installation xubuntu 15.04 dual boot windows 8.1

Bonjour,

j'essaie d'installer xubuntu 15.04 en dual boot en parallele a windows 8.1 mais xubuntu ne detecte pas windows, il me dit juste windows boot manager installe et ne me permet pas de conserver windows, ce que je voudrais,

comment faire ?

windows est installe en mode uefi et je demarre xubuntu depuis une cle usb en mode uefi egalement

Je viens de faire un essai en machine virtuelle de Ubuntu 15.04 (fichier vivid-desktop-amd64.iso / Daily Build du 26-Mar-2015) et je confirme ce message "Windows Boot Manager est actuellement installé sur cet ordinateur. Que voulez-vous faire ?" qui apparaît à l'étape 3 de l'installation en mode EFI dans le cas d'un Windows 8 préinstallé. Ce "message" n'est pas une nouveauté de la version 15.04 : il existait déjà lors de l'installation de la version précédente Ubuntu 14.10 comme tu peux le voir dans ce post : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p18405821
Comme c'est un peu dur à avaler, je t'indique directement la photo dont je veux parler :

La différence, c'est que sur cette photo, le message est :

Windows Boot Manager et Ubuntu 14.10 sont actuellement installés sur cet ordinateur. Que voulez-vous faire ?

A cause de la présence de Windows 8 mais également d'une install préexistante de Ubuntu 14.10.

EDIT : Je te prie de faire un Boot-Info et de donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse. Je viens de vérifier que c'est faisable sans souci depuis une session live de Ubuntu 15.04 (fichier ISO que j'ai indiqué au début du post). Je pourrai vérifier s'il y a une anomalie qui empêche l'installation. Parmi la tarte à la crème des anomalies, il y a l'utilisation d'une version 32 bits de Ubuntu (ou ses dérivés) pour installer dans un préinstallé Windows 8 : si tu as utilisé une version 32 bits au lieu d'une version 64 bits, ça pourrait expliquer tes ennuis....

Non. La 15.04 ne sera jamais LTS.
Les versions dites LTS ne sortent qu'une fois tous les deux ans et sont à jour pendant 5 ans.
Les autres versions ne sont à jour que pendant 9 mois.

bonjour,

C'est quoi ton problème ? Tu n'as pas le choix de sélectionner "Autre chose" et de faire le partitionnement ?
Si ton pc a 4 partitions primaires, il est normal qu'ubuntu ne te propose pas de mettre ubuntu à côté de windows car c'est impossible en l'état (il y a max 4 partitions primaires...).
Donc habituellement,il faut partitionner manuellement (en supprimant au passage une partition windows pour faire de la place...).

Attention, si on ne sait pas ce qu'on fait, on peut tout casser...(du moins pour le windows, le linux lui il bootera )

Edit : Bougron a raison : désolé j'avais pas vu, il faut faire simplement de la place...

Dans ce boot-info, je vois

Que le disque est GPT, donc la limite des 4 partitions primaires est hors sujet.
Qu'il n'y a aucun espace qui a été libéré dans la 4eme partition. S'il n'y a pas d'espace libre, ubuntu ne peut pas s'installer!
La libération d'espace se fait par le gestionnaire d'espace de windows. http://libre.a.quimperle.perso.sfr.fr/2014/efi/efi.html

Ton Boot-Info du post #7 ne contient pas d'anomalie susceptible d’empêcher l'installation. Bougron a bien noté qu'il convient de libérer de l'espace (avoir une zone sans partition) avant d'installer. Cela étant posé, moi je ne comprends pas trop ce qui te gène. Dans un cas semblable au tien (Windows 8 installé seul - en mode EFI - sur un disque dur et occupant tout l'espace de ce disque dur), voilà ce que je peux voir à l'étape 3 de l'installation de Ubuntu 15.04 64 bits en mode EFI :

Si tu vois la même chose que moi, je pense que c'est exactement ce qu'on s'attend à voir à cette étape 3. On peut voir le choix présélectionné - que je ne te conseille pas(*) - "Installer Ubuntu à côté de Windows Boot Manager". Moi je te recommande de suivre la procédure du Tuto "efi un jeu d'enfant" du site "Libre à Quimperlé", c'est à dire de préparer à l'avance tes partitions et de sélectionner "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 de l'installation

(*) je ne conseille pas ce choix pour plein de raisons :
- l'installation automatique de Ubuntu a prouvé sa dangerosité (bug #1265192 qui a fait des ravages). Il ne faut plus lui faire confiance dans le cas où il y a un Windows préinstallé : il faut faire une installation "manuelle" (choix "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 de l'installation)
- le partitionneur de l'installateur va prendre en charge la réduction de la taille de la partition système de Windows alors que la doc du site conseille très prudemment d'effectuer cette opération avant l'installation depuis Windows lui-même (ici) : Windows ne risque pas de s'amputer le système contrairement à ce qui pourrait se passer si c'est le partitionneur de l'installateur qui fait le travail.
