[Résolu] Disque introuvable au boot (un an plus tard, on recommence)
Bonjour à tous,
Je suis un peu perplexe. Je vous explique :
Depuis 2 an, mon PC (que j'ai monté de mes propres mains) fonctionne à merveille.
*MB : ASUS P5QPL-AM, firmware 00416 (le plus récent)
*HD : Western Digital Caviar Green 500 GB
*OS : Ubuntu 12.10
Ce matin, il refuse de démarrer. Pourtant rien (rien de rien) n'a changé depuis hier (sauf peut-être une mise à jour... mais de quoi je ne sais pas).
Symptômes :
* pendant l'initialisation du BIOS, le disque "broute" (il s'active bruyamment par phase d'une demi-seconde chaque seconde, mais ne claque pas) ;
* la phase de détection dure plus de 30 secondes ;
* le message d'erreur qui s'affiche est "3rd master hard disk error" ;
* si je reset, il saute l'étape de détection, et affiche "Insert proper boot device... bla bla bla".
Pourtant, tout semble aller bien :
* dans le BIOS, le disque semble pourtant bien détecté : en face de SATA 1, j'ai WDC WD5000AACS-...
* quand je lance le PC avec un Live CD, je peux accéder à toutes les partitions, toutes les données sont là.
* l'utilitaire fsck ne signale aucune erreur,
* l'utilitaire Boot-Repair a mis à jour GRUB (http://paste.ubuntu.com/5744941/)
Dans le doute, j'ai essayé aussi de changer le cable SATA, le cable d'alim, puis une remise des paramètres par défaut du BIOS, puis enfin j'ai tenté un Clear CMOS.
J'avoue que je suis un peu perdu... quelle conclusion tirer ? Est-ce un problème de disque ? Un problème de Grub ? Un problème de carte mère ?

Le but : essayer de voir si le souci ne serait pas dû à une mise à jour qui n'arriverait pas à digérer ces lignes "Dossiers partages sur le Grenier" et "Le /tmp dans la memoire vive (accelere firefox)"
S'il s'avère que le pb disparaît, il faudra rétablir la ligne "tmps" en supprimant le # puis vérifier au redémarrage que le pb a toujours disparu. Si c'est le cas, ce seraient les lignes "192.168.1.10..." qui foutraient le bazar.

@Malbo : mille excuses ne avoir pas répondu à ce message, le problème s'est résolu tout seul (le lendemain). Je n'ai donc pas consulté le thread... et je n'ai pas vu ta réponse du coup. Désolé. 
Près d'un an plus tard. Je remonte le sujet. Le fait est qu'après s'être résolu tout seul, il est aussi réapparu très soudainement. Un peu plus d'un an plus tard.
Les symptômes sont les mêmes, et mes tentatives pour le résoudre aussi : live-usb, fsck, boot-repair.
Sauf que cette fois, laisser faire le temps ne change rien. Ça fait une semaine que ça dure.
Quels sont les points communs ? Aucun, si ce n'est (vous allez rire) la température de la pièce où sont installés les ordi. Exposée plein sud, la température à partir du mois de juin n'y descends sous les 25°C. Est-ce réellement importante ceci dit ?
Ma perplexité ne fait qu'empirer... que dois-je penser de tout ça ?
Je commence à suspecter un problème matériel. Mais ... de carte mère ? de disque dur ? d'alimentation ? de ventilation ?
Toutes suggestion argumentée est bienvenue...

Moi ça ne me fait pas rire : c'est bien d'avoir pensé à ce point commun et il est tout à fait possible que la température joue un rôle dans le problème. Mais comme tu as un PC de bureau, tu peux peut-être vérifier cette hypothèse en ventilant abondamment l'ordi en fonctionnement avec un ventilateur externe, le temps de vérifier si c'est vrai que la température a une influence sur la chose.
EDIT : si ton hypothèse température tombe à l'eau, tu peux essayer ma suggestion du post #2 ("commenter" les lignes "192.168.1.10" de ton fstab)

Merci pour ta réponse.
Si ça te semble une bonne piste, alors je vais déplacer la tour dans une pièce plus fraîche pour voir... je te tiens au courant (cette fois ci).
Sinon, autre symptôme. Bizarre, pas très intéressant, mais à ce compte la, on ne sait jamais : l'ordre de boot ne tient pas compte de la séquence sélectionée dans le BIOS. Pour lancer le live-usb, il faut passer le menu spécifique (F8, carte ASUS) "BBS Popup", pour choisir à la volée de démarrer sur la clé.
Edit :
Pour ton hypothèse fstab, je vois bien l'intérêt en théorie, mais dans la mesure où le boot n'accède même pas à GRUB, ça me semble prématuré. Le problème n'est-il pas à chercher en amont ? Genre dans un blocage matériel ? Ou un MBR corrompu ? Enfin, bon. Je n'ai rien à perdre à tester.

Bon. Soyons concrets. Comment faire la distinction entre un un défaut de la carte mère et un défaut du disque dur ?

Et ben suivant ce que dit smartmontools au : 193 Load_Cycle_Count .... Il devra passer en DD de sauvegarde et en acheter un nouveau, blue ou mieux un black. Enfin tout est dans le lien que j'ai donné au #7.
Quand j'ai découvert le binz, le mien était déjà à ~ 190'000, il est devenu mon DD de sauvegarde et à été remplacé par un WD black.

Tout simplement en démontant le disque.
Si le problème persiste avec une clef live ou avec un autre disque supportant un OS Linux et fonctionnel sur une autre carte-mère, c'est que le problème ne provient pas de ton Caviar Green.
Mais s'il ne persiste pas, c'est bien ton WD caviar green qui est à réformer.

Bon bon bon. Effectivement, comme le suggère moko138, j'ai fini par prendre mon tournevis pour démonter tout ça. Et ben, dans une autre tour, le problème se pose exactement pareil. Donc, voilà il semble que tout se passe autour du disque.
D'autant que l'explication de fnc50 tient plutôt bien la route. J'ai bien un WD Caviar Green, qui en plus de date de 2008. Il a donc largement eu le temps d'exploser sa durée de vie à cause de ce problème de parquage des têtes. Les symptômes correspondent : le bruit qu'il fait évoque bien un problème matériel, il fonctionne bien en disque d'appoint mais pas en disque système. Pourquoi d'ailleurs ? Je ne comprends pas la différence, toute explication est bienvenue.
Tout ceci me rassure, j'ai enfin une explication rationnelle !
Il me faut maintenant changer de disque. Je peux donc considérer tout ceci comme résolu. Mille mercis à tous !
Puis-je me permettre de poser une question subsidiaire ?
Si j'ai bien compris, les WD Caviar Green sont dont à éviter sous Linux. Je ne suis pas particulièrement attaché à ce modèle ou à cette marque, mais je suis par contre plutôt à cheval sur le silence de la machine. Et le WD Caviar Green était plutôt très bon question discrétion. Vers quel autre modèle puis-je m'orienter en remplacement ?
Si je décide de m'orienter vers un SSD (un 120 Go me suffirait largement), il y a des modèles à privilégier en particulier ?

Et aussi pour y mettre un O.S. Windows, même si WD a modifié ses préconisations entre février 2013 et juin 2014 (cf. fin de ce message ./viewtopic.php?pid=17243801#p17243801 et le lien inclus).
