[Résolu] UBUNTU 14.04.1 / WINDOWS 8.1 Up1 sur HP SPECTRE 13 x2 ?

Bonjour,

Je voudrais vous apporter mon témoignage sur l'installation réussie de UBUNTU 14.04.1 LTS sur mon tout nouveau Ultrabook hybride - le HP Spectre 13-h201ef en double boot avec Windows 8.1 Update 1, les deux en 64-bit.

Cet Ultrabook HP est entièrement compatible avec les systèmes d'exploitation - Libre UBUNTU 14.04.1 et - Propriétaire Windows 8.1 Update 1 ainsi qu'avec les applications (libres et propriétaires) destinées à ces deux OS et de très nombreux périphériques.

Bien entendu, comme toujours sur un ordinateur récent et une distribution Linux tout aussi récente, il faut peaufiner après installation son Ubuntu pour qu'il donne entière satisfaction.

Comme je l'écrivais précédemment, il faudrait modifier le Tutoriel Boot-Info qui n'est plus à jour - voire dangereux - mais voir aussi du côté de la fiabilité de Boot-Info.

Celui-ci m'a carrément fait geler mon Ultrabook quand j'ai voulu quitter le terminal par exit. Je n'avais plus la main.

Comme je n'ai pas voulu l'éteindre comme une brute et après divers essais:

Moi je ne propose jamais d'utiliser cette page de la doc parce qu'elle mentionne Linux Secure et Boot-Repair-Disk qui sont deux machins obsolètes (je propose ma procédure simplifiée pour faire un Boot-Info). Mais pour ma gouverne, pourrais-tu préciser quels sont les endroits de la doc Créer un rapport Boot-Info qui seraient à modifier et si tu peux proposer ce qu'il faudrait mettre à la place, ce serait bien. Qu'est-ce qui te parait dangereux ?

Quant à la fiabilité du Boot-Info, le concepteur de Boot-Repair n'a plus le temps de maintenir correctement son bébé et c'est ça le souci. La doc pas à jour, c'est la partie visible de l'iceberg.

Il apparaît que la priorité de boot est sur Ubuntu puisque Boot0002 est en tête à la ligne BootOrder.
Peux-tu confirmer que ton ordi démarre par défaut sur Ubuntu comme le laisse croire cet extrait ? Sinon (si ton ordi démarre par défaut sur Windows 8) faut-il que tu presses la touche F9 au démarrage pour aller dans le Boot Menu et sélectionner "ubuntu" quand tu veux aller sur Ubuntu ?

Par ailleurs, je note que tu as laissé "Secure Boot" activé comme on voit dans cet extrait ("SecureBoot enabled") :

Ce qui est nouveau depuis la version 14.04.1 de Ubuntu, c'est qu'il n'est plus besoin de modifier quoi que ce soit dans le BIOS (U)EFI de la machine d'origine sous Windows 8.1 avec HDD ou SSD GPT, comme si l'on avait un BIOS Legacy (Windows 7 et antérieur) !

Pour l'instant comme je n'ai pas encore pris mon café ce matin, je vais faire simple, puis je reviendrai après le petit déjeuner.

Tu t'es déjà répondu car ta procédure simplifiée pour faire un Boot-Info sous Ubuntu 14.04 est à jour pour cette version et attire très bien l'attention de ce qu'il faut et ce qu'il ne faut pas faire.

Alors qu'ici dans la doc Créer un rapport Boot-Info c'est sans filet.
D'ailleurs il est indiqué en entête: "Selon les tags présents sur cette page, celle-ci est ancienne et ne contient plus d'informations sur une des versions supportées d'Ubuntu. Apportez votre aide…"

Il faudrait qu'avec Yann vous vous mettiez d'accord pour harmoniser LE post concernant ce sujet qui sera épinglé en début de la section Installation d'Ubuntu.

UBUNTU 14.04.1 (ISO USA) amène son lot d'améliorations:
- Je n'ai fait aucun changement dans l'EFI (BIOS) de mon PC.
- Donc, oui Secure Boot est toujours activé.
- Oui, je boote directement sur GRUB 2 sans avoir à actionner quelle touche que ce soit mis à part celui de M/A (Power).
- Si par contre je veux lancer Windows 8.1, alors après l'affichage de GRUB 2, je choisis la 3ème ligne c'est à dire Windows Boot Manager (sur /dev/sda2).

C'est une info majeure pour moi. Jusqu'ici tous les ordis HP préinstalllés Windows 8 que j'ai vu sur ce forum et sur le forum anglais étaient bridés et même si Ubuntu était en priorité de démarrage dans l'UEFI, l'ordi continuait à démarrer par défaut sur Windows 8. J'ai toujours vu qu'il était impératif d'utiliser la touche F9 au démarrage pour qu'un ordi HP accepte de démarrer sur autre chose que Windows 8. Ton expérience sur ce point est exceptionnelle.

EDIT : par ailleurs dans le post #4, je te demandais ce qui te paraissait dangereux (c'est toi qui a parlé de danger dans le post #3) dans la doc Créer un rapport Boot-Info. Tu me réponds en disant qu'il faut faire la mise à jour du doc mais tu ne me dis pas ce qui est potentiellement dangereux. Je supposais que c'était le paragraphe Étape 2 qui pouvait contenir des commandes inadaptées à Ubuntu 14.04.1 mais je viens de tester en simulation avec VMware Player et ça marche bien. Aussi, je ne sais pas où serait le danger. Peux-tu préciser ?

Ce qui est exceptionnel, c'est toi !

Peut-être que ce bon comportement est lié à la version 14.04.1. C'est la première fois que je l'installe.

Mais la 14.04 était pareil sauf qu'après une semaine d'utilisation Windows 8 m'avait mis le bazar.
Et après la mise en application de ta solution, le comportement était redevenu en tout point similaire avec démarrage direct sur GRUB 2.
Pour mémoire: [Résolu] Dual-Boot UBUNTU 14.04 - W8.1 / MBR-BIOS et GPT-UEFI BIOS

Donc, pour les PC HP sous Windows 8.1 (EFI - GPT), ce bon comportement n'est pas vraiment nouveau...

Là je suis bien obligé de reconnaître ma perte de mémoire puisque je ne me souvenais plus de ce cas que tu cites. Je suis tellement persuadé que HP bride volontairement l'UEFI de ses ordis que je propose régulièrement au utilisateurs de HP de se contenter de la touche F9 au démarrage. Désormais, quand je tomberai sur un utilisateur HP, il faudra que je lui demande à chaque fois d'essayer de mettre la priorité de démarrage sur Ubuntu pour avoir le menu Grub au démarrage.

ATTENTION "GROSSE M E R D E" devant, voire plus, signalé et confirmé:
le couple LiveUSB Creator et FEDORA !   

Je suis extrêmement remonté contre ce binôme de daubes qui s'attaque délibérément contre au moins UBUNTU.
FEDORA a décidé de faire grand tord à UBUNTU ! C'est normal entre gens du même bord, n'est-ce pas ? !

Je devais dépanner quelqu'un qui n'arrivait pas à booter sur sa clé LiveUSB Fedora.

Qu'à cela ne tienne, je me suis dis que j'allais créer une clé LiveUSB Fedora 20 sous Windows 8.1 en suivant les recommandations de FEDORA. Voir les deux liens ci-dessus ?
Tout a bien fonctionné et j'ai pu dépanner la personne MAIS c'est moi qui me suit retrouvé dans la mouise profonde !

LiveUSB Creator a tout simplement détruit - effacé mon GRUB 2 et donc plus de UBUNTU en double boot avec Windows 8.1. Mais comme ce logiciel de "m e r d e" est sympathique, il m'a quand même laissé mon Windows.

Il ne me reste plus qu'à essayer de réparer mon GRUB 2 parti en vacances sans avoir déposé une demande de congé. 
Je vous tiens au courant dès que réparé.

P.S.: INTERDISEZ-VOUS d'utiliser "LiveUSB Creator", une daube au cube de première, qui ne respecte rien et personne. Ainsi, vous vous mettrez à l'abri de la très désagréable expérience qui vient de m'arriver cet après-midi...

Bon me revoilou...

J'ai réussi à régler mon problème de GRUB2 UBUNTU 14.04.1 qui avait purement et simplement disparu des radars de mon HP Spectre 13 x2 sans aucune annonce préalable suite à l'installation sous Windows 8.1 Update 1 de cette "GROSSE M E R D E" de LiveUSB Creator, Création avec cet utilitaire d'un LiveUSB de FEDORA 20 , puis Test de FEDORA 20 en mode Live uniquement sur mon HP Spectre.

Ne me demandez pas comment et pourquoi ces deux emmanchés de première ont supprimé mon GRUB 2, mais ils l'ont fait !

Je finis les tests approfondis de mon Dual boot - retrouvé - de Windows 8.1 Update 1 / Ubuntu 14.04.1 et je reviens vous dire comment j'ai pu résoudre assez simplement le problème...

Oui c'est prévu, bien que sur le forum Fedora - que je n'aime pas outre mesure - il y a beaucoup trop de sectaires et d'ayatollahs, mais que quand mon problème sera résolu à 100% car pour le moment je joue au yoyo.

La réparation de mon GRUB 2 ne tient pas pour l'instant dans le temps malgré un sudo grub-install fait avec succès de l'intérieur de Ubuntu 14.04.1.

Je vais générer un rapport Boot-Info avant de réparer à nouveau Grub 2 et le poster ici pour voir ce que tu en penses...

Rebonjour,

Donc comme je n'ai plus accès qu'à WIndows 8.1, au démarrage de mon HP Spectre 13 x2:
- ECHAP puis F9
- Dans la liste affichée des 3 entrées, je choisis Ubuntu (SAMSUNG ....)
- Ce qui m'affiche le menu Grub 2
- Là je clique sur la 1ère entrée Ubuntu qui me lance bien l'OS

Maintenant avant de tenter de réparer Grub 2 avec sudo grub-install, je fais un Boot-Info de l'intérieur de Ubuntu.

Et toujours le même problème comme signalé plus haut dans ce sujet: Boot-Repair / Boot-Info bloque mon PC.

Il faut jouer en tentant d'ouvrir un autre terminal pour essayer de reprendre la main.

Alors, je vais voir si je peux allez plus loin sans avoir à forcer un reboot sauvage...

C'est peut-être implicite mais est-ce que tu as bien retrouvé ton fonctionnement d'avant le drame, c'est à dire démarrage par défaut de l'ordi sur le menu Grub (ce que tu as décris dans le post #7) ?
