[Résolu] Bureau ne fonctionne plus (Xubuntu 14.04)

Bonjour à tous !

J'espère poster dans la bonne section.

Il y a quelques semaines (je ne me souviens pas avoir fait de manipe particulière auparavant) mon bureau a cessé de s'afficher: un fond gris a remplacé le fond d'écran (qui n'est bien sûr plus modifiable) et les icônes du bureau ne s'affichent plus. Il est aussi impossible de faire de clic droit sur le bureau.
En revanche les panneaux et Docky fonctionnent normalement.

Lorsque le souci est apparu j'étais en 12.10. J'ai fait une MaJ en 14.04 à partir du gestionnaire de mises à jour mais le souci persiste à la différence que le fond gris a été remplacé par le fond par défaut de Xubuntu 14.04, celui qui s'affiche à l'écran de connexion.

merci de mettre le retour de ces commandes entre des balises code c'est l'icone <> au dessus de la zone de texte voir l'exemple ci dessous

visiblement tout ça est ok sauf pour tes ppa tu en as beaucoup et soit ils sont inactif soit ils pointent vers des anciennes versions,
mais ça n'explique en aucun cas ton souci
pour changer ton fond tu fais bien
menu → Tous les paramètres → Bureau
de la tu peux choisir le fond, les icones, etc…

Oui c'est bien ce que je fais, même résultat si je sélectionne une photo comme fond d'écran avec l'explorateur de fichiers.

En fait c'est comme si le bureau n'existait plus, impossible de faire quoi que ce soit dessus avec la souris. J'ai essayé quelques trucs en mode bourrin dans le terminal pour essayer de redémarrer le processus s'occupant du bureau mais sans le trouver.

on va essayer en ligne de commande en admettant que tu as une image dans $HOME/Images/wallpapers/image.jpg (donc le chemin est à adapter à ton cas)

xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -p "/backdrop/screen0/monitorLVDS/workspace0/last-image" -s $HOME/Images/wallpapers/image.jpg

J'ai entré cette commande (en mettant bien un chemin valide à la place de $HOME/Images/wallpapers/image.jpg) mais elle ne renvoie rien et le bureau reste inchangé.

En revanche je ne sais pas si c'est normal mais je n'ai pas de dossier /backdrop (j'ai vérifié avec l'explorateur et avec un ls)

oui c'est normal c'est un chemin du système, on va essayer de trouver celle qui convient

grep monitor .config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-desktop.xml

alors vu que LVDS ne fonctionne pas on va essayer avec 0 et 1 comme indiqué dans ton retour

si ça fonctionne c'est bon, sinon on test

Il me semble que ces commandes ont pour but de changer le fond d'écran du bureau, or ce n'est que l'une des fonctions du bureau qui ne marche pas. Le problème est plus large

oui c'est bien ce que je vois la mise à niveau n'a pas été correctement réussi, la solution la plus simple surtout si tu as un home séparé,
serait de refaire une réinstallation de la 14.04, si ton home n'est pas séparé, tu peux toujours le faire en suivant cette procédure

dans tous les cas sauvegarde bien toute tes données avant de commencer quoi que ce soit, on ne sait jamais une erreur est vite faite.

Le fait est que le problème est apparu avant même la (les) mises à jour, lorsque j'étais en 12.10. Et il a persisté après les maj.

J'ai déjà essayé une réinstall la semaine dernière mais j'ai eu droit à plusieurs "EDD: Error 0100 reading sector [...]" après avoir booté sur le CD. Dois-je ouvrir un nouveau topic pour ce souci ?

tu as essayé avec une clé usb ça évite les erreurs de gravure je te conseille unetbootin

Bizarrerie totale, en redémarrant aujourd'hui tout est entré dans l'ordre. Pourtant je n'ai fait aucune MaJ, rien de particulier auparavant.

Merci pour l'astuce de la clé, j'avais déjà préparé la clé USB pour la réinstallation, je mets la main dans le cambouis si le bug réapparaît !

EDIT: Le bug est revenu au redémarrage suivant. J'ai beau être un éternel noob, mon intuition de départ était vérifiée: le processus en charge du bureau ne se lançait jamais. En effet après le redémarrage miraculeux, j'en ai profité pour faire un top et j'ai vu le processus xfdesktop qui était absent auparavant.
J'ai donc mis xfdesktop dans la liste des processus à lancer au démarrage et mon problème est réglé (quoique le bureau ne s'affiche pas très vite).

Même problème avec une 15.04, résolu en supprimant le lien symbolique xubuntu-wallpaper.png dans /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops. Il semblerait que l'application ne le considère pas comme un lien symbolique mais cherche à l'afficher comme un fichier image.
