grub-imageboot - tout va bien mais démarre pas sur l'iso depuis grub2
Voilà et bonjour.
J'ai suivis ce post ci : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1850541
J'obtiens tout de bon pour l'installation
la commande
sudo update-grub2
me donne bien une réponse, avec parmis d'autres (les autres qui me sont classique):
Found iso image: /boot/images/xubuntu-16.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso
(xubuntu-16.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso : est bien l'image que j'ai choisie de copier-coller dans mon /boot/images)
Je redemarre avec la touche "esc" pour accéder a l'interface "Grub2"
je sélectionne mon image "xubuntu" - je vous rassure, je suis bien sur un ordi tournant en amd64 -
là, du moins j'ai l'impression car des textes jamais vu depuis lors apparaissent, ça tourne ... mais au final: j'arrive sur ma session traditionnel de mon Lubuntu 16.4.3 ...

- 1) y a t-il un autre logiciel plus adapté (la date du post remonte à juin 2015)
- 2) qu'aurais je pas fini, compris, fait ?

Je l'ai essayer mais j'ai tout fait planter
Qu'utilisez-vous pour cette fonction-option ?
- 4) dans un futur proche, j'aimerais faire un dual boot avec un osx ... donc mettre rEFInd pour accéder aux différant os (mac et linux)
est ce problèmatique? A quel moment vais je devoir appuyer sur "esc" ou autres pour accéder à mon image "xubuntu" dans cette exemple ci?

Actuellement je lance mes iso en live depuis Grub comme ceci, en modifiant le fichier /etc/grub.d/40_custom

Alors;

Signifie que je stocke l'iso dans la racine de la partition système, de l'Os qui utilise Grub pour démarrer.
Pour que Grub sache où est stockée l'iso, il faut lui indiquer la partition système avec son UUID comme ceci;
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root 041cfc74-96e1-4c0f-ad6f-61ae768a1a3c
Pour la ligne linux(loop) ;
linux (loop)/casper/vmlinuz.efi boot=
On aura pour vmlinuz
Pour une iso en 32 bit; vmlinuz
Pour une iso en 64 bit; vmlinuz.efi
Alors pour la ligne initrd;
initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz
On peut avoir; initrd.img ou initrd.lz ou encore une autre extension, dont je ne me souviens plus.
Pour savoir laquelle reporter, il faut ouvrir l'iso avec un visionneur d'archive, et fouiner dans les dossiers pour trouver le fichier initrd (dans /casper)
Alors pour t'aider.
Tu copies ton iso; xubuntu-16.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso dans la racine de ta partition système.
Tu indiques le retour de ;
sudo blkid
En indiquant la partition système (/dev/sd**)
Tu ouvres l'iso avec un visionneur d'archive pour indiquer l’extension du fichier initrd. (.img .lz ou autre)
Je te proposerais la modification à faire dans le fichier; /etc/grub.d/40_custom
La modif sera suivie d'une maj de Grub, pour porter la nouvelle entrée permettant de lancer l'iso en live depuis le menu Grub.
En lisant les menuentry ci-dessus, tu pourras voir que je stocke aussi les iso sur clé usb, il faut dans ce cas indiquer l'UUID de la partition de la clé où est stockée l'iso à lancer en live.
Çà veut dire qu'on peut mettre les iso dans la racine (çà facilite la modif, je les mets aussi dans des dossiers.) d'autre partitions du disque, quel qu’en soit le format. J'ai des iso stockées dans de partition NTFS sur une autre machine.

Quel est ton matériel?
Le but étant de savoir s'il boote en EFI pour être compatible refind.
Ajout pour BABDU89
Avec refind, je mets le contenu de l'iso windows dans une partition FAT32 et le contenu de l'iso ubuntu dans une partition EXT2. Après il se débrouille pour proposer.
Le problème est que je ne sais pas le faire en de commande, il faut que je passe par l'application "gestionnaire d'archive" ou "monteur d'image disque"
ce qui permet aussi au bios EFI de booter cette installation si nécessaire.

Comme je n'avais plus de place dans ma partition système.
J'ai téléchargé l'iso Xubuntu16.04.3 dans la racine de la partition Windows7 de la machine.
J'ai vérifier le MD5;

Lorsque tu utilises refind, il suffit que tu mettes les fichiers contenus dans l'iso dans une partition indépendante
Fat32 pour windows , taille 5 Go
Ext2 pour ubuntu , taille 2 Go
Il te proposera alors de les booter.

Créer un nombre de partition ext2. Nombre équivalent d'os à mettre au démarage (juste une pour moi) et y loger le contenu d'une iso linux ...
Ces os linux ajouter sont-elles en mode persistant ou non-persistant ?

En MAC, tu utilises EFI, Babdu89 est en LEGACY. Il ne peut pas faire autrement.
Tu ne seras pas en mode persistant qui est une autre démarche.
Attention loger le contenu ne consiste pas à copier l'ISO mais à ouvrir l'iso et copier les fichiers qui sont à l'intérieur. Ce n'est pas une démarche simple. Du moins je ne connais pas la commande le faisant, Je suis obligé de passer par le logiciel ouvrant un fichier ISO.

Non, je lance aussi des iso 64 Bits en session live en mode UEFI, depuis le Grub d'une installation faite en UEFI, lancée elle même en mode UEFI, depuis que je dispose d'une machine UEFI/Bios_Legacy.
Je vais faire un boot info dès que je le peux...

Je n'avais pas noté que tu avais une machine EFI. Avec un MAC qui a déjà REFIND, cela me semble plus simple de décomprimer l'ISO dans une partition (EXT2 voir EXT4) , Cela permet d'invalider la mise en place du SHIM qui va vouloir s'installer prioritairement
Puisque vous avez décidé de ne plus utiliser le grub, pensez que vos prochaines installations de ubuntu vont détruire le boot refind si vous ne faites rien. Pour éviter cette situation, la solution est de détruire ou renommer shimx64.efi directement dans le support d'installation. Ce fichier est stocké à l'adresse suivante: /pool/main/s/shim-signed/shim-signed_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_amd64.deb

Le boot info fait depuis une session live ubuntu17.10 en mode UEFI, lancée depuis le Grub de la Xubuntu-efi installé dans la clé Emtec de tests dans la partition /dev/sdb3. Xubuntu-efi lancé en mode UEFI.

Sachant que le multisystem s'installe sur périphérique USB, la réponse est non, on ne peut pas l'installer sur un disque dur interne.
Mais on peut très bien faire ce que tu demandes sur un disque dur USB.
J'en ai un qui fonctionne comme çà.
_Obligatoirement. La première partition de 108 Go en FAT 32, qui reçoit un MultiSystem, avec beaucoup d'iso chargées dedans, toutes celles que télécharge et teste en live.
_Des installations d'Os Linux derrière cette partition.
_Une partition format NTFS de stockage de données à échanger entre Windows/Linux.
On peut modifier le fichier de configuration du MultiSystem (grub.cfg), pour lancer les Os installés sur le disque USB depuis le menu Grub du MultiSystem.
Mon disque dur USB "MultiSystem" fonctionne sur toutes mes machines. Il a une table de partition de type MSDos. La MultiSystem fonctionne (démarre) en mode UEFI et Bios_Legacy.
Mais le disque ne fonctionne qu'en mode Bios_Legacy, pour les systèmes Linux installés dedans, derrière le MultiSystem.

J'essaye de mettre une iso de slitaz à la racine de mon Lubuntu ...
(slitaz-4.0.iso)
je bloque
au niveau de linux (loop): j'ai trouvé un fichier : /vmlinuz-2.6.37-slitaz (??)
au niveau du initrd: pas de casper ou autres fichier "initrd"
J'ai vu dans la doc que Slitaz utilise syslinux et extlinux
Grub ou refind, permettent-il de démarer sur ces trucs là ?
en faite j'ai créer d'abord un live-cd de slitaz et depuis celui-ci fait un Live-usb
mais qui n'est pas reconnu ... alors, me suis dit qu'ici dans ces post, il y avait peut-être une solution
(mon iso, au passage est une iso 9660 - de mémoir, je pense pas avoir vu cela pour d'autres - ou je débloque ?)

Depuis le menu grub d'un Ubuntu 12,04 (grub v 1,98/99), je lance des sessions live d'une iso Slitaz, stockée dans la partition racine ( / ) du Ubuntu 12,04, comme ceci;

Il y a des années, je lançais Slitaz3 depuis grub et j'avais noté ceci :
Pour lancer des iso à partir de grub, les réglages se font dans dans
/etc/grub.d/40_custom, où on rajoute des lignes, sur ce modèle issu de la doc

iso9660 est un système de fichiers.
Conçu à l'origine pour cédéroms, on le retrouve aussi sur des DVD et sur les clefs usb où le fichier iso a été gravé.

Autre petit détaille:
Après ces démarche mon ordinateur au démarage affiche du texte qui défile ... après le choix réaliser dans Grub2.
De plus, toujours au démarage, il est plus lent qu'avant ...
Y a t-il moyen d'éviter ce mode texte (que je pense qu'on appelle "verbose"). Et de retrouvé sa vite d'avant ?
Et/Ou d'éviter de passer d'office par Grub2 -- Que le choix de mon os de "base" soit et reste directement chargé / devoir appuyer sur "esc" au démarage pour avoir accés au choix des iso que quand j'ai l'intention d'en choisir une ....?

Bon: ok, moi j'ai essayer avec SliTaz-4.0 :
J'ai pas encore essayer pour SliTaz ... Mais, ne manque t-il pas un "1" à "initrd (loop)/boot/rootfs.gz", ce qui donnerait:

Car dans l'iso que j'ai, il y a 4 fichiers: rootfsX.gz
Y en a t-il qu'une seul dans ta version SliTaz 5 ?

Un autre détail: les iso misent à la racine pour démarer avec Grub2, donc, doivent-elles être en "isolinux" -- Car, ici, sur la page de téléchargement de SliTaz, il existe une version "isolinux" ... (isohybrid)

ps: je rajoute un petit mot bien après avoir écris ce post ci : pour SliTaz: je savais pas mais nous sommes à SliTaz-5, à cette date, pour la dernière ... et je viens d'apprendre aussi que SliTaz à la base, se lance par le BIOS.
Macintosh étant en EFI, il faut faire quelques modification : " ...
