install pilote Lan (P5Q Asus) [resolu]

bonjour, (je suis un vrai debutant)

je n'arrive pas avoir de connexion internet sous Ubuntu (Heron 8.04) par le biais de mon cable ethernet sur ma neufbox. le tout fonctionne pourtant sous XP. je ne vois pas les LED de mes ports s'allumer et j'en ai donc deduis que ma prise LAN n'etait pas activer sous Ubuntu.

Solution :

1) I installed ubuntu hardy, i has build-essential package installed (installer également les "headers" du noyau utilisé)
2) Then i downloaded the linux driver from: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?product=1&SLanguage=us-en&type=map&model=P5KPL-CM
(as per my original post)
3) I then transfered the driver via usb stick to my laptop and unpacked the zip. (Actually i unpacked it on windows first as it has a .rar file that i could not unpack on linux Then i packed it up again on windows).
4) cd into <HOME_DIR>/LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src
5) then i ran: sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make
6) then i ran: sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make install
7) that worked and put a driver in /lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/kernel/drivers/net/atl1e/at1le.ko
8 ) i cd into that director and i run: sudo insmod ./atl1e.ko

En revanche il n'est pas expliqué comment charger le module au démarrage, en cherchant un peu -> il suffit de rajouter le nom du module (sans l'extension .ko) dans le fichier /etc/modules.conf (à ouvrir avec sudo)

Et enfin pour ceux qui comme moi n'avais pas leur carte réseau configurée, puisque non détecté à l'installation, il faut renseigner les fichiers /etc/network/interfaces et /etc/resolv.conf

honnetement je lutte la, j'essaye de faire ce qu tu me dis tout seul mais je bloque.
j'ai downloader le pilote que tu m'as indiqué directement sur mon DD en commun avec Ubuntu, du coup je sais pas trop comment faire ensuite.

1° Installer le paquet build-essential
2° Télécharger le pilote et le dézipper
3° Aller dans le répertoire "LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src" avec une console
4° Lancer "sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make"
5° Lancer "sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make install"
6° Aller dans /lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/kernel/drivers/net/atl1e/at1le.ko
7° Lancer "sudo insmod ./atl1e.ko"

bonjour,

Desolé de ne pas avoir repondu plus tot, j'ai été occupé a nettoyer le portable de ma chérie que j'avais moi meme vérolé big_smile, et bien en plus...(d'ailleurs a ce sujet je conseille le forum bibou0007.com ou j'ai trouvé une aide rapide et claire, des linuxiens si j'en crois le logo du forum).

Pour te repondre citronbleu, si il cela t'interresses toujours c'est une P5Q normale.

Et slasher, je suis en ce moment en train de réinstaller mon ubuntu, je vais tacher d'effectuer ta solution juste apres, merci pour ton aide.

bon j'ai reussi a decompresser le driver sous windows, grace a 7-zip, le probleme maintenant c'est que la ligne de commande que tu me suggere ne fonctionne pas dans le terminal. ("LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src") alors comme je l'ai dit je suis mega debutant, il se peut donc que je fasse quelque chose à l'envers...

pour completer l'info, le message que m'affiche le terminal est:

bash: 2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
bash: LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/ : est un repertoire
bash: 1e- : commande introuvable

je tape:"LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src", mais j'ai aussi essayé de changer de facon "logique" en inscrivant les racines ou se trouve mon dossier avec mon pilote a savoir:"/home/myusername/LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/|1e-|2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src".
et du coup la reponse est:

En changeant cette fois myusername par ton login... roll

nan, non plus... j'ai essayé entre deux ceci:

cd /home/myusername/LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/src/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4

la reponse est par contre:

bash: 2e-linux-v1.0.0.4 : commande introuvable
bash: 1e- : commande introuvable

et aussi, etant donné qu'en lisant un readme j'ai vu qu'il s'agissait d'une version "ethernet adapter: 1.0.0.0", j'ai tenté:

cd /home/myusername/LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/src/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.0

mais c'est la meme reponse le .0 a la place du .4, c'est tout

      the version and configuration of the installed kernel sources. If you  
      have just recompiled the kernel reboot the system now. 
 
      RPM functionality has only been tested in Red Hat distributions. 
 
1. Move the base driver tar file to the directory of your choice. For example, 
   use /home/username/arl1e or /usr/local/src/arl1e. 
 
2. Untar/unzip archive:

Command Line Parameters

If the driver is built as a module, the  following optional parameters are  
used by entering them on the command line with the modprobe or insmod command 
using this syntax: 
 
     modprobe arl1e [<option>=<VAL1>,<VAL2>,...] 
 
     insmod arl1e [<option>=<VAL1>,<VAL2>,...]  
 
For example, with two L001 PCIE adapters, entering: 
 
     insmod arl1e TxMemSize=80,128 
loads the arl1e driver with 8KB TX memory for the first adapter and 10KB TX memory  
for the second adapter. 
 
The default value for each parameter is generally the recommended setting, 
unless otherwise noted. 
 
    NOTES: A descriptor describes a data buffer and attributes related to the  
           data buffer. This information is accessed by the hardware. 
 
MediaType 
Valid Range: 0-4 
	0    - auto-negotiate at all supported speeds 
	1    - only link at 100Mbps Full Duplex 
	2    - only link at 100Mbps Half Duplex 
	3    - only link at 10Mbps Full Duplex 
	4    - only link at 10Mbps Half Duplex 
Default Value: 0 
    MediaType forces the line speed/duplex to the specified value in  
    megabits per second(Mbps). If this parameter is not specified or is set  
    to 0 and the link partner is set to auto-negotiate, the board will

    This value represents the minmum interval between interrupts controller

    Each memory block is 1536 bytes. 
 
    NOTE: Depending on the available system resources, the request for a

aaaaaaah,

bon ok, j'ai esaye et il ne me parle plus de commande introuvable mais pour toutes les solutions proposé il continue par contre de me dire: "aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type"

bon, je vais o dodo, j'en peux plus merci pour ton aide en tout cas si tu as un peu de temps pour telecharger toi meme le pilote et voir si ce que l'on a fait colle avec les fichiers se serait cool, mon anglais est tres moyen et mon linux, n'en parlons pas.

Bon, j'ai tout simplement été racheté une carte reseau PCI, j'avoue qu'au bout de deux semaines a pas avancer ca me galerer et du coup pour 10E, j'ai eu droit a la detection automatique. smile

Merci d'avoir essaye mais je vais tacher d'apprendre les choses dans l'ordre a partir de maintenant. (je vais pouvoir continuer ma lecture de "simple comme ubuntu")

1) I installed ubuntu hardy, i has build-essential package installed
2) Then i downloaded the linux driver from: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?product=1&SLanguage=us-en&type=map&model=P5KPL-CM
(as per my original post)
3) I then transfered the driver via usb stick to my laptop and unpacked the zip. (Actually i unpacked it on windows first as it has a .rar file that i could not unpack on linux Then i packed it up again on windows).
4) cd into <HOME_DIR>/LinuxDrivers/L1e_Lan/l1e-l2e-linux-v1.0.0.4/src
5) then i ran: sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make
6) then i ran: sudo KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make install
7) that worked and put a driver in /lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/kernel/drivers/net/atl1e/at1le.ko
8 ) i cd into that director and i run: sudo insmod ./atl1e.ko

Merci, cela fonctionne parfaitement.

note: le "build-essential" est dans le cd d'installation d'ubuntu mais n'est pas installé par défault.
