Plantage freeze régulier sous ubuntu

Bonjour,

je viens vers vous car depuis que je suis passée totalement sous ubuntu, c'est la galère, mon pc portable (compaq presario v6000 carte graphique nvidia) plante et provoque un freeze total du pc  (avec écran noir ou pas), et ctrl/alt/ F1 ou F7 n'y font rien
Sous windows, je n'avais jamais eu ce genre de problème (ce qui exclurait un problème matériel ?)

nous avons fait quelques test :
   . un memtest : RAS,
   . joué 30 mn à OpenArena pour forcer un plantage dû à une surchauffe par exemple,

Mais rien n'y fait, ça continue et moi je m'arrache les cheveux !

J'ai besoin de votre aide, car je veux rester sous Linux moi

en fouillant le syslog, j'ai ces lignes qui reviennent assez régulièrement, et à priori plus ou moins à l'heure des plantages :

juste allumé ce matin à 8h, retour à 11h sans rien faire dessus : pas de plantage...
