Wifi sous Hardy (8.04). Il ne voit pas ma carte wifi (Intel 2200BG)
Après avoir installé la 7.10 il y a quelques mois, j'ai cherché pendant de longues semaines à faire marcher ma carte wifi INTEL 2200BG. Par manque de temps j'avais abandonné. Avec la sortie de cette nouvelle version 8.04, je me suis motivé à retenter l'expérience.
Installation terminée (sans accès à internet par cable disponible), l'OS ne voit même pas ma carte wifi avec iwconfig.
Que faire ?

bon le driver est charger mais le carte est marqué "UNCLAIMED"
donc le problème vient surement d'une activation par une combinaison de touche
style Fn+F2 un bouton dédié a l'activation du WIFI

merci de ta réponse 
J'ai un TOSHIBA TECRA A4 et je dispose d'un bouton d'activation manuel spécialement dédié avec une led, ainsi que d'une combinaison de touche (fn+F8)
En essayant toutes les combinaisons possibles, la carte reste toujours UNCLAIMED.
Que faire ?

fais cecisudo modprobe acerhket retour de
sudo lshw -C network
Alors alors,
Quand je fais "sudo modprobe acerhk" il me dit que :
FATAL : Error Inserting acerhk (/lib/modules/2.6.24-16-generic/ubuntu/misc/acerhk.ko): Cannot allocate memory?

Bon, j'suis p'tetre debutant sous linux mais ... aucun rapport, regarde "en bas" a gauche de ton ordi ... tu as p'tetre un genre de bouton pour activer ta carte reseau ( on est rester sur ce probleme avec ma voisine juste pour sa pendant un mois ... ) et elle avait un toshiba avec intel mais ... c'était un stellite je ne sai splus trop quoi ... enfin bref !

Bon, j'ai abandonné, n'ayant pas beaucoup de temps à consacrer à tout ça. Tout semble marcher sous mandriva. Je reviendrai sous ubuntu la prochaine fois

Heu... J'ai exactement le même problème avec mon acer aspire 1690 et la même carte wifi. Il détecte la carte wifi mais je n'arrive pas à l'allumer: le bouton ne marche pas. J'ai tenté d'installer des pilotes propriétaires (ipw je sais plus trop quoi) mais j'ai rien compris à leurs explications.
Mon pc est en dual boot avec windows xp.
Quelqu'un pourrait-il m'aider?
Et s'il vous plait, pas de langage trop compliqué, ça fait à peine une semaine que je suis passée à linux lol.

Pareil avec ma WPC54G v1.2 de chez Linksys. C'est l'enfer avec Ubuntu et meme encore avec Hardy alors qu'avec Mandriva, c'est reconnu direct et ça marche impec !

Dans un terminal :
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
puis ajouter à la fin des lignes préfixées par "kernel" : lapic irqpoll
enregistrer le fichier et redémarrer.
En principe le problème sera résolu !
