Bonjour.
Gparted en sait pas copier une partition dans une partition plus petite, ou dans un espace disque non alloué plus petit.
Si le SSD est trop petit pour y copier les partitions faites sur le hdd de 500 Go lorsque tu vas installer.
On peut te guider pour utiliser un logiciel de copie de système d'un disque à l'autre.
Je fais allusion à "Systemback" que Bougron a testé.
Oui, je parle des tailles de partitions.
Contrairement à Gparted qui ne sait pas copier des grandes partitions dans des plus petites, il ne sait pas copier non plus une partition de grande taille dans un espace disque non alloué plus petit que la partition.
Bon, on peut toujours diminuer la taille des partitions à copier avec Gparted avant de faire la copie. Mais on fait prendre de risque au données, il faut faire des sauvegarde sur support autre que celui d'installation par précaution.
Copier le système installé dans des partitions plus petites, Systemback, lui sait le faire. La taille des partitions qui reçoivent la copie doit être un peu plus grande que la taille des données à copier.
Il fait aussi le changement des UUID des partitions dans la copie et réinstalle Grub. À Bougron de confirmer qu'il réinstalle avec un Grub-efi.
Et si çà ne suffit pas pour y arriver, on peut utiliser la commande cp pour copier de partitions source à partition cible.
Comme Systemback, on peut copier le contenu d'une grande partition dans une plus petite. Il faut juste que la taille des partitions qui reçoivent la copie soit un peu plus grande que la taille des donnés à copier. C'est plus souple qu'avec Gparted.
Après dans la copie on change les UUID des partitions dans le fichier /etc/fstab de la copie, pour ceux des partition cibles.
Après il faut réinstaller Grub, mais comme tu vas faire tout çà avec des installation en mode UEFI, c'est Bougron qui va confirmer, que l'on peut utiliser Boot-Repair pour la réinstallation de Grub-efi dans l'os copié sur le SSD.

Gparted fonctionne très bien lorsqu'il y a du courant électrique. Avec la version 16.04 il sait enfin traiter correctement les partitions FAT32. C'est la méthode simple lorsqu'on la copie est sur le même site....
Dans ce contexte, on va se trouver avec un disque dur contenant les données de l'utilisateur. Ce n'est même pas sur que la partition /home soit créée, D'ailleurs en standard, l'installateur de ubuntu n'en fabrique pas.
Il restera juste à traiter l'éventuelle présence de la partition swap que certains ne souhaitent pas voir sur SSD.

Il arrive enfin à réduire la taille des partition FAT32? .
Chez moi avec la 14.04, en live ou installé, çà ne fonctionne pas, Gparted plante.

Je n'en suis pas encore là, Bougron ! On verra ça en temps voulu ! (Quand mon système provisoire marchera, mais oui oui je vois le principe, après ya la réalisation...)
Revenons à mon installation.
Tu me dis que le disque était bien vierge.......
Je n'en suis pas sur du tout. Merci de confirmer que tu le croyais sans partition.
Le disque était vide de données, mais il n'était pas formaté et devais avoir une partition ntfs.
Je ne l'ai pas formaté auparavant et j'ai utilisé "Effacer le disque et installer Ubuntu" à l'étape "Type d'installation".
Pour ce coup-ci, j'ai bien créé la table de partition GPT et refait l'instal. Tout se passe bien jusqu'au moment de redémarrer l'ordi.
==> au démarrage, je reste sur l'écran violet avec le logo ubuntu qui charge, mais il ne se passe rien. (j'ai encore laissé une bonne 1/2h).
De même en démarrant le liveUSB en mode normal, il se passe exactement la même chose.
En mode UEFI, par contre, j'arrive sans difficulté sur la session.
Je refais un rapport boot ? ou autre chose ?

Je suis d'accord avec toi pour la version 14.04.4 mais ce n'est plus le cas avec la 16.04.... (enfin peut-être qu'il y aura des exceptions) Mais cela fait déjà plusieurs fois que je fais sans échec. alors qu'avec la version 14.04.4 c'était le plantage assuré.

Mais il y une limite minima de taille... Je suis en train de la rechercher.. Le message d'erreur est très parlant http://hpics.li/5fde77f , Je pense qu'on peut passer outre Mais il s'opérerait une conversion en FAT16!!!!
en windows10, cette limite est de 37 Mo, Mais elle est supérieure avec ubuntu voir très supérieure et proche de 512 Mo!!!!!
En rétrécissant une partition de 172 Go à 512 Mo, il m'a posé une question =>J'avais le choix entre FAT16 et FAT32.
Mais c'est un faux problème, cette partition elle sera taillée correctement lors de sa création.

Refais un boot-info afin qu'on voit que l'installation est bien faite. Il ne faudrait que cela soit un problème de changement de nature de boot qui en soit la cause.
et dans la foulée, fait un boot-repair en mettant l'option NOMODESET voir paragraphe 6.2 de https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/kernel

Ensuite, j'ai mis l'option NOMODESET dans boot-repait, comme la doc l'indique. Au passage, j'ai eu la même notif que précedemment concernant l'UEFI au début du disque, j'ai quand même mis yes aussi.

Tu as totalement raté la conversion de format du disque de msdos en GPT....
as-tu bien fais faire l'exécution par l'onglet édition 'faire toutes les opérations en attente'..

le HD est bien GPT et c'est normal que la clé soit MSDOS.
Quel que soit le résultat, fais un boot-info. Cela permettra de savoir s'il sait maintenant créer la partition FAT32 de boot ou s'il la fabrique en FAT16.... ou pas du tout ou s'il retransforme le disque en MSDOS!
Pour babdu89, Je viens de découvrir que cela ne sert strictement à rien de définir la partition de swap dans le fichier /etc/fstab!!!

J'ai populé la partition FAT32 et vais la rétrécir en acceptant le passage en FAT16.....
Rappel; Je sais que si on la met trop petite et qu'on dise à certains bios EFI de booter avec cette partition, ils nous "répondent" que la taille est trop petite pour contenir les fichiers de boot de windows!!!!!!
Je vais tenter de voir si le mien est dans ce cas.

Effectivement Gparted avec la 16.04 réduit la taille des partition FAT32 . (v0.25.0 et v0.25.1)

J'ai donc réussi à réduire à 64 Mo la taille de la partition. Elle est passée en FAT16 sans perdre le contenu......Mais en prenant plus de 13 minutes pour s'exécuter!!
J'ai donc fais une épuration drastique en ne conservant que quasiment le strict minima. J'ai donc demandé de réduire à 3 Mo.......
Refus: Il faut un minima de 16 Mo! Qu'à cela ne tienne mais il faudra probablement attendre la version 20.04!

Le système est opérationnel.
Les données du premier HD (300 Go sur ubuntu 12) sont au chaud et classées sur mon HD temporaire (500Go), le formatage est fait.
Je fais pareil avec le 2ème HD (1T donc il va falloir jongler sur les 2 autres petits HD).
Je reviens vers vous quand j'aurai le SSD d'ici une dizaine de jours je pense, et qu'il sera question de copier mon système.
D'ores et déjà, je pense y mettre cette fois-ci une partition pour un win7 (Madame en a besoin pour des raisons professionnelles), de 120 Go, et l'autre ben évidemment ubuntu sur le reste du disque (120 Go aussi).
Pas mal de docu à lire donc d'ici là.
En tout cas merci de votre aide.

Je suis inquiet à la vue du mot "'windows7"...... Ne pourrais-tu pas remplacer par windows10?
La raison de mon inquiétude: Tu te prépares certainement à installer le logiciel de windows...... et 90% des versions windows7 sont incompatibles EFI ..

Je n'ai toujours pas reçu à ce jour mon SSD, mais ça ne devrait plus tarder maintenant !
Je me suis un peu lâché dans la commande, et j'ai pris dans le même temps un HD WD Red 2To (en fait 2 même), que j'ai bien réceptionné.
J'ai donc pas fait dans la dentelle, les données personnelles sont sur le 2To, que j'ai partitionné en NTFS en vue de pouvoir y accéder avec windobe.
@Bougron : oui c'est possible que j'installe win10.
J'ai d'ailleurs lu pas mal de docs (j'ai eu le temps depuis mon problème), et suis encore un peu incertain sur la méthodologie. Me conseillez-vous d'installer d'abord win10 puis ubuntu 16, ou l'inverse ? (le tout en EFI)
Je pencherai pour windows en 1er car ubuntu a l'air d'être prévu pour être installé à côté d'un autre système (en tout cas de prévoir ce cas là). Mais je suis friand de vos éclairages.
Concernant le le copiage du système vers un disque plus petit, ça fait maintenant bien 3 semaines que je n'ai plus mes petits repères d'avant. Globalement, même si mon utilisation est moins fluide que par le passé, je m'y retrouve avec un système bien plus stable.
Donc une installation basique devrait me convenir, à laquelle je rajouterai mes ".logiciels" que j'ai envie. Et le tour sera joué, non ?
Enfin il restera le paramétrage du HD WD Red 2 To comme serveur Upnp; mais c'est une autre histoire

Voici où j'en suis :
les données sont au chaud sur un disque débranché de l'ordi.
J'ai un SSD avec une moitié pour win10, l'autre pour ubuntu 16.04, partitionné ainsi (j'arrondi pour les tailles de partitions) :
sda1 - ntfs - 100 Mo - réservé au système - boot
sda2 - ntfs - 110 Go (c'est mon win10)
sda3 - ntfs - 450 Mo (créé par windows. C'est soit par défaut sur win10, soit pour rebasculer vers win7. Je ne sais pas trop. dans Gparted est affiché le drapeau "diag" )
sda4 - extended - 110 Go (donc mon ubuntu)
sda5 - ext4 - 106 Go
sda6 - swap - 5Go (du classique quoi)
J'ai commencé par installer win10 (en fait win7puis maj pour arriver sur win10).
Au passage j'ai laissé tomber le mode EFI (ça m'a saoulé sur win, et puis j'ai mis tellement de temps à avoir un win10 fonctionnel que ça me ferait mal de recommencer)
Du coup, dans le bios, j'ai désactiver l'UEFI (le secure boot, le lauch CMS active... j'ai suivihttps://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1104551 en m'adaptant pour pas avoir de problème à l'install d'ubuntu.
Plus de trace d'UEFI dans le bios actuellement donc, et windows tourne bien.
J'installe donc ubuntu à partir d'un live CD (cette fois-ci). Sans encombre, je dois redémarrer.
Au redémarrage, le grub me demande ubuntu ou win.
Lorsque je choisi, ubuntu, écran violet, et basta. (Pas de soucis pour win)
Donc je me dis un problème de grub, un coup de repair boot et le tour est joué ?
Oui mais faut-il mettre grub sur sda1 ou sda5 ?

Le grub est très bien installé. D'ailleurs tu le dis, puisque tu es capable de lancer windows avec le grub et qu'il lance aussi ubuntu . Ce qui te permet d'afficher un écran violet qui est caractéristique de l'égo de ubuntu se croyant capable de gérer l'écran graphique que tu possèdes en se passant des drivers du propriétaire.
car la mise en route se fait par défaut avec la commande

Cela devrait te permettre de booter puis d'installer le pilote propriétaire.
Sinon tu peux aussi utiliser boot-repair afin d'ajouter l'option NOMODESET dans la première ligne de boot. C'est décrit au paragraphe 6.2 du document https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/kernel dans la rubrique "ajouter une option au noyau"

C'est effectivement incompréhensible que cela ait bien fonctionné il y a 3 semaines et plus maintenant
Ce n'est pas la peine de tenter avec les options upstart car il me semble qu'à partir de la version 14.04.3 il a été supprimé de ubuntu.
J'ai noté "carte mere ASUS P8H77-M, avec une carte graphique intégree".
Malheureusement je crains que cela soit un panne aléatoire..
Ce que tu peux faire c'est installer un autre OS que ubuntu pour voir si cela fonctionne.....

les variantes d'ubuntu sont en téléchargement. Je te tiendrai au courant
En attendant, les seules différences notables entre ma dernière install et celle-ci (mis à part la présence de W10) est que la première s'est faite sur un live USB en mode EFI et celle-ci en live CD non-EFI, le tout à partir du même fichier .iso (ubuntu 16.04 desktop amd64).
Le liveCD, s'il a mis du temps à s'afficher, est quand même passé.
N'y aurait-il pas moyen de choper les paramètres de boot du live (qui sont génériques pour une maxi compatibilité justement), et les réinjecter dans la procédure de boot de mon ubuntu ?
(en gros ajouter/enlever/modifier dans la ligne de boot du grub ?)
