[Résolu] Installation dualboot sur laptop sous wds10

Bonjour,
j'ai depuis peu un portable Asus avec wds10 préinstallé, je souhaite avoir Ubuntu en dualboot avec les options au démarrage et ça parait plus compliqué que sur mon desktop; un peu galère de démarrer sur cd déjà, mais c'est réglé, et à l'installation le partitionnement automatique affiche ne pas trouver d'autre os alors que c'est indiqué sur les partitions; ça ressemble à un parcours du combattant, merci de vos conseils et tous mes voeux!

maintenant c'est plutôt 14.04.3 qui sait reconnaître windows

L'installation d'Ubuntu seul est automatique, mais le dual boot avec Windows pose d'autres problèmes liés à la politique de l'éditeur de Windows.

Je pense qu'après la sinistre version 14.04.1, il est possible de faire de l'automatisme, mais toutes les personnes qui ont vu leur windows disparaitre ne veulent plus se servir de l'automatisme.
Rappel, cet automatisme a quand même un défaut, il continue d'utiliser la totalité du disque, lorsque maintenant un disque fait 8 TO, cela semble beaucoup pour une partition / qui peut tenir dans un espace 1000 fois plus petit. C'est pour cela qu'il  ne faut plus  laisser ubuntu coloniser la totalité du disque, Ce n'est plus à la mode!

Moi aussi je te conseille de faire l'installation en "manuel", c'est à dire de sélectionner "Autre chose" à l'étape "Type d'installation". C'est bien ce qui est mis en œuvre dans le tuto "efi un jeu d'enfant" du site "Libre à Quimperlé" que Bougron t'a déjà proposé dans le post #2
Et comme ce tuto explique tout de A à Z, je ne crois pas que tu auras des difficultés. Ce tuto a été écrit pour une cohabitation avec Windows 8 mais ceux qui l'ont suivi pour une cohabitation avec Windows 10 n'ont pas signalé de pb. Tu peux l'utiliser sans crainte.

EDIT : dans ta signature, tu as mentionné "Laptop Asus X751LAB" et i3-4005U - 1.70ghz. Je ne trouve pas de modèle qui réponde à cette désignation et qui soit équipé du processeur i3-4005U. Pourrais-tu revérifier le nom de ton modèle et donner le nom COMPLET de ton modèle ou bien donner un lien vers une page où on peut voir ton modèle ?

Sur la base de X751LAV et de Core i3-4005U, je ne trouve que le modèle ASUS X751LAV-TY481T qu'on peut voir sur cette page ou bien le modèle X751LAV-TY512T (visible )

Oui, en effet, je viens de galerer avec un dvd ubuntu qui s'avere deffectueux, du coup je tente mint17, j'ai bien tout monté comme sur ton tuto mais pas moyen de trouver EFI, sur l'autre tuto c'est wds8 et ça ne semble pas être exactement pareil.

Je rentente la manip avec un dvd ubuntu14.04.3, sachant que sur le tuto EFI sur wds10 l'option EFI n'est pas proposée, seulement "cd" ça veut dire que le mode EFI est activé?

Avant de faire une installation, fais un essai avec "try before installing" et fabriques un boot-info dont tu posteras l'URL   https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
Au vu de tout ce que tu décris, il est possible que l'environnement ne soit pas totalement EFI  pour l'installateur de ubuntu. Avec ce boot-info on saura...

Il n'est pas positionné en EFI. Il doit l'être car windows a été installé en EFI
Puisque le disque  a une table de partition GPT

Donc windows doit booter correctement car il dispose d'une partition FAT32 dans un disque GPT. Cela suffit au bonheur du bios EFI et de windows.

MAIS pas du tout à l'installateur de ubuntu qui veut une partition avec un drapeau boot  Mais on ne va pas le contrarier.     On va lui en faire une.

A) Tu vas dans le bios   et tu fais le nécessaire que qu'il boote en EFI et si ton cdrom ne boote pas, il faut traiter la chose, Mais il faut booter en EFI.   Au besoin utilises une clé USB.

B)   Tu fais de nouveau "essayer avant d'installer"

C) Tu lances l'application GPARTED qui est présente et tu mets un drapeau 'boot"  sur la partition SDA1.  N'oublies pas de valider l'action.

D) Tu refais un boot-info   au cas où... et tu donnes URL

E) Dans la foulée, tu enchaînes sur l'installation.
   Si tu as bien corrigé les deux choses, cela va passer.

Pas WD10, mais avec ton bios :
trouves y une entrée qui amorce en mode EFI (cd/dvd ; usb)

Dans ton Bios (tu y accèdes en pressant la touche Echap au démarrage), dans l'onglet Boot, il faut que "Fast Boot" soit sur "Disabled" et que "Launch CSM" soit sur "Disabled" également (ce qui va désactiver le mode de compatibilité Bios de sorte que ton ordi ne puisse démarrer sur ton support Live qu'en mode EFI uniquement alors que dans le Boot-Info, on voit qu'il démarre en mode Bios c'est à dire non-EFI) ---> photo

Ok, c'est donc fait, les réglages avaient été changés avec la hotline pour pouvoir démarrer sur cd (?), en revanche je ne trouve pas d'EFI nulle part

Cela peut très bien être cela. Mais le fichier, il faut que tu navigues pour aller le chercher dans le DVD
il est dans le répertoire /EFI/boot et  c'est bootx64.efi.
