[RESOLU] GRUB2 : Modifier etc/default/grub reste sans effet.
Bonjour!
Je cherche à configurer grub manuellement en modifiant etc/default/grub
J'ai bien suivi la doc, et après avoir édité etc/default/grub, j'effectue un
sudo update-grub
Mais au redémarrage rien ne change dans GRUB.
Voici mon etc/default/grub :

Dans cet exemple, Grub devrait avoir un timout de 5sc (au lieu des 10 initiales), émettre un bip, et ne pas proposer les options de récupérations. Rien de tout ça n'est le cas.
Une idée?

Bonjour,
C'est bien /etc/default/grub que tu as modifié, avec le / initial ?
Et c'est ensuite seulement que tu as lancé sudo update-grub ?
Si oui, tu peux vérifier que le fichier /boot/grub/grub.cfg a bien été modifié.

Oui c'est bien ça. J'ai édité /etc/default/grub
Par contre dans /boot/grub/grub.cfg, je ne trouve aucune ligne relative à /etc/default/grub .

vérifier si il a bien été modifié ne consiste pas à le lire mais bien à regarder si la date de dernière modification coïncide avec celle du "sudo update-grub"

Ok! Je me disais aussi! Par contre je sais pas faire ça en ligne de commande, les propriétés du fichier ne me donnant pas l'heure de modification...

En lisant tes retours de commandes/contenus de fichiers, il y a deux détails qui me paraissent anormaux :
1) Mon propre GRUB c'est 5sec aussi, mais je n'ai pas du tout les lignes suivantes
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
Et manifestement ça le gêne, puisque lors de l'update-grub il t'engueule
2) Un noyau est apparemment trouvé en double

Si tu veux modifier les fichiers de configuration de Grub en "mode graphique" (pas en commandes). Il faut lancer nautilus en mode admin avec gksudo.
gksu n'étant plus installé. l'installer.
sudo apt-get install gksu
Lancer nautilus en mode admin, pour pouvoir avoir le droit de modifier las fichiers système.
gksudo nautilus
Tu pourras naviguer dans ton système en mode admin, en graphique (à la Windows) et modifier ce que tu veux...
Mais avant de modifier un fichier système, pour pouvoir revenir en arrière en cas de souci, en faire une copie dans le répertoire courant (un copier/coller sur place).

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

Pardon mais j'ai toujours ça ridicule. Pour ne pas avoir à faire de modifs en lignes de commande, il faudrait lancer les logiciels graphiques en ligne de commande ?
Le paquet nautilus-admin existe, ça intègre les opérations d'administration au clic-droit dans le gestionnaire de fichiers. Naviguer sur son ordi en tant qu'admin est de toutes manière absurdement dangereux.
Le problème n'est de toutes façons absolument pas de réussir à faire les modifications, le problème est seulement de comprendre pourquoi elles n'ont pas l'effet attendu.

Le problème n'est pas là, je suis simplement la procédure indiquée dans la doc ubuntu, et visiblement il y a un truc qui cloche. De plus on m'a toujours dit : Nautilus en mode root, very dangerous !!!

Les lignes que tu cites semblent correctes, toujours d'après la doc, mais je vais tenter de les #commenter
Les deux noyaux identiques, c'est encore un autre problème et je bloque aussi sur la suppression des anciens noyaux

J'ai aussi testé les modifs que tu indiques.
Chez moi...
Elles sont prises en compte, que lorsque j'ai arrêté la machine (éteindre) et redémarré. Un simple redémarrage de suffisait pas...

Tu as raison cela fonctionne avec une seule ligne commentée. Cela dit, GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET dépend il me semble de GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT, donc autant commenter les deux.

Bonsoir, même problème. Sur un HP j'ai pu faire et en faisant pareil ça ne marche pas sur lenovo car il démarre toujours qu'au bout de 10 secondes :
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
GRUB_TIMEOUT=3
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
Et par défaut cette ligne était commenté :

Mais non ce pc démarre toujours à 10 secondes pas avant.
