apt-get update ne met plus vraiment à jour ?
Bonjour,
avant j'étais sous 14.04, j'avais des mises à jour de paquet quasiment tous les jours.
Je me suis acheté un nouveau portable il y a trois semaines que j'ai décidé de mettre sous 14.10 pour avoir un noyau récent, et chose très étrange, je n'ai jamais de paquets à mettre à jour.
Quand je fais apt-get update, tout semble se passer correctement, mais ce qui est étonnant c'est que j'ai des vitesses supersoniques rapportées style 24 Megas par seconde ! Je soupçonne qu'au lieu de se mettre à jour apt-get ne va faire que lire un cache.....
apt-get upgrade ne trouve jamais de paquets à mettre à jour.
J'ai essayé de trouver des commandes pour forcer une vraie mise à jour, mais ça ne change rien.
Quelqu'un aurait une idée ?

elle sert à actualiser la LISTE des dépôts pour vérifier s'il y a des mises à jour.
Pour effectuer les mises à jour, la commande est

Je me permettais de sortir le résultat de apt-get update car c'est probablement de là que vient le problème, je suppose.

Tu dis
j'ai décidé de mettre sous 14.10 pour avoir un noyau récent,
mais avoir un noyau récent n'est pas une fin en soi. Nous somme nombreux à tourner encore sur le noyau 3.2. La 14.04 LTS te donnait le 3.13.
Garde les versions intermédiaires pour quand tu auras plus de bouteille. De toute façon, elles ne sont maintenues que 9 mois.
Outre une version intermédiaire, tu as beaucoup de ppa, ce qui est encore un facteur de stabilité de moins.
Et pourquoi ajouter tous ces ppa sans les dépôts "partner" ? C'est un choix qui peut se justifier, mais dans ton cas, on dirait que c'est involontaire.
En attendant que tu acquières les réflexes d'un usager chevronné, j'estime que c'est une LTS qu'il te faut, et un peu de promenade dans la Doc de notre site.

Attention vjau, la 14.10 n'est pas une version a long terme, utilisez cette version sous-entend que tu devra migrer de version tous les 6 mois (c'est a dire passer en 15.04 en Avril 2015 puis en 15.10 en Octobre 2015 etc...), si tu veux avoir constamment les mises a jour sans changer de version d'Ubuntu, il faut utiliser une version a long terme (LTS), la dernière est la 14.04 qui continuera a recevoir les maj jusqu’à 2019 alors que par exemple la 14.10 s’arrêtera en Juillet 2015.
Ce n'est pas génant de rester avec un vieux noyau car par exemple même le noyau 3.2 de la version 12.04 ou Debian 7 continu a recevoir des maj de sécurité en cas de faille découverte dessus, l'intérêt d'un noyau récent c'est si par exemple tu as du matériel très récent et qui pose problème de reconnaissance avec un vieux noyau.

Apparemment "vjau" vient d'installer sa version (inscription aujourd'hui) ,or dans la Doc rien n'avertit au départ que c'est mieux de prendre une LTS ,si l'on recherche "téléchargements ubuntu" on tombe automatiquement sur la dernière soit la 14.10.

Bon, alors si j'ai mis la version 14.10 c'est parce qu'avant j'étais en version 14.04 LTS et que sur mon nouveau portable le touchpad ne fonctionnait pas, donc avant de soumettre un bug à Ubuntu il m'a paru logique de mettre la dernière version avec le dernier noyau. Pour info, ça n'a pas résolu mon problème, et après avoir essayé le 3.18 vanilla, je suis actuellement la version dans les dépôts et je communique avec le mainteneur du driver pour mon touchpad avec qui on essaye de trouver une solution.
Pour le choix des dépôts, j'utilise le ppa de google pour chrome, le ppa de mongo pour mongo, le ppa de wine pour wine, deux ppa très classiques pour java et node, et enfin deux ppa mono-logiciels pour des petits logiciels que sont zeal et i-nex, et je vais d'ailleurs virer i-nex car je n'en ai plus besoin. Je n'ai pas mis les ppa partner parce que mon but ce n'est pas d'avoir le plus de ppa possibles, mais juste ceux dont j'ai besoin pour l'utilisation que j'ai de linux, c'est à dire du développement d'une application métier en node/meteor/mongo.
Voilà pour ma vie, par contre tout ça ne fait pas vraiment avancer mon problème

vjau, avais-tu d'abord testé la version des dépôts pour java et pour wine ?
