Voilà je viens d'acheter un hp pavilion dv7-1035em et il me pose des problèmes celui-là ! D'une je suis pas un habitué de linux, à dire vrai je n'ai jamais vraiment installé de distrib de façon permanente. J'ai fait plusieurs essais, toujours sur ubuntu/kubuntu pour tester des logs incompatibles win ou simplement pour découvrir de nouvelles maj.
Ceci dit, j'en viens à la source du problème: il intègre une carte wifi N de marque intel wifi link 5100 d'après ce que j'ai pu glané. De plus, j'ai appris que des maj importantes vont apparaître avec la prochaine version d'ubuntu qui devrait sortir en octobre/novembre elle contiendrait des améliorations liées au nouveau kernel 2.6.26 qui comprend des drivers wifi visiblement compatibles avec ma carte.
Donc, n'ayant pas froid aux yeux je me suis lancé dans une compilation d'un 2.6.26.2 (drôle non ?) totalement insensible aux kernel panic et autres menuconfig je m'en suis plutôt bien sorti pour un newbie de level 1... mais le noyau bug au splash avec un bip .
J'ai abandonné cette solution, je n'ai pas de notions de debugger et à moins de refaire un config et de trouver d'où vient l'erreur... si quelqu'un se sent le courage de m'aider là-dessus je l'attends
Il y a 20 minutes je suis tombé sur un topic de hfr parlant de compat-wireless. J'ai trouvé ça intéressant et je suis allé sur http://wireless.kernel.org/. J'ai téléchargé le bz2, commencé le tuto mais je bloque là
tar jxvf compat-wireless-$(date -I).tar.bz2
cd compat-wireless-$(date -I)
make <--- ??? réponse de ma console :

Ah aussi à préciser ma carte son ou du moins le driver déconne, à première vue j'ai pas de son mais quand je lance amarok ou autre soit j'ai un freeze du son (un son qui se répéte sans arrêt) soit il me dit que les codecs (mp3 en l'occurence) ne sont pas installés alors qu'ils le sont.
Bref je pencherai pour un bug du driver (alsa) mais qu'est-ce que je peux faire ?

1. Décompression de l\'archive dans votre dossier /home/\'utilisateur\'

tar jxvf compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz2
2. Compilation du module et installation
2.1 Compilation
cd compat-wireless-$(date -I)
make
sudo make install
Pour les desinstaller
sudo make uninstall

pour pouvoir utiliser ces driver
(les driver natif du votre noyau ne sont pas remplacer)
Attention si vous avez une clé wifi branché sur un port usb, il est préférable de la retirer sous peine de risquer un gel du pc,
dans ce cas faites Alt+SysReq+b
sudo make load
pour réutiliser les driver natif de votre noyau
sudo make unload

Okay, le problème du make est réglé. C'était tout bête mais la commande d'extraction a mal fonctionné et ne m'a extrait qu'un répertoire.
Par ordre : make, make install, make load.
Voilà, et maintenant ? J'ai pas l'impression que ça ait changé quelque chose

Bonjour,
Je viens d'essayer Intrepid (version "daily") et malheureusement toujours pas de wifi sur mon Vaio équipé d'un chipset Intel Wifi Link 5100 (comme Flo360). Pourtant le noyau 2.6.26 était censé résoudre le problème (?) enfin mieux vaut attendre la version finale évidemment.

Eh bien tu me rassures là t6sdt7 !
Perso j'ai pas eu le temps de tester, ce fameux noyau n'a pas voulu m'écouter et booter comme il faut .
Et la cerise : une réinstal complète parce que le grub était éronné naturellement (pourtant je me suis renseigné là dessus avant de le faire mais pas assez... J'ai voulu utiliser gparted et formater avec en pensant qu'il détecterait automatiquement un multiboot existant et qu'il arrangerait les choses mais il n'a pas semblé vouloir...).
Enfin, il ne reste plus qu'à attendre la fin de l'année pour la finale et t6sdt7 tiens moi au courant (par mail) si tu trouves quelque chose

cherche : /boot/grub/menu.lst et à la fin de la ligne kernel tu rajoutes pci=noacpi
Au cas où tu veuilles que le son switch quand tu branches quelque chose sur ta prise jack de sortir son (genre un casque ou des enceintes) il faut que tu créer un fichier : ~/.asoundrc
avec comme contenu :
pcm.intel8x0 {
type hw
card 0
}
ctl.intel8x0 {
type hw
card 0
}
En passant par là, j'ai le même soucis pour ce qui est du wifi, sans avoir trouvé de pistes de solution, alors si quelqu'un a du nouveau je suis plus que preneur en tant que possesseur d'un dv7 1070!
