Installation 8.10 sur Asus A9RP Grub loading error 17
Bonjour,
Je viens d'installer par deux fois Ubuntu 8.10 sur mon portable Asus A9RP. Ceci en double boot avec Windows XP. Les deux OS ont fonctionné normalement et ont été lancés une vingtaine de fois avant que, par deux fois, je tombe au démarrage sur : "Grub loading Stage 1.5 Error 17". Ne pouvant sortir de cet état, j'ai restauré à chaque fois mon secteur de boot pour retrouver uniquement Windows XP.
Selon ce que j'ai trouvé sur le Web, cette erreur est retournée si la partition demandée existe, mais le type du système de fichiers n'est pas reconnu par GRUB ? Pourtant, les OS, que ce soit XP ou Ubuntu, ont été lancés normalement à plusieurs reprises ?
J'ai restauré mon secteur de boot et réinstallé Ubuntu.
Mes partitions sont, successivement, les suivantes :
RECOVERY FAT 32 1 906,1 Mo Principale
Disque local [C:] NTFS 22 484,4 Mo Principale
Partition étendue de 51 921,0 Mo comprenant: Principale
Disque local [D:] NTFS 13 609,7 Mo Logique
Disque local [G:] NTFS 6 275,4 Mo Logique
Disque local [*] Linux Ext 3 30 670,9 Mo Logique
SWAPSPACE 2 [*] Linux Swap 1 364,9 Mo Logique
Après chaque installation, j'ai modifié le menu de Grub pour démarrer sous Windows. J'ai remarqué qu'après modification dans l'éditeur de menu, lors de la sauvegarde, la console m'a revoyé la ligne suivante:
I/0 error : No such file or directory
Cette ligne est répétée deux fois et suivie d'une multitude de SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS .
Malgré ce message, la modification est prise en compte et le poste démarre sous Windows XP.
Je ne comprends pas très bien ou se situe mon problème.

Merci pour cette proposition d'aide,
J'ai restauré mon secteur de boot et donc je n'accède plus qu'à Windows.
De ce fait, je ne pense pas pouvoir accéder au fichier menu. lst de Grub.
Je ne réinstallerai pas Ubuntu ce soir mais poursuivrai mes tentatives demain.

Sinon tu peux essayer super-grub-disk,
ça t'eviteras de réinstaller ubuntu.

Tu peux essayer de réinstaller grub: a l'aide d'un livecd.
http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/grub#restauration
Tu peux aussi essayer supergrub disc, ça permet de booter sur linux ou sur windows meme si le mbr est endommagé.
