DVD et disque dur en premier sur le choix du boot.
Apres tu boot sur live cd
Apres dans le terminal tu tapes...
sudo update-grub
Moi j avais ensuite une erreur de grub 2 seulement si je bootais sur windows....
que j ai resolu en bootant sur le cd de windows et en reparant le master boot record.
Par contre l'usb n a jamais marche....
