Bonjour,
après avoir fait le ménage de mes anciens noyaux, je tombe, en rallumant ma machine sur l'invite "Grub >"

Bonjour.
As tu essayé de réinstaller Grub sur ton 14.04 installé en /dev/sda1 ?. Passer par les "Options avancées" en purgeant les kernel à l'aide de Boot-Repair, installé/utilisé depuis une session live, pas en session installé comme tu l'as fait ?.
Ceci en faisant ce que la réparation recommandée préconise .
This setting will reinstall the grub2 of sda1 into the MBR of sda, using the following options: kernel-purge
Réinstallation de grub dans /dev/sda1 , en mettant Grub première partie (Placer Grub dans:) dans le secteur de boot de /dev/sda (sans n° de partition) . en activant l'option "Purger les kernel et installer la dernière version" disponible.
Normalement il devrait pouvoir réparer çà .

Merci de ta réponse ; mais pour suivre ta procédure, car, comme mon pseudo"béotien" l'indique, je suis assez limité dans mes connaissances ubuntuesques, je serais très preneur d'un déroulé très détaillé des opérations à lancer.(pour info, je possède une version 13.O4 sur cd)

Alors ,installation de Boot-Repair en session live 13.04 . avec le DVD "Essayer sans installer" .
Voir ici;

Lancement de Boot-Repair en passant par le dash ==> boot-repair .
Dans l'interface principale.
Ouvrir " Options avancées".
Dans l'onglet "Options principales" cocher "Réinstaller Grub"
Dans l'onglet "Emplacement de Grub"
"Os par défaut au démarrage " sda1 Os actuellement utilisé Ubuntu 14.04
"placer Grub dans " sda
Dans onglet "Options de grub"
Cocher ; "Purger les kernel puis réinstaller le dernier" .
Puis cliquer sur "Valider"
Poster ici l'URL du boot info qui sera indiqué dans la dernière fenêtre .
Voila, si çà peut aider .

quand je tape :
sudo sed 's/trusty/saucy/g' -i /etc/apt/sources.list.d/yannubuntu-boot-repair-trusty.list
réponse : impossible de lire /etc/.... aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type.

Ha! oui, depuis que l'installation en commandes à été adaptée pour installer Boot-Repair sur la 14.04 . il y a des petits soucis pour les anciennes versions...
On va essayer l'ancienne commande pour installer Boot-Repair sur ta session live .
Un copier/coller dans un terminal en session live 13.04 ...
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair -y && sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair
Devrait permettre d'installer Boot-Repair.

Activer les dépôts sans être en session avec ton Ubuntu 14.04 , je ne vois pas trop comment on peut faire çà ...
Si Boot-Repair n'a pas accès au dépôt indiqué, il ne peut pas réparer .
Je ne sais pas si c'est possible de le faire en commande depuis une session live .
Je te conseille, depuis la session live, de faire une sauvegarde sur support externe de tes données personnelles.
Çà sent la réinstallation ...
