Reboot, freeze (gel écran)... Qu'arrive-t-il ?

Bonjour,

Depuis quelques semaines, mon PC redémarre ou a un gel d'écran, de manière aléatoire.
Après quelques recherches et mises en œuvre de préconisations, rien n'y fait.
Voici donc la situation.

Problème de chaleur
A priori, c'est à écarter.
En effet, j'ai mis en place un cron toutes les 10s avec sensor.
Juste avant un redémarrage/gel, les températures semblent normales.

Problème carte graphique
J'ai :
[*]changé la carte graphique (j'avais gardé l'ancienne), température identique.[/*]
[*]Installé les pilotes propriétaires, les pilotes Ubuntu[/*]
Toujours des plantages

Autres
[*]Lors de redémarrage, j'ai parfois ce message : CPU fan failure[/*]
Je passe outre et les températures sont correctes (voir ci-dessus)
[*]J'ai eu droit à un kernel panic[/*]

J'ai mis en place kdump, il n'arrive à intercepter que très peu de crashes (il y a un fichier /var/crash/linux-image-3.13.0-123-generic-201708051040.crash, mais il est binaire; comment le rendre lisible ?).
Aucune trace dans les autres logs (kernel, sys, dmes) juste avant les crashes.

Bref, je ne sais plus trop faire.

Tu es sûr que c'est normal ça? C'est bizarre que seulement la carte graphique chauffe énormément. Tu as nettoyé les ventilateurs?

Pas vraiment sûr que ce soit normal, mais avec une carte graphique avec radiateur, ça tourne autour de 89-90°C, avec celle avec ventilateur, c'est 88-90°C.
Comme j'ai la même chose avec deux cartes différentes, je me dis que ce n'est pas là l'origine du problème.
Mais je peux tomber sur un cas où j'ai deux cartes qui chauffent trop...

Je te conseille de nettoyer les ventilateurs, de vérifier que rien n'empêche de le(s) faire tourner (genre un câble qui peut y toucher, et le câble du ventilo qui est bien branché), même le bios (CPU fan failure) te prévient qu'il y a un problème avec le ventilateur.
Quel est ton pc? Quelles sont les deux cartes graphiques? Y en a t'il une neuve?
Et aussi: fais tu tourner des gros jeux vidéos? (ce qui expliquerait la température, si c'est 90 degrés au repos c'est pas bien)

Ce n'est pas systématique, en général, ça arrive après avoir éteint le PC avec le bouton marche/arrêt.

Je précise que jusqu'à début juillet, je n'ai jamais eu ce problème.
Puis au retour de vacances, mise à jour d'Ubuntu, et les ennuis ont commencé (maintenant, je suis en 3.13.0-126).
Y a-t-il un rapport ?

Ah, sûrement oui.

Peux tu regarder si un ou plusieurs processus accaparent le processeur (avec la commande top tu peux voir les processus, q permet de quitter)? Peut être qu'un processus tourne en boucle et surcharge le processeur.
Tu as mis les pilotes propriétaires?

Rien d'anormal de ce côté.
La température des cœurs du processeur est correcte (voir premier post).

Je tente de réinstaller les pilotes propriétaires pour voir ce que ça donne.

Avec l'ancienne carte, je viens de réinitialiser le serveur X comme indiqué ici : Purger installation (je pense que les pilotes libres et propriétaires coexistaient), puis activer la gestion de l'énergie.
J'ai gagné 7-8°C sur la carte.

Et pas de redémarrage pour l'instant.

Je verrai demain, je remettrai ma nouvelle carte pour voir...

7-8 degrés de différence, c'est bien mais ce serait bien d'avoir moins de 70 degrés. Ok, je te laisse essayer avec l'autre carte.
Il me semble que la gestion d'énergie est activée par défaut, donc je pense que c'est surtout la première partie qui a été efficace.
Peux tu donner le retour de

dmesg

pour voir si on peut en retirer quelque chose?

Ca recommence mad

J'avais plusieurs trucs ouverts (1 chrome avec un jeu flash, 2 firefox, 1 gedit, 1 terminal, 1 vlc) et hop, redémarrage sans prévenir.
Je relance tout, histoire de vérifier, pareil au bout de moins de 5 minutes, reboot.
Je relance tout, sauf vlc. Puis je ferme tout et je lance vlc. Reboot au bout de 10-15 minutes.
La température reste à peu près au même niveau à chaque fois : 81-82°C.

Ce serait vlc ?
Pas sûr, car lors des reboot en pleine nuit qui se sont produits les jours précédents, rien n'était ouvert.
Ca commence à devenir compliqué à cerner.

où /dev/sdX est à remplacer par ton disque dur qui contient l'installation d'ubuntu. Tu as combien de disques?
Je vois rien pour la température de ta carte graphique dans le retour de dmesg.

Avec 8 Go de ram, tu devrais pas avoir besoin de zram. Tu as pas mal de programmes qui tournent visiblement pour 5.4 Go occupés.
Le disque dur a l'air d'aller bien, donc en particulier les plantages viennent pas d'un disque défectueux.
Tente de faire des tests de ram, ça éliminera ce cas (c'est dans le menu grub, il faut appuyer sur shift au démarrage du pc dans le cas où tu n'as pas de dualboot)

Depuis hier matin, j'ai mis la nouvelle carte graphique.
Les problèmes sont les mêmes : reboot ou gel écran.
J'ai aussi eu à un moment une charge processeur importante liée à compiz.
Je ne l'avais pas avant.
J'ai réinitialisé compiz : charge processeur OK et la température du GPU est retombé vers 70°C.
Je suis même à 67°C avec seulement Firefox ouvert (où je rédige ce message en ce moment).
J'ai tenté aussi de stresser ma carte graphique, histoire de vérifier si ça vient de là.
GpuTest ok
Phronix Test suite : plusieurs tests sont passés, un a fini par geler l'écran.


J'ai commencé à lister les situations qui posent problème.
A priori, c'est lié aux vidéos : le plantage se produit avec vlc qui lit une vidéo (la télé ou une vidéo sur disque dur), et avec un navigateur (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium) lorsque je vais sur le site de jeu flash.
J'ai même lancé le CD d'installation d'Ubuntu 16.04 et lancé firefox + site de jeu ==> plantage.

Je tente l'installation des pilotes propriétaires ATI.

Avec le pilote propriétaire, ça va mieux, mais c'est pas encore complètement résolu.

Bilan de la journée

  • vlc vidéo locale + firefox + chromium jeu flash +  moniteur système + téléchargement : OK pendant quelques heures

  • vlc vidéo locale + firefox + chromium jeu flash +  moniteur système + téléchargement + tests avec GPUtest : OK (au passage, j'ai pu faire des tests que je ne pouvais pas avec le pilote libre)

  • vlc vidéo locale + firefox + chromium jeu flash +  moniteur système + téléchargement + tests gfx_bench : OK les 2 premiers, puis reboot

  • firefox + téléchargement unigine + téléchargement phoronix + terminal : OK

  • firefox + téléchargement unigine + téléchargement phoronix + terminal + vlc vidéo locale : reboot au bout de 5 minutes après lancement vlc

  • 2 chromium jeu flash + 2 terminaux + téléchargement phoronix : OK

  • 2 chromium jeu flash + 2 terminaux + téléchargement phoronix + navigation firefox : reboot au bout de 3-4H (un morceau de flash sur un site ???)

  • firefox seul : ok

  • 2 chromium (sans le jeu flash chargé) + firefox : gel écran, seule le curseur se déplaçait, clavier ne répond pas. Ici, cela s'est produit après que ma multiprise de protection est fait quelques cliquetis

  • nautilus + firefox : ça tient pour l'instant

Si vous trouvez un point commun à tout ça, ça m'aiderait bien smile

Regarder une vidéo, c'est surtout solliciter la carte graphique. Donc forcément ça provoque des problèmes.

J'ai lancé des tests avec les logiciels précités (GPUtest, gfx_bench, phoronix).
Plantage dans certains cas, ça passe pour d'autres.

Le plus souvent, le PC reboot.
Quelquefois, il y a gel de l'écran je dois appuyer sur le bouton marche/arrêt du PC pour l'arrêter.

Hier soir, tout s'est bien passé.
3 chromium jeu flash, puis 2 chromium jeu flash pendant 2-3H + vlc télé 2-3H : aucun gel ni reboot.
Ce matin, je constate pas de reboot dans la nuit.
J'ai donc espoir que c'est rentré dans l'ordre et puis patatra !

Je commence alors à faire plusieurs choses.
4 chromium jeu flash, puis 3, puis 2 puis 1 : ça tient 2H

Je laisse refroidir 2 minutes.

Maintenant, j'ai seulement 1 firefox et 1 terminal ouverts. Ca a l'air de tenir...pour l'instant.
J'ai ouvert vlc avec vision télé : reboot en moins de 5 minutes.

C'est vraiment à n'y plus rien comprendre. Vu la plantage de ce matin, ça aurait aussi dû planter hier soir, non ?

Et ça se produisait aussi avant la mise à jour d'Ubuntu de fin juillet. Et avant cette mise à jour, je n'avais jamais ces problèmes de rebbot/gel.

Je vais quand même brancher sur une autre multiprise et refaire les essais chromium - vlc.

Pas un problème de « prise », un problème d’alimentation.

Ce genre de comportement erratique et radical, c’est souvent le signe d’un boitier d’alim défaillant.
PC qui freeze sans raison, extinction quand on tire sur la RAM ou le GPU, etc.
Le problème peut varier, mais on arrive parfois à reproduire, selon la tension électrique utilisée.

(il y a quelques mois, dès que je lançais ffmpeg ou que je foutais un gros fichier en tmpfs, bam !)

- le courant au-dessus duquel le disjoncteur de la pièce où est ton pc disjoncte ;
- la puissance cumulée tirée par tous les appareils électriques sous tension dans cette pièce ;
- la puissance limite de tes deux prises multiples.

          AJOUT :
- ainsi que, comme dit Sub0, les caractéristiques de l'alimentation de ton pc.

Je veux bien investiguer de ce côté, mais je n'ai eu aucun problème pendant des années.
L'équipement électrique n'a pas changé en juillet.

Je veux bien, mais ici, ce n'est que le PC qui reboot, ce n'est pas du côté du disjoncteur que ça se passe.
