[Résolu] Disque dur externe non reconnu sur Ubuntu 8.04

Bonjour,
Je travaille actuellement sur Ubuntu 8.04.
J’ai un disque dur externe (Seagate External Drive USB Device (298.09 Go, soit 320 Gb)).
Il était reconnu sous Ubuntu 6.06, mais il n’est pas reconnu sous Ubuntu 8.04
Qu’avez-vous comme solutions à me proposer pour qu’il soit reconnu ?
J’attends vos réponses avec impatience et vous en remercie par avance.

Mon message précédent est toujours d'actualité, mais je me permet de vous demander une autre question plus importante!
Alors voilà, sur mon ordi, j’ai en dualboot, windows xp pro et ubuntu 8.04.
Le problème c’est qu’ils sont les deux hors services, même en mode sans échec.
Xp a probablement des virus et linux, ça doit être un logiciel qui est la cause de tout ça.
SVP, comment puis-je faire pour que mon disque dur externe soit reconnu sous le mode live, afin que je puisse sauvegarder mes données avant de formater ?
(A l’heure ou je vous écrit, je me sert du live cd.)
Ce serais vraiment sympa si vous pouviez m’aidez.

le disque dur est bien reconnu, est il formater en ntfs ou fat32?
si c'est en ntfs, il faut installer ntfs-3g... mais le mieux est de le formater en fat32
linux n'est pas sensible au virus, sauf si il a été installer avec wubi...

Bonsoir, le disque dur externe est formaté en fat32!
Linux a été installé normalement, et non pas depuis xp.
Svp, comment puis-je lancer mon disque dur externe, sachant qu'il n'apparaît pas dans le poste de travail ?
(En ce moment, ce serait depuis le live cd, puisse que mes 2 OS sont toujours HS, et oui il faut bien que je sauvegarde mes données sur un support.)
Mais après, je souhaiterais l’utiliser sous linux une fois réinstallé.

il faut monter le disque en ligne de commande, avec mount http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/installation/mount_fstab
pour toi la commande serai:

sudo mkdir /media/disk
sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sd(qqchose) /media/disk

pour trouver le sd(qqchose) tape la commande dmesg et fouille dans les dernière ligne...
ou (comme j'ai l'habitude de faire) tape le dubut de la commande soit sudo mount -tvfat /dev/sd puis tape sur la touche tab pour que la suite s'écrive toute seul (ca a un nom mais je sais plus!). par exemple dans ton dmesg que tu m'a fourni:

Il ne me parrait pas normal pour un disque externe d'avoir à faire un montage systématique en ligne de commande ou à ajouter au fstab.

As-tu vérifié du côte des [urlhttp://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/uuid_et_label=]uuid[/url] (différence notable entre 6.06 et 8.04 il me semble)

voici ce que j'ai trouvé dans la doc que tu m'as donné:

Une autre option intéressante est de pouvoir choisir les droits par défaut sur le volume. Cas concret : vous avez une partition en vfat sur votre disque dur, venue on ne sait d'où. Vous voudriez, en tant qu'utilisateur lambda, pouvoir lire et écrire dessus. Le système de fichier vfat ne spécifiant aucun droit, nous devons les lui spécifier lors du montage. Il faut alors indiquer à mount la valeur de umask adéquate (google umask) grâce à l'option homonyme.
login@ubuntu:login$ sudo mount -o umask=0 /dev/hda7 /media/win_d
Password:
login@ubuntu:login$ ls /media/win_d
cygwin                  pagefile.sys   Recycled

Cette méthode a un inconvénient : les autorisations en exécution sont nécessaires pour les répertoires mais pénibles pour les fichiers. On peut alors préciser un umask pour chacun d'eux :
login@ubuntu:login$ sudo mount -o fmask=111 -o dmask=0 /dev/hda7 /media/win_d

Donc, je pense que c'est bien la commande:
sudo mount -o umask=0,rw /dev/sdb1 /media/win_d

as tu essayé avec mount -o rw ?
(question subsidiaire : as tu lu le man mount ?
deuxième question subsidiaire : je n'arrive pas bien à cerner ton niveau, peux-tu le préciser ?)

souvent il suffit de le rebrancher à un pc sous windows de retirer le périphérique en toute sécurité et le tour est joué wink

si le problème vient de là, linux signale une impossibilité de monter le périph car il a été mal démonté sous windows. Je ne crois pas que ce soit le cas ici. Toutefois il n'est pas nécessaire d'avoir windows dans ce cas : monter avec mount -f et redémonter proprement sous linux. Après c'est reglé...

Avec la commande mount -o rw voici ce qu’il met :

sudo mount -o rw /dev/sde1 /media/disk

mount: /dev/sde1 est déjà monté ou /media/disk est occupé

mount: selon mtab /dev/sdb1 est déjà monté sur /media/disk


Quand au man mount, j’ai regardé (traduit en français par google) !
Apparemment, il n’y a pas la commande pour l’écriture !

Je suis débutant sous linux, voilà pourquoi ce n’est pas simple pour moi.
Et pour la dernière fois qu’il a été déconnecté sous windows, cela a été fait correctement!
Il ne me manque plus que le droit d'écriture pour mon disque.
Des autres suggestions?

:)essaie de debrancher ton hd ,d'eteindre puis de le rebrancher une fois ta session ubuntu ouverte.Mais je ne suis qu'un petit linuxien

Merci de me donner un petit coup de pouce. Mais tournant sur le live cd, (car mes OS sont HS) il faut que je le remonte tout le temps dès qu'il n'est plus branché.
