Extinction de l'écran après login et activité

Bonjour

Sous Ubuntu 14.04 (avec ou sans Mate), je rencontre le nouveau problème suivant :

Je démarre et me connecte normalement, jusqu'à l'affichage de mon bureau.
Dès que je bouge la souris ou tape sur une touche, l'écran s'éteint.
Si je change l'alimentation (batterie <-> secteur), l'écran se réactive au bout d'une vingtaine de secondes, mais ça recommence si je bouge la souris ou tape sur une touche.

Je ne peux donc pas afficher les fichiers /etc/X11/xorg.conf et /var/log/Xorg.0.log sauf si vous m'indiquez une astuce pour y parvenir...

En démarrant en "recovery mode", avec "resume"  (il est dit que "certains pilotes graphiques ne peuvent démarrer ainsi"), je ne rencontre plus de problème, sauf une définition peut-être un peu moins bonne.

Mais dans ce mode, je ne vois pas de fichier xorg.conf

ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.conf 
ls: impossible d'accéder à /etc/X11/xorg.conf: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

Essaie de démarrer sans le mode "recovery" mais en ajoutant le paramètre "nomodeset" au moment du GRUB.
Ta définition d'écran devrait être similaire à celle du mode "recovery", mais tu seras connecté dans ta session normale...
Il y a peut-être un problème de pilote CG alternatif à mettre en place pour ton matériel.


Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...
Excellente raison pour, aujourd'hui qu'on le peut, utiliser au maximum les INTERFACES GRAPHIQUES !

Je ne sais comment tu as affiché cet écran...
L'utilisation "classique" de "nomodeset" :
Lorsque tu es sur l'écran de choix de GRUB, tu tapes la lettre "e" pour éditer les commandes de lancement.
Tu te places sur la ligne où figure "quiet splash" et tu ajoutes l'option "nomodeset" devant le guillemet final (avec un espace entre splash et nomodeset).
Il existe peut-être aussi d'autres manières de procéder, en cochant cette option dans une liste qui s'affiche en appuyant sur une touche Fx.
Puis tu continues le démarrage. Tu verras défiler une flopée de lignes jusqu'à l'apparition de l'écran d'identification pour ouvrir la session.


Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...

J'avais affiché l'écran en tapant la lettre "e" sur l'écran de choix de GRUB...

J'ajoute donc nomodeset après quiet splash et un espace, mais on ne le voit pas sur la photo, il n'y a pas de guillemets.

Cela semble régler le problème : mille mercis !

Mais est-ce une solution définitive ? J'aurais bien voulu comprendre pourquoi je dois l'appliquer...

Non, ce n'est pas une solution définitive, elle ne vaut que pour la connexion en cours.
Tu peux la pérenniser si elle te satisfait, en insérant ce paramètre "nomodeset" dans le fichier /etc/default/grub, toujours sur la ligne avec "quiet splash", suivi pour que la modification soit prise en compte de :

sudo update-grub

Mais en général, cette option est utilisée pour avoir une interface graphique (dégradée) permettant de travailler plus à l'aise et d'installer un pilote de carte graphique plus approprié à ton matériel.
Regarde dans "Logiciels et mises à jour", onglet "Pilotes additionnels" (ou directement un choix du menu "Pilotes additionnels"). Tu attends un petit moment, car la recherche n'est pas instantanée... Si des pilotes existent pour ton matériel, le système te les propose, à toi de choisir celui qui semble le plus adéquat.

Ok, merci.

J'avais déjà regardé dans les pilotes additionnels, mais il n'y a rien concernant la carte graphique, seulement un pilote Wifi.

Bonjour

Après avoir mis le paramètre nomodeset de manière définitive, selon les conseils, le PC a bien fonctionné pendant 2 semaines.

Puis, soudain, sans même que je fasse de mise à jour (je n'avais pas de connexion à l'internet), après un reboot et sélection d'Ubuntu standard sur le menu Grub, plus aucun affichage : le menu Grub reste affiché et rien ne l'efface ni ne s'affiche.  Le souci est donc en amont du problème initial, mais très similaire.

En démarrant en recovery mode, toujours avec le message avertissant que des pilotes d'écran ne pourront pas être chargés (une chance !), il n'y a aucun problème et la définition est tout aussi bonne qu'avant. Mais c'est plus compliqué...

J'ai revérifié qu'il n'y a pas de pilote tiers activés ni disponible, et je n'ai rien changé à la configuration depuis ce qui a été indiqué au début du fil.

Est-ce qu'il y aurait au moins une possibilité d'avoir par défaut la même chose que le recovery mode sans taper 5 ou 6 fois sur une touche comme l'impose ce mode, sans charger le pilote défectueux donc  ?
