grub 2 s'affiche à chaque démarrage, problème dans le terminal

bonjour,
je souhaiterais qu grub 2 ne s'affiche plus à chaque fois

voici ce que j'ai tapé dans le terminal

/home/ubuntu>GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
/home/ubuntu>sudo udapte-grub
[sudo] Mot de passe de ubuntu : 
sudo: udapte-grub : commande introuvable

c'est une des premières fois que j'utilise le terminal, mais il me semble que normalement le terminal demande le mot de passe à chaque fois qu'on l'ouvre. Et il me semble aussi qu'il doit afficher le nom d'utilisateur plus un $ ou autre chose.
je ne dois pas l'avoir correctement ouvert
comment régler ce problème ?

Je te suggère d'arrêter de jouer les apprentis sorciers et de nous laisser te guider. Pour ce faire, il faut qu'on puisse "voir" ton install aussi je te prie de faire un Boot-Info depuis une session de ton Ubuntu installé et donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Veux-tu parler de la ligne qui te permet de lancer ubuntu en mode normal et de la ligne qui te permet de lancer ubuntu en mode avancé?

'Options avancées pour Ubuntu'

Si oui, comment feras-tu lorsqu'on te demandera de lancer ubuntu en mode avancé pour effectuer des réparations du mode normal?

Tu donneras le retour complet de ces commandes (c'est à dire une copie de tout ce qu'il y a dans le terminal : les deux commandes et leur résultat) dans ta réponse. Tu utiliseras les balises (explications ICI) pour que ce soit plus propre comme présentation (ça apparaîtra en blanc sur noir, comme le Boot-Info que j'ai collé en début de post).

la ligne pour le mode normal lance Ubuntu comme je l'ai fait jusqu'à maintenant. En dessous de l'endroit pour rentrer le mot de passe, il y a écrit "session d'invité"

Quand tu exécutes une commande conseillée par malbo, fais le par copier coller. La proposition était 

sudo apt update

et non 

sudo apt udapte

Normal que ça réponde L'opération udapte n'est pas valable.

la ligne pour le mode normal lance Ubuntu comme je l'ai fait jusqu'à maintenant. En dessous de l'endroit pour rentrer le mot de passe, il y a écrit "session d'invité"
quand je choisis le mode avancé, on me propose

Je pense que c'est la bonne façon de mettre en route.
Ce que tu peux faire , c'est la connexion en automatique   à ton nom.
Il faut cliquer sur la roue crantée en haut à droite puis dans paramètres système et enfin compte utilisateur

PS: Tu vas avoir des mises à jour à faire car le nombre de lignes est insuffisant.

Pour cela modifie le paramétrage de grub, copie colle les commandes suivantes dans un terminal,

restauration de la configuration d'origine :

sudo cp /usr/share/grub/default/grub /etc/default

mets à jour grub et redémarre pour vérifier que le menu grub ne s'affiche plus :

sudo update-grub

si besoin tu peux forcer l'affichage du menu grub en maintenant la touche shift enfoncée au démarrage de l'ordi.

les commandes ont bien fonctionné, le shift me permet également bien de réafficher le menu.

@Bougron:

je ne sais pas à quelle roue tu fais référence. Si c'est celle qui est en haut à droite lors de l'identification, elle ne permet que de mettre en veille et d'éteindre, mais je ne pense pas que tu parles de celle-là.
