Installation nouveau noyau

Bonjour,

suite à un bug de démarrage, j'ai installé un noyau 4.20, a priori plus récente que celui présent sur ma distribution. Tout semble fonctionner correctement, toutefois je dois sélectionner manuellement ce noyau à chaque démarrage.
Quelqu'un saurait-il ou farfouiller pour paramétrer le noyau par défaut au démarrage ?

Installer un kernel à la main est le meilleur moyen de péter son install, sans compter qu'il  ne se met pas à jour donc que tu ajoutes des vulnérabilités à terme.
Quels sontta version/variante *buntu, ton matériel et les problèmes que tu as rencontré avec le noyau légitime ?

Ca dépend quand même, si le noyau compilé a été mis sous forme de paquet deb, c'est déjà plus propre.
La vraie question est plutôt: pourquoi veux tu cette version?

Sinon c'est dans les paramètres de grub que ça se règle

Je vois un problème de touchpad dans > Mise à jour 16.04->18.4: pavé tactile.

Tester une 19.04 ?

Bonjour,

non le problème n'a rien à voir avec le touchpad. Avec le noyau "officiel", j'avais des problèmes de boot: le système ne démarrait correctement qu'une fois sur 2, ou une fois sur 4....Du coup, avec le noyau 4.20 je n'avais plus ce problème...

Bonjour,

l'ordi est un asus équipé d'un ore-i5, avec une carte graphique intégrée datant de deux ou trois ans. (ok, c'est pas super exact...). J'avais déjà rencontré ce problème à la première installation et toutes les investigations que j'avais effectué n'avaient pu permettre de résoudre ce problème. La seule solution que j'avais trouvé était d'upgrader manuellement le noyau.
J'avais d'ailleurs à l'époque testé tout un tas de distributions dérivées d'ubuntu à partir de clé bottables et je rencontrais le même problème.
J'ai effectué ces jours ci une mise à jour vers la dernière version LTS et le problème est réapparu avec le nouveau noyau "par défaut". J'ai donc utilisé la même méthode, qui a fort bien fonctionné jusque à présent....je croise donc les doigts pour que cela continue ainsi.

Le secure boot est désactivé? Il y a un dual boot dessus? C'est une install EFI ou legacy?

Nota: Pour trouver des infos, on peut chercher avec "transformer book"
