probleme NVIDIA GT640 et port HDMI

Bonjour,
je viens de rajeunir un poil ma config, en ajoutant, entre autre, une carte graphique NVIDIA GT640 à celle-ci.
j'en ai profité pour instaler la dernière version d'ubuntu, pour repartir à neuf (14.04.3LTS)
Le truc marrant, c'est que j'ai mon écran branché sur le port VGA, qui fonctionne à ravir, mais que mon vidéoprojecteur, branché sur le port hdmi, ne fonctionne pas.
Bon j'ai quand même fait pas mal de trucs, je suis allé voir les réglages des écrans, mon vidéoprojecteur apparaît, est allumé mais aucun signal n'arrive à celui-ci.
Du coup j'ai regardé la doc, ai installé le pilote propriétaire correspondant, toujours rien sur l'autre écran (le vidéoproj).
J'ai fais plein d'autres trucs, ça fait 1 semaine que je galère, je me rappelle plus de tout, à part que ça m'a amené à réinstaller l'OS un bon paquet de fois...
Du coup j'appelle à l'aide, j'arrive  pas à m'en sortir seul...

Ca n'a peut-être aucuns rapports avec ton souci (encore que), il me semblait qu'il n'était pas raisonnable d'avoir le driver Nouveau et les pilotes proprétaires en même temps, ce qui a l'air d'être le cas sur ta config. A vérifier sur la doc.ubuntu.fr, mais il me semble que tu es censé désactiver le pilote libre (Mea Culpa si c'est déjà le cas, et que j'ai mal lu ton log.
Peux-tu lancer nvidia-settings en root ? Est-ce que ton proc a une CG intégrée (comme la plupart des core i7) ?

Alors en ce qui concerne le pilote libre, je t'avoue que je ne sais pas... je dois faire quoi? le désactiver depuis le gestionnaire de pilotes?
en ce qui concerne nvidia-settings, je peux le lancer en mode root, pas de p.
et oui, mon proc a une cg intégrée, javais juste envie d'avoir une meilleur qualité et plus de fluidité, c'est pourquoi j'ai rajouté cette cg. Avec celle intégrée, ça fonctionnait nikel (et avec la version précédente d'ubuntu)...

Si tu es passé par le gestionnaire de pilotes (continue, c'est mieux comme ça), alors à priori tu n'as rien à faire, c'est OK.
Dans les nvidia-settings, dans la section "X Server Display Configuration", as-tu mention de tes écrans connectés dans le layout ? Si ce n'est pas le cas, je suis dans ton cas (à vrai dire, même avec un seul écran, je n'ai pas de layout du tout). Je sais juste que c'est lié à la présence des 2 cartes graphiques et qu'il y a un paquet de gens avec ce souci. Tu peux p'être t'en sortir avec le Xinerama et les configs bi-écrans, mais là je te renvoie à nouveau sur la doc parce que j'ai un peu oublié tout ça. De même, à voir s'il n'y a pas une option dans ton bios pour désactiver purement et simplement la CG intégrée, et voir si cela arrange les choses dans ton cas.
Mais là, il faudra demander à des personnes plus compétentes que ma personne pour t'orienter ^^

En fait pour installer le pilote j'ai suivi ce tuto: tuto install pilote CG .
Et oui, j'ai mes 2 écrans mentionnés... je vais voir cette histoire de xinérama, effectivement je retombe dessus fréquement, je voulais juste voir si c'était pas un petit paramètre à ajuster avant de me lancer dedans...

bon c'est encore moi. Mon videoprojecteur s'était mis à fonctionner miraculeusement, mais depuis ce matin, retour à la case départ. Hier j'ai fait les mises à jour, et mon vdeoproj ne recoit encore aucun signal. pu**** de m****!!!! j'y comprend rien de rien, je sais pas ce qui se passe à part que c'est hyper agacant! je vais plus mettre à jour mon ordi je pense.
bref c'est hyper flou, je sais pas quoi faire, si quelqu'un a une idee.

Je te confirme qu'en ce qui me concerne j'ai effectivement résolu le souci en désactivant la CG intégrée dans le bios de mon thinkpad T530 (un portable donc). Ca veut dire aussi que je ne peux plus utiliser le switch entre la carte intel et ma CG Nvidia. Mon videoprojecteur fonctionne (pas de hdmi pour moi, c'est du DVI) sans rien ajouter au xorg.conf, juste avec les pilotes propriétaires, avec une config remise à zéro par la commande :

sudo nvidia-xconfig

Note par contre que le vidéoprojecteur ne s'allume QUE lorsque je joue avec la section layout des settings NVidia (en clair, seulement quand je lui demande de m'afficher un second écran, d'étendre le bureau etc etc).
Tu pourrais nous poster ton xorg.conf stp ?

bon en fait je me suis arraché les cheveux tout l'aprem et j'ai réussi à modifier mon xorg.conf manuellement, c'est à dire que j'ai ajouté mon videoproj comme 2eme ecran.
donc tout va bien mais c'est juste que je ne comprends pas pourquoi les mises à jour ont réinitialisé mon xorg?
bref, je vais réfléchir à 2 fois avant de mettre à jour un systeme qui fonctionne nikel.

Cela peut arriver, me-semble-t-il, lorsque l'on a justement 2 CG, et que le système peut switcher entre les 2 : dans certains cas un simple redémarrage suffit à faire perdre ce qu'on avait indiqué manuellement dans le xorg.conf (ex. : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … g/1310489). Je ne sais pas par rapport à une MAJ, mais c'est peut-être un souci similaire.
Est-ce que tu as bumblebee ou nvidia-prime installé ?

Bien, ne les installe pas alors ^^. Je veux bien le retour de :

sudo lshw
lspci -vv

Histoire de connaître un peu mieux ta machine. Pense à faire un backup de ton xorg.conf tant qu'il fonctionne :

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.bak

('suffira d'inverser les 2 noms de fichiers dans cette commande pour restaurer ton xorg.conf, même si je pense que tu connais déjà ça).
Je ne sais pas pour la doc fr Ubuntu, mais peut-être que le wiki officiel en anglais peut t'aider sur les config bi-écrans récentes. De même pour les wiki d'autres distributions (archlinux par exemple) en restant prudent toutefois avant d'éxécuter des commandes qui ne passeront peut-être pas sur Ubuntu...
Enfin, vérifie dans ton bios si tu as la possibilité d'utiliser (et choisir) la carte graphique principale (c'est pas toujours le cas).
Dans mon cas, cela apparaît dans ce genre-là : "Display : <choix 1> auto / <choix 2> discrete". En choisissant "discrete" (la carte Nvidia), je peux voir le nom et le layout de l'écran du portable dans les nvidia-settings (ce qui n'est pas le cas si je laisse en auto). Je n'ai pas vraiment essayé mais je suppose qu'avoir deux cartes graphiques actives quand on essaie de faire du bi-écran, c'est peut-être pas gagné - -'.

désolé mais je peux pas t'aider sur ce coup là, y a un ami à moi qui est tres pro pour ce genre de truc, je peux te donner son contact si tu veux

merci d'éviter de citer inutilement le message précédent, de plus ce genre de pratique n'est pas en adéquation avec le forum,
surtout que c'est votre unique message, ça ressemble plus à du phishing qu'autre chose.
