Supprimer entièrement Windows 10 pour passer intégralement à Ubuntu

Bonjour à tous. Cela fait maintenant deux ans que je suis dans mon école et la plupart de mes profs nous conseillent de passer sous linux (pour tout les bons avantages que cela apporte et afin d'utiliser des logiciels propre à linux), et plus particulièrement Ubuntu (tout les pcs de l'école en sont équipés). J'ai déjà essayé à travers différents événements organisé de passer en Dual Boot, mais ça n'a jamais fonctionné, et je veux donc virer tout windows 10 à partir de l'installation d'Ubuntu. Mon pc a trois ans, il est passé de Windows 8 à Windows 10. Je ne me sers pas particulièrement de windows, c'est pour ça que ça ne me pose aucun problème de faire le grand saut.

Cependant je ne m'y connais pas trop dans ce domaine, et je voulais savoir si le simple fait de mettre Ubuntu bootable sur une clef, suivre les instructions à la lettre (effacer tout les autres disques etc ...) n'engendrait pas des complications sur mon pc même, avec les mesures prises par windows prises pour rendre tout compliqué (UEFI etc ..)...

Je l'ai en effet déjà fait pour le vieil ordi d'un ami qui ne fonctionnait plus très bien sous windows 7, je l'ai passé sous Xubuntu et il n'y a aucune complication.

De plus j'ai encore une licence windows 7 que je pourrai installer ensuite en dual boot à partir d'Ubuntu si jamais Windows me manque ... (si c'est possible ?)

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Pour éviter de répondre à côté de la plaque, je souhaiterais que tu donnes le nom complet (*) du modèle de ton ordi et son fabricant. Si tu peux donner un lien vers une page où on peut voir ce modèle, ça me va très bien.

(*) par exemple "ASUS G741JM-T4046H" et pas seulement le début du nom "ASUS G741JM", le but étant d'identifier précisément le modèle et non pas une famille de modèles.

La première chose à faire c'est bien connaitre ton PC, proceseur, quantité de mémoire vive, modèle...
Ceci permettra de savoir quelle version d'ubuntu serait la plus conseillée pour ton pc (version 32 bits ou 64 bits ? - dépend de ton processeur et de la ram dont tu disposes).
Connaître aussi ton "bios" (UEFI ou LEGACY)
Connaître la taille de ton disque dur (table des partitions de type msdos ou gpt)

Une fois que la version d'ubuntu sera choisie, la télécharger (si possible via torrent) pour récupérer un fichier .iso (par exemple ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso - ubuntu est la version avec bureau unity, 16.04 est la version LTS sortie en avril 2016 et le .1 est la mise à jour cumulative de juillet, desktop signifie que tu as une version desktop et non serveur et amd64 est la version 64bits)
Voir dans la doc comment créer un DVD bootable ou avoir une clé usb bootable avec ubuntu.

Puis enfin démarrer le pc sur le dvd (ou clé usb) et choisir l'option démarrer Ubuntu sans installer - C'est ce qu'on appelle lancer une session "Live". Dans ce mode tu pourras tester ubuntu (grossièrement car ce mode est moins performant qu'après installation), reconnaissance affichage, liaison éthernet, (le wifi n'est pas forcément opérationnel car si ta carte wifi est détectée, les pilotes ne sont pas forcément présents dans le dvd(clé) mais peuvent être téléchargés en filaire)

Le mode "Live" est l'occasion de faire un diagnostic poussé de la machine ("boot info") qui indiquera le mode de démarrage (bios/uefi), le type de partitionnement du disque...

Par la suite il sera possible depuis la session "Live" d'installer ubuntu. Personnellement je préfère cette façon à une installation directe car en mode Live tu peux consulter ce forum, aller sur internet...

Merci à tous pour vos réponses !! Alors l'ordi qui s'en rapproche le plus c'est le HP Pavilion g6 2332sf (je ne retrouve pas exactement le mien), j'ai un système d'exploitation 64 bits, processeur x64, 6 Go de RAM. Merci Nasman pour tout ces détails ! J'ai un bios UEFI. Merci pour tout ces détails techniques, je vais m'en préoccuper ce week end, je reviendrai vers vous !!

HP est un fabricant qui verrouille le démarrage de ses ordis sur Windows quand le mode de démarrage est sur UEFI (paramétrage par défaut). Mais ce verrouillage n'existe plus si on change le paramétrage du "Bios" pour utiliser l'ordi en mode non-UEFI (j'écris non-EFI par la suite mais ça veut dire la même chose) c'est à dire en mode Bios classique. Ce n'est pas du tout évident et c'est pourquoi le jour où tu voudras te lancer, je te prie de faire un essai en session live de Ubuntu 16.04.1 64 bits (Essayer Ubuntu sans l'installer), faire un Boot-Info depuis cette session live et donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans un post que tu feras dans la présente discussion. Comme ça nous pourrons vérifier que tu arrives bien à démarrer ta session live en mode non-EFI et aussi vérifier d'autres points avant que tu attaques l'installation.

* pour faire une LiveUSB, utilise ma recette.

Si tu installes en mode bios, et si ton disque a une table des partitions de type gpt (ce type de table est indispensable pour les disques durs de plus de 2 Tio), alors il te faudra une petite partition supplémentaire (1 Mio suffit) avec le drapeau bios boot pour pouvoir lancer ubuntu.

La raison en est la suivante :
L'amorceur de démarrage grub-pc s'installe pour partie dans le mbr (1er secteur du disque) puis le reste est placé dans les secteurs suivants pour une table des partitions de type msdos. Pour une table gpt, ces secteurs sont déjà occupés et il faut une partition bios boot pour placer le reste (core.img).
Le reste du démarrage se situe généralement dans la partition système ubuntu (dans /boot/grub)

En mode de démarrage uefi, le contenu du mbr n'est pas utilisé et le système a besoin d'une partition en fat32 avec le drapeau efi (ou esp) pour placer les fichiers de démarrage, le reste continue dans /boot/grub

Nasman comment je peux faire pour connaître le type de la table des partitions ? et comment créer une petite partition supplémentaire avec le drapeau bios boot ?

Très bien je vais suivre tout ça à la lettre Malbo. J'avais déjà quelque trucs sur le forum auparavant, je ne peux pas simplement désactiver le démarrage rapide de W10, allez dans le BIOS et changer le mode UEFI ?

Oui, tu dois faire ça. Mais même après avoir fait ça, ce n'est pas gagné. Aussi, je t'encourage à faire ce que j'ai expliqué dans mon post #6.

Attention
depuis windows 8 le bios a beaucoup changé et est devenu assez compliqué......alors va'z'i mollo pour ne pas faire de conneries
cela a failli m'arriver avec un Acer chez un copain et pourtant avant windows 8 je tripatouillais tranquille dans les bios mais maintenant je ne touche plus tout ce qui est microsoft

C'est à dire que tu as bien désactivé Secure Boot, ça c'est parfait, mais que tu as démarré la session live en mode EFI et ça ne va pas : il faut que tu parviennes à démarrer en mode non-EFI comme j'ai indiqué dans les posts précédents. Pour cela, il faut que tu autorises dans ton Bios "Legacy support" ( si ton Bios est en français, ce paramètre peut s'appeler "Assistance pour anciens équipements" ) comme indiqué dans ce post
Un truc pratique pour savoir si ta session est bien démarrée en mode non-EFI (que ce soit une session live ou même une session d'un Ubuntu installé) : tu passes la commande suivante dans un terminal (source) : 

[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"

Si le résultat de cette commande qui s'affiche dans le terminal est "Session non-EFI", tu as gagné. Fais un Boot-Info et donne l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse pour que je puisse vérifier. Mais si le résultat est "Session EFI", tu as encore merdé. Recommence jusqu'à ce que tu obtiennes "Session non-EFI"

Bonjour.
C'est quand même dommages  de supprimer windows de cet ordinateur car la société en question n'a pas mis la clé sous le paillasson. Elle est même en train qu'acquérir 'ubuntu"   en catimini.

Je trouve que tu te prépares un gros travail pour éviter d'appuyer sur les touches ESC F9 au démarrage du   micro. Mais  c'est toi qui voit.

J'ai quelques petits problèmes .. J'ai bien fait tout les réglages dans mon BIOS, cependant quand je fais le test EFI dans le terminal il y a toujours écrit "Session EFI". j'ai redémarrer trois fois mon ordinateur mais rien n'y change. Et je n'arrive plus à créer d'adresse URL pour mon boot-info, alors que je suis exactement les mêmes étapes qu'avant...

La photo ne s'affiche pas dans mon ancien post ? Mon BIOS est bien en Anglais, j'ai bien mis "Legacy Support" sur "Enabled". Je ne comprend pas. En faisant des recherches j'ai vu qu'on pouvait également appuyer sur F2 au démarrage de l'ordinateur, et ça me fait arriver dans une interface propre à UEFI. Mais j'ai l'impression que ça ne contient que des informations sur UEFI et pas de quoi le désactiver ...

Je te propose la procédure suivante (la LiveUSB étant connectée) :
Tu presses la touche F9 et tu la maintiens pressée. Puis tu démarres l'ordi en maintenant toujours la touche F9 pressée. Quand le Boot Menu apparaît, tu peut relâcher la touche F9. Dans ce Boot Menu, tu dois pouvoir sélectionner ta LiveUSB. Elle apparaît à deux endroits : avec UEFI en tête (ce n'est pas ça qu'il faut choisir) et sans UEFI en tête (c'est ça qu'il faut choisir).

Pas de préparation de partitions à faire : l'installateur de Ubuntu fera tout automatiquement. Tu auras juste à lancer l'installation depuis ta session live. A l'étape "Type d'installation", cocher "Effacer le disque et installer Ubuntu" mais ne PAS cocher la case "Chiffrer la nouvelle installation de Ubuntu pour la sécurité et ne PAS cocher la case "Utiliser LVM pour la nouvelle installation de Ubuntu" : ce sont des fonctionnalités merdiques. Tout ce qu'il y a actuellement sur le disque dur sera écrasé. Une nouvelle table de partition - du type MSDOS au lieu du type GPT actuel - sera créée et le partitionnement sera fait automatiquement sans que tu aies à lever un doigt. Au redémarrage, ça devrait démarrer automatiquement sur Ubuntu installé sur le disque dur.

Je veux te prévenir que ce ne sera pas possible de réinstaller Windows 7 en dual-boot si tu appliques la procédure que je viens de détailler. Alors si tu maintiens ce besoin, il faut que tu installes dès à présent Windows 7, que tu vérifies qu'il fonctionne bien. Et seulement ensuite, que tu installes Ubuntu en dual-boot (évidemment, ce sera une autre procédure que la procédure automatique que je viens de proposer)

Bien je vais suivre ça à la lettre.

Il n'y a pas une autre méthode pendant l'installation d'ubuntu pour anticiper un éventuel Dual Boot ? Je ferai une machine virtuelle si j'ai besoin de Windows au pire, je vais y réfléchir smile

Si c'est vraiment important pour toi d'avoir Windows dans cette machine, je me range à l'avis très sage de Bougron dans le post #13 : je te conseille de conserver ton Windows 10 actuel et d'installer Ubuntu en dual-boot avec Windows 10.
