Gel de l'ordi au branchement 2e écran sur un zenbook UX305C (HD515)
Bonjour à tous,
Je suis bien embêté... C'est aujourd'hui l'anniversaire de ma moitié et je lui ai offert un ultraportable ASUS, le zenbook UX305C.
La 16.04 tourne comme un charme dessus à l’exception de la sortie vidéo.
Lorsqu'on branche via un adaptateur microHDMI-> VGA, le deuxième écran s'affiche (joie) mais les couleurs ne sont pas les bonnes (moins cool) et immanquablement l'ordi se fige après quelques secondes (inacceptable pour un ordi pour le boulot où les vidéoproj sont tous en VGA). Je n'ai plus accès à rien (Ctrl+Alt+F1 inaccessible par exemple).
La carte graphique est une intel HD Graphics 515 (Skylake GT2). Il n'y a qu'une sortie microHDMI sur le portable.
Les solutions que j'ai explorées :
- J'ai changé l'adaptateur microHDMI->VGA par un neuf d'une autre marque, symptômes identiques.
- J'ai essayé d'installer les derniers drivers intel, mais ils refusent l'installation sur la bêta de 16.04.
- Depuis un live USB de 15.10, les symptômes sont les mêmes.

pas de solution à proposer, je n'ai pas ce matériel.
Mais une info à partager, qui peut être une piste de réflexion : il me semble que intel a retiré le support du VGA sur certain de ses chipsets récents...

Merci pour ta réponse exzemat, la psite à l'air sérieuse. Pourtant, comment puis-je avoir une image qui s'affiche sur le second écran (avant que tout ne gel...) si le signal n'est pas émis par le chipset?
En tout cas, je creuse cette idée d'adaptateur actif... puisque s'ils existent, c'est bien que quelque chose à changé. Je vais trouver ça chez un revendeur et tester la solution.

bonne remarque, si quelque chose s'affiche sur le périphérique VGA, c'est qu'il reçoit bien un signal analogique.
Soit un signal analogique est quand même généré par le chipset mais pas totalement compatible VGA, soit ton adaptateur fait ce travail, peut être pas parfaitement.
Dans tous les cas, à la réflexion, ça me parait bizarre que le pc freeze pour un problème analogique/numérique : le périphérique ne devrait rien recevoir comme signal et c'est tout...

avec ce chipset pour les kernel <4.3, ce qui pourrait expliquer ce freeze avec ubuntu 14.04/15.10 ... mais pas avec ubuntu 16.04:

de plus, dans le log que tu as fourni, le kernel semble être en 3.13 (ubuntu 14.04 ?), or le support de ce chipset n'est (prétendument) complet que depuis 4.3:

il vaut donc mieux continuer tes tests avec ubuntu 16.04 et voir si, avec cette version, le pc freeze uniquement avec l'adaptateur vga ou s'il freeze aussi en branchant un périphérique hdmi...
il y a un bug ouvert pour un problème de freeze avec un adaptateur hdmi/vga avec ce chipset, y compris pour les kernel >4.3 :

malheureusement sans solutions proposées a défaut de savoir qui incriminer (adaptateur ? driver ?)
si tu as encore accès à un windows, ce serait peut être bien de l'inclure dans tes tests ...

Pour le kernel en place, c'est le 4.4, il est visible sur la ligne en dessous de celle que tu cites... D'ailleurs, je ne comprends pas cette double appellation (Build OS et Current OS).

Je le reçois dans plusieurs jours, mais en regardant plusieurs de ces adaptateurs, j'ai eu une idée: certains disposent d'une prise usb pour alimenter probablement le chipset de l'adaptateur et d'autres non... Est-il possible que ne disposant pas d'assez d’énergie, le chipset de ceux que j'aurai déjà envoie quelques infos à l'écran et déclare ensuite forfait en renvoyant des infos délirantes au PC ce qui provoquerait le gel de l'affichage?

les ports hdmi ont une sortie 5V, comme les ports USB. Je ne sais pas exactement quelle puissance (W) chacun peut sortir, mais il est certain que l'USB peut délivrer beaucoup plus...
même si il est marqué un peu partout sur internet qu'un convertisseur hdmi vers vga est forcément actif (dernier lien de mon dernier post par exemple) je n'en suis pas certain : le hdmi est compatible dvi-i, c'est à dire qu'il peut véhiculer un signal numérique ET analogique. Un adaptateur basique peut donc a priori récupérer le signal analogique pour le transmettre en VGA, à condition qu'il y ait bien un tel signal (ce dont je ne suis pas certain avec un chipset skylake), un tel adaptateur aura peut être besoin d'un tout petit peu de courant pour pouvoir isoler le signal analogique du numérique et encore, ce n'est pas sûr. Par contre, si la sortie hdmi ne délivre pas de signal analogique (parce que le chipset interne ne produit pas ce signal), l'adaptateur doit convertir le signal numerique en analogique, ce qui a mon avis nécessite quelques watt..
pour ce qui est du gel de l'affichage, je ne suis vraiment pas certain que ce soit lié à un adaptateur en particulier, au vu du nombre de bug reportés sur bugzilla qui mentionne un freeze ("hang") avec ce chipset skylake au branchement de tout et n'importe quoi comme écran sur l'hdmi ou l'usb5 (pour ceux qui ont un port usb5).
as tu as essayé de désactiver l’accélération 3D comme conseillé sur le wiki de arch (DRI sur "false") ? qu'est ce que ça donne ?
la toute toute dernière version du kernel, qui intègre un patch du driver intel, semble avoir régler certains problèmes de double écran pour certains :
