[Résolu] Grub/MBR apres installation 3éme OS (XP)
Bonjour,
Jusque hier, j'étais en dual boot:
-Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 64 bit - Mate 1.12.1 et noyau 4.8.0-46-generic x86_64 (catre graphique HD 7750, de mémoire).
-Windows 7 Premium 64 bit.
Pour des besoins professionnels, j'ai installé Windows XP sur une partition libre.
J'ai conscience qu'il soit impératif d'installer w7 et wXP avant Ubuntu, mais bon, comme je possède Boot-Repair-Disk (BRD) sur un CDR bootable, j'ai osé.
Ce qui devait arrivé arriva, j'ai cassé le Grub.
Je l'ai remis, mais je ne peux booter que sur XP (w7 loader) et Ubuntu. Impossible de démarrer sur w7 (je l'utilise rarement, mais j'aimerai que cela soit possible).
D'après Gparted, j'ai à ce jour:
-sda1 100Mio boot
-sda2 111Gio W7
-sdb1 5.6Gio Swap
-sdb2 56Gio WXP
-sdb3 162Gio Ubuntu boot
-sdc1 931Gio Media boot
-sdd1 596Gio SauvW7 boot
Ayant fait quelques essais, je pense avoir installer Grub sur tous le disques durs (sda et sdb sont des SSD, sdc et sdd sont des HDD).
Je suis plutôt novice en GNU/LINUX, même si je l'utilise depuis Lucid Lynx. Comme ça marche bien, je ne bidouille pas. Comme je ne bidouille pas, je n'apprend pas ... CQFD.
Comment pourrais-je faire, via BRD, avoir le choix de booter entre ces 3 OS ?.
Je me suis inscris aujourd'hui, mais je vous lis depuis toujours (12.04 LTS).
Un grand bravo à la communauté !.

Mais tu le fait depuis une session de ton Ubuntu-Mate, (on peut installer Boot-Repair en session installée), pas de boot info depuis une session live BRD.
Que l'on voit le contenu de ta config et surtout le contenu du grub.cfg de ton Ubuntu-Mate.

Grub installé dans le secteur de boot de tous tes disques.
C'est un classique du fonctionnement de Boot-Repair. (fonctionnement en mode Bios_Legacy)
Si on répond ; Non à la question ; "Est-ce que le disque /dev/sd** est un disque amovible?" ... Ben oui, on n'a que des hdd internes dans la config.
Boot-Repair va réinstaller Grub, en mettant la première partie de Grub dans le secteur de boot de tous les disques. Ce qui écrase le MBR compatible Windows, si celui-ci est installé seul sur un des disques de la config.
Si on répond ; Oui à la question, "Est-ce que le disque /dev/sd** est un disque amovible?" Boot-Repair ne va installer la première partie de Grub que dans le disque où est installé l'Os Linux.Pas dans les autres, ce qui préserve le démarrage d'un éventuel Windows installé seul sur son disque.
Oui, çà peut paraître bizarre, mais Boot-Repair fonctionne comme çà.
Si c'est cela, Boot-Repair, en passant par les "Options avancées", sait aussi restaurer un "MBR généric" compatible Windows, sur le disque où est installé un Windows seul.
Ce qui permet à la machine, si le boot se fait sur le disque où est installé Windows seul, de redémarrer directement sur celui-ci.
Mais...
À condition que le boot loader de Windows ne soit pas cassé, là Boot-Repair ne peut plus rien faire. (il ne sait que réinstaller Grub comme il faut, et restaurer un MBR généric dans le secteur de boot du disque où est Windows, pour permettre de redémarrer)
Si c'est cassé. C'est avec les outils Windows qu'il faut réparer le chargeur de démarrage (boot loader) de Windows. On fait un fixmbr et un fixboot, voir si le boot loader de Windows est vraiment bien cassé, une réinstallation de la BCD.
C'est à faire avec le CD d'installation de Windows, ou une console de récupération.

J'ai un boot-info depuis ma session en ayant validé un disque amovible (ce coup ci). <-- pour l'installation avec BRD, j'avais cliqué sur "non" , comme tu l'a deviné.

Oui, si sur le même disque est installé un Windows + un Ubuntu (dual boot)
Non, si sur le disque où est installé Windows, il y est tout seul.
Je n'ai pas lu le boot info, mais on va prendre l'exemple suivant.
Un disque où est Windows7 seul
Un disque où est Windows XP seul.
Un disque où est Ubuntu seul.
Si on restaure un MBR generic compatible Windows dans Windows7, puis WindowsXP.
Il y a des chances que les deux Windows redémarrent depuis leur disque respectif, si leur boot loader n'est pas cassé.
Cette action n'a aucun effet sur le disque où est installé Ubuntu. La machine démarrant sur le disque où est Ubuntu, celui-ci démarre. Mais, ce n'est pas certain pour les Windows à démarrer depuis le menu Grub...

Pourquoi Windows7 ne démarre plus?
Dans les fichiers de boot de la partition Windows7 en /dev/sda2, il me semble qu'il manque les fichiers suivant
/bootmgr /Boot/BCD On les voit dans /dev/sda1.
Mais on voit aussi l'anomalie suivante dans la partition Ubuntu en /dev/sdb3

-------------------------------------------------------L'installation de Ubuntu en dual boot à mal été faite au départ. Grub première partie à été installé dans le secteur de boot de le partition /dev/sdb3. Normalement elle devrait être installée dans le secteur de boot du disque /dev/sdb. (c'est le cas maintenant avec la réinstallation de grub via BRD).
Bon, au début pour que çà fonctionne, je pense que le chaînage à été fait depuis le Wondows7, via EasyBCD, sinon, je ne vois pas comment çà pouvait faire démarrer Ubuntu.
Au démarrage de Windows7 on choisissait Windows ou Ubuntu.
L'installation de Windows Xp, à changé les choses, mais c'est surtout la réinstallation de Grub comme il convient, Grub première partie réinstallé dans le secteur de boot de tous les disques, dont /dev/sdb.
On voit ceci dans le boot info;

Je l'ai remis, mais je ne peux booter que sur XP (w7 loader) et Ubuntu. Impossible de démarrer sur w7 (je l'utilise rarement, mais j'aimerai que cela soit possible).
Tu confirmes que Windows Xp démarre et non Windows7?
Est-ceci qui a modifié le démarrage de Windows7 ? possible,
Je pense qu'il faut attendre d'autres avis de spécialistes des dual boot, pour la réparation des boot loader des Windows. Moi je n'utiliserais plus la partition de boot /dev/sda1.
Avec les outils Windows.
Je pense qu'il faudrait réparer le démarrage de Windows7 sur le disque /dev/sda, partition /dev/sda2 (pas /sda1) refaire un fixboot et fixmbr, voir reconstruire la BCD.
Au redémarrage sur ce disque Normalement Windows7 devrait marcher.
Réparer le démarrage de Windows Xp sur le disque /dev/sdb, partition /dev/sdb2. Faire un fixboot et fixmbr.
Dans cette partition on y verrait les fichiers de boot; boot.ini, ntldr, NTDETECT.COM
et dans le secteur de boot le MBR Compatible Windows, qui lui écraserait Grub,c'est normal.
Vérifier que Windows Xp redémarre depuis le disque /dev/sdb.
Avec Boot-Repair installé depuis une session live Ubuntu, (pas avec BRD), réinstaller Grub dans Ubuntu en /dev/sdb3, en passant par les options avancées. Et bien faire attention de mettre Grub première partie dans le secteur de boot de /dev/sdb, non dans /dev/sdb3 (répondre oui à la question au sujet d'un disque amovible.).
Je pense qu'au redémarrage de la machine sur le disque /dev/sdb, on pourra redémarrer tous les Os depuis le menu Grub
Attendre l'avis éclairé d'autre contributeurs si tu le veux bien.

J'ai lu tes posts hier soir (mardi). Et le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est que c'est bien argumenté.
Je comprend mieux comment ça marche et pourquoi ça ne marchait plus.
J'ai pris quelques notes, et comme j'avais 2 heures ce matin, je me suis lancé:
-boot sur CD W7 --> Réparer le système de démarrage. FixBoot et FixMbr: commande inconnue, donc pas fait.
-boot sur CD XP --> touche R pour Réparer. Pas de chance, on me demande le mot de passe Administrateur... Bref,
-Boot sur session live Ubuntu 16.04. Installation de Synaptic, mais pas moyen de trouver Boot-Repair. Donc je zappe.
-boot sur CD Boot-Repair-Disk --> Disque 240G amovible ? --> OUI. Installation de Grub dans /dev/sdb. Boot-info d'alors http://paste.ubuntu.com/24365988
Je redémarre le PC, je peux de nouveau démarrer sur W7 et Ubuntu, mais plus sur XP qui n'est pas proposé.
Je fais ensuite une recherche sur la commande FixBoot:
---> la commande exacte et complète est Bootrec.exe/FixBoot et /FixMbr. Je n'ai pas essayé depuis.
Suite à cette recherche, je suis tombé sur EasyBCD dont tu avais parlé (je pensais à une faute de frappe).
Je l'ai installé. Il ne détectait que W7.
J'ai ajouté XP et Linux puis validé.
Au redémarrage, j'ai la possibilité de démarrer sur les 3 OS.
Lorsque je choisi Linux, je tombe sur Grub qui me propose Ubuntu ou W7.
Ça fait doublons, mais ça marche.
Lors de ma recherche, je suis tombé également sur le support Microsoft que je cite:

Utilisez cette option si l'une des conditions suivantes est remplie:

-Un système d'exploitation windows antérieur a été installé après l'installation de Vista ou 7. Dans ce scénario, l'ordinateur démarre en utilisant le chargeur Windows NT (NTLDR) au lieu du gestionnaire de démarrage Windows (Bootmgr.exe)."
Le problème pour démarrer XP, c'est que j'ai un écran bleu (BSOD) lors du boot. Ceci depuis le début de l'installation.
Pour installer XP ou pour booté dessus une fois installé, pas d'autre choix que de passer par le BIOS et de passer le "mode SATA" a "IDE".
A ce moment là, je peux booter sur XP, mais plus sur W7 qui affiche un BSOD à son tour. Dans ce cas, je passe de "IDE" à AHCI".
C'est un autre problème, certainement due à la vétusté de XP par rapport à mon matériel (SSD, ...), je n'ai pas eu le temps de faire des recherches à ce sujet.
Quoi qu'il en soit, je te remercie Babdu89] pour ton aide et d'avoir prit le temps d'analyser mon problème et de m'expliquer point par point tout ce qui clochait.
Je passe en "résolu" .
