[Question]Disque dur partitionné, retour en arrière possible ?

Bonjour à tous et toutes,

Voilà, lors de mon achat d'un pc portable de marque Toshiba Qosmio x70-B si cela importe, fait une installation en Dual Boot Windows 8.1 (installer de base) / Ubuntu 14.04 LTS pour des raisons professionnelles, car je devait garder Windows.

J'avais donc utilisé Gparted (sous windows) pour créer deux partitions (Swap et futur installation de Ubuntu) pour réaliser cela.

N'uilisant plus ou vraiment très très peu Windows, j'aurais aimé donc savoir si il était possible, en formatant ou tout autre manoeuvre, de rémédier à ce partitionnement, et revenir en arrière et avoir un disque dur Non partitionné, avec juste Ubuntu comme OS.

Bonjour,

Si Ubuntu est fonctionnel et démarre correctement  via le menu Grub, tu peux effectivement supprimer les partitions de Windows.
Mais avant donnes le résultat de:

sudo parted -l

Merci de ta réponse et oui mon Ubuntu est fonctionnel et démarre correctement via la menu Grub.

Petite question, ne serait il pas plus sage de complètement (après sauvegarde de mes fichiers) de formater complètement le Disque Dur ?

Je vois par l'existence de la partition fat32 /dev/sda1 que ton portable utilise un firmware uefi.

Avant de faire quoi que ce soit j'aimerais les résultats de 

sudo ls -lR /boot/efi
sudo efibootmgr -v

Ne pas utiliser d'image écran pour donner les résultats, un simple copier/coller à placer entre balises code est suffisant et surtout moins lourd.
Les balises code sont disponible en cliquant sur <> dans la barre d'outils localisée au-dessus de l'espace de saisie du message.

Effectivement, avant de faire quoi que ce soit, sauvegardes tes données importantes.

Pour te débarasser définitivement de Windows:

sudo rm -r /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft
sudo efibootmgr -b 0005

Ces deux commandes vont empêcher définitivement le démarrage de Windows.
Ensuite suppression des 2 partitions /dev/sda2 et /dev/sda3 sous Gparted, tu ne supprimes surtout pas la partition fat32 /dev/sda1, c'est la partition de démarrage système.

J'ai un doute concernant le fichier de démarrage /boot/efi/EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi c'est certainement un programme de démarrage Windows car sa taille est identique à celle du programme windows /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi.
En principe tu n'as aucune raison de l'utiliser tel que le démarrage système est paramétré, mais il serait bien de le remplacer par la version grub:

sudo cp /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/shimx64.efi /boot/efi/EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi
sudo cp /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg /boot/efi/EFI/Boot/

Finalement tu regénères le menu grub en faisant:

sudo update-grub

Tu te retrouveras avec un immense espace disque vide, à toi maintenant de le découper en partitions comme bon te semble, tu trouveras toutes les informations nécessaires dans la documentation disponible dans ce site.

Donc si je suis bien ta logique, je garde ma session d'Ubuntu et j'efface les partitions windows etc. Mais cela va créer deux partitions ? Une celle de Ubuntu, l'autre vide qui contenanit Windows ?

Moi ce que j'aimerais, si c'est possible bien sûr, que mon disque dur ne soit plus partitionné. N'avoir qu'un seul OS d'installer sur un seul disque dur. Je me suis peut être mal exprimé dans mes attentes...

En fait, si je puis m'exprimer ainsi, je voudrais retrouver mon disque dur comme avant le Partitionnement que j'ai effectué pour avoir mon dual boot.

Je crois que tu n'as pas compris que ton disque sera toujours partitionné, tu n'as pas le choix.
En effet tu auras au minimum 3 partitions, la partition de démarrage /dev/sda1, la partition contenant Ubuntu proprement dit /dev/sda5 et la partition swap /dav/sda4.

Revenir à la situation initiale, non puisque c'est une situation dans laquelle il existait déjà 3 partitions, 2 Windows + la partition de démarrage.

Tu peux éventuellement, une fois les manipulations que je propose réalisées, agrandir la partition /dev/sda5 de manière à ce qu'elle occupe tout l'espace libéré, ceci via une live-usb et Gparted.

Une autre solution est de tout supprimer et de réinstaller Ubuntu, ma proposition a le mérite d'éviter la procédure d'installation suvie d'une restauration de tes données personnelles.

C'est comme tu veux, c'est toi qui choisis.

C'est effectivement ce que je vais choisir je pense réinstaller au propre, je n'ai pas non plus 50 000 giga de données smile

Par contre, si je choisis de réinstaller Ubuntu seul, il faut quand même que je supprime mes partitions Windows ? Ou le formatage proposer par l'installation d'Ubuntu effcera toute trace de Windows et donc tu partitionnement que j'ai fait ?

Tu peux tout réinstaller, mais avant appliques ce que je t'ai proposé mais en  supprimant directement /dev/sda1, plus la peine de passer la commande «rm -r».
Ce sera plus propre, le processus de démarrage du PC sera à blanc et pourra alors être réinitialisé par la procédure d'installation de Ubuntu.

En fait tu as juste à faire:

sudo efibootmgr -b 0005
sudo efibootmgr -b 0000
sudo efibootmgr -b 0001

Puis tu supprimes via Gparted /dev/sda1, /dev/sda2 et /dev/sda3.
Il faudra juste démonter au préalable /dev/sda1, Gparted le permet.

Tu lances l'installation de Ubuntu en écrasant tout le disque.
