difficultée vec windows 8 que je souhaite remplacé par unbuntu
Bonjour
Tout d'abord ravi de faire parie de cette communauté.
Je suis très novice et perdu dans le problème que voici.
Lors d'une mise à jour de windows 8 sur un asus r900 v avec un dd de3TO un plantage majeur à eu lieu.
Lors du redémarrage j'obtiens un écran bleu et aucune des options de dépannage proposée ne fonctionne, comme c'est la deuxième fois que cela arrive et que la première réparation hors garantie m'a déjà coutée 300€, je souhaite remplacer windows par ubuntu.
mes questions sont les suivantes:
dans la mesure ou j'ai sauvegardé mes data sur un disque dur extérieur, un formatage de mon disque doit il être fait afin de partir sur une base propre.
A quoi peut bien servir le 1er écran asus lors du démarrage du pc.
faut il installer ubuntu en mode uefi et si oui comment faut il faire.
S'il faut installer Ubuntu en mode uefi je suppose qu'il faut modifier des options dans le bios, pouvez vous m'indiquer lesquelles.

Avant d'installer, il est très recommandé d'essayer en session live (sans installer). Je te suggère de créer une LiveUSB Ubuntu 14.04.1 64bits en suivant cette recette : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=16713311
Ton Windows de l'Asus étant en carafe, tu peux faire cette LiveUSB depuis n'importe quel ordi qui a un Windows.
Ensuite, tu peux démarrer ton ordi Asus r900v sur cette liveUSB en pressant la touche Echap au démarrage afin de sélectionner ta clé USB et démarrer dessus.
Si tu parviens à faire une session Live et que tout semble fonctionner à peu près correctement (vérifie que tu as accès à internet par un petit tour dans Firefox), tu peux te lancer dans l'installation en utilisant l'icône de l'installateur qui se trouve sur le bureau.
EDIT : compte-tenu de la taille de ton disque dur, je pense qu'il faut installer Ubuntu en mode EFI. Si tu parviens à démarrer en session live comme j'ai indiqué, prends le temps de vérifier que cette session live a bien été démarrée en mode EFI en passant la commande suivante dans un terminal par copier-coller. cela évitera les erreurs de frappe (source) :
[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"Si le résultat est "Session EFI", c'est parfait et tu peux installer. L'installation de Ubuntu sera faite en mode EFI qui convient à ton cas.

Merci de ta réponse, j'ai bien installé ubuntu en mode live sans problème avec un accès à internet correct, la seule chose que je n'ai pas testé dans ce mode est le fonctionnement de mon imprimante.
Sauf erreur de ma part le cd me demande si l'on doit formater le disque (je ne suis pas sur de ce que je viens de dire), si tel est le cas faut il le faire et que vont ainsi devenir les partions cachées (info asus), je pense que vu la taille du disque un partitionnement de ce dernier est indispensable, comment faut il faire ?
Y a t il des réglage préférentiels à faire dans uefi.
Désolé de la naïveté de mes questions mais Confucius n'a t il pas dit:
"la seule question idiote est celle que l'on ne pose pas"

Ne va pas plus loin. Depuis une session live, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info et de donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse. Après que j'aurai analysé ce Boot-Info, je pourrai répondre sûrement à ton interrogation.

Moi, j'avais compris que tu allais écraser tout ce qu'il y avait sur ton disque dur pour laisser Ubuntu s'installer tout seul sur le disque. Mais là, je vois que tu as installé Ubuntu à côté de Windows 8. Je te prie donc de confirmer :
1) que tu souhaites conserver ton installation actuelle de Windows avec Ubuntu installé à côté
2) ou alors que tu veux complètement virer Windows 8 de ce disque dur pour laisser la totalité du disque dur à Ubuntu.

effectivement l'idée d'origine, avant le plantage, etait de faire cohabiter windows et ubuntu, cohabitation qui n'a pas été installée. depuis le plantage de windows j'ai essayé d'installer ubuntu toutefois je n'ai pas su configurer le bios pour demarrer sur ubuntu.
Aujourdh'ui windows est planté et je ne sais pas le remettre en état sauf de racheter un disque de réinstall, windows8 etant ni convivial, ni sécurisant, ni fiable, ni discret, je souhaite virer windows et installer ubuntu en partant d'un disque propre et intelligement partitionné. Mes compétences élémentaires ne me permettent pas réaliser ces actions correctement.

Pour faire un partitionnement intelligent, je pense qu'il faut le faire en "manuel", c'est à dire sélectionner "Autre chose" à l'étape "Type d'installation" : http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/origi … 952663.png
Après ça, tu peux choisir ton partitionnement avec l'aide de cette doc : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/parti … eur_ubuntu
Il te faudra :
- une partition EFI (voir Créer une partition EFI). Il existe déjà une partition EFI : tu peux si tu veux la laisser en place et elle sera utilisée par l'installateur. Sinon, tu peux supprimer l'existante et en créer une nouvelle et toute propre. C'est sans importance, c'est comme tu veux. En dehors de cette partition EFI si tu décides de la réutiliser, il faudra que tu supprimes toutes les autres partitions actuelles pour installer ce que je détaille ensuite.
- une partition racine de 20 Go format EXT4
- une partition swap de 5 Go (si tu as 4 Go de RAM)
- une Partition de données personnelles (dite "partition /home") en EXT4 qui occupe tout le reste du disque dur

Je revient vers toi pour te remercier de tes judicieux conseils qui m'ont bien aidés, la seule chose que je n'ai pas reussi à faire est de partitionner mon disque comme je l'avais envisagé, mais bon pour l'instant la seule chose importante est que ubuntu fonctionne correctement.
je vais parcourir les forums pour approfondir mes connaissances et si tu le permet. je referais un post en cas de problème.

Je souhaiterais ajouter ton modèle dans la Liste des portables « Asus ». Il y a déjà deux modèles dans cette liste dont le nom commence par "R900V" :
- R900VB-YZ047H
- R900VJ-YZ066H
Tu as indiqué dans le post #1 que tu as un "R900V" mais je souhaiterais que tu vérifies si le nom complet de ton modèle ne serait pas un de ces deux modèles. Si ce n'est pas le cas, donne le nom complet de ton modèle ou bien donne le lien vers une page où on peut voir ton modèle.

Pour répondre à ta question, mon PC est un asus R900vj-YZ023H écran 18.4 "" intel core I5 2.5 GHZ hdd 3TO carte graphique nvidia 635m (de tete) d’où la question suivante:
Ou puis je trouver le type de carte graphique installée, comment savoir si bien elle qui est opérationnelle et comment la configurer, je n'ai pas su trouver ces infos dans le forum.

désolé je ne cherchais pas au bon endroit je confirme que la carte graphique est bien une Nvidia gt 635m ou une intel Selon la copie d'écran ci dessous

onglet prime profiles, j'ai coché nvidia.
Par contre j'ai toujours un écran palot et je n'ai pas su régler les différents paramètre de cette carte.

merci pour le complément d'info.
Pour que ton installation puisse servir d'exemple d'installation réussie pour ceux qui ont ce modèle, je te prie de démarrer une session de ton Ubuntu installé et de faire un Boot-Info depuis cette session. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.
Pour ta question sur l'affichage, je te suggère déjà de consulter les doc et les topics épinglés du forum Affichage et cartes graphiques : tu verras comment trouver les infos sur ta carte graphique, après cela, si tu n'as pas trouvé toutes les infos qui répondent à tes interrogations, crée une nouvelle discussion à ce sujet (ma carte GT 635M est-elle bien gérée par Ubuntu ?) dans ce forum Affichage et cartes graphiques en donnant le maximum de billes (à commencer par donner le nom du modèle de ton ordi : R900vj-YZ023H).

Afin de dessiner ma cuisine j'ai installé librecad. Dans ce logiciel je n'ai pas réussi à utiliser la fonction "Bloc", la création ne pose pas de problème mais je n'ai pas su rappeler le bloc créer afin de le réutiliser. Quelqu'un a t il une solution à me proposer.

bonjour je souhaite mettre un linux sur mon ordi assus il est en uefi je l'ai acheté le 19 juillet avec windows 8.1 , je ne sais comment faire je suis perdu pouvez vous m'aider a choisir une version qui me conviens pour faire de la bureautique , faire des jeux en ligne , et faire mes cd j'ai déjà reformater mon ancien ordi en le mettant au démarrage sur le cd , j'aimerai savoir s'il y a besoin d'un anti virus sur linux je suis vraiment novice merci pour votre aide

Nous avons été tous novices et nous avons emmagasiné des connaissances grâce à la doc.
C'est fou ce qu'on trouve dans la doc, même après des années de vol, on y trouve toujours plus de pépites.
Pour répondre à une des questions : il n'y a pas besoin d'antivirus sous Linux, tout juste Clamav https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/clamav, histoire de ne pas refiler des saletés aux copains windowsiens ...... à moins de trouver un argument en béton pour les convaincre de passer à Linux 
Noua aimons bien dérouler le tapis rouge sur le forum sur ce fil : Bonjour les nouveaux
