[Résolu] probleme avec apt-get

Bonjour tout le monde...
J'ai un problème assez gênant dont j'aimerai bien me débarasser. Quand j'essaye de mettre à jour mon système via apt-get par le terminal, j'obtiens un message d'erreur comme quoi j'ai dépassé le nombre de descriptions que ma version d'APT peut supporter. Evidemment la même chose se passe avec synaptic mais il ne me dit pas comment corriger l'erreur. Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait une idée???

E: Vous avez dépassé le nombre de descriptions que cette version d'APT est capable de traiter.
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_hardy_universe_i18n_Translation-fr
E: Les listes de paquets ou le fichier « status » ne peuvent être analysés ou lus.

Bonjour,
je ne connais pas ton pb, mais tu peux essayer 

sudo dpkg --configure -a

qui permet de remettre de l'ordre bien souvent.

La connaissance n'est pas une denrée rare, il faut la partager avec les autres.

Salut sinbad...

J'ai essayé ta commande "sudo dpkg --configure -a" mais ca n'a pas eu d'effet. Vu qu'il me dit qu'il a dépassé le nombre de descriptions que ma version d'apt peut supporter, est-ce que ca ne veut pas dire que la liste des paquets est trop importante et qu'il faudrait que je la réduise?

Bon, y t il quelqu'un par ici qui aurait déjà rencontré ce problème? Si je peux plus rien installer ou supprimer sur mon PC, ca rique de devenir un vrai problème...

Non, à l'extrême rigueur, tu peux toujours réinstaller, surtout si tu as un /home séparé de la racine.

j'aimerai quand même eviter une mesure aussi draconienne... surtout que je n'ai strictement touché a rien depuis ma derniere mise a jour et que je ne vois pas comment ma liste de paquet a pu devenir si importante sans que je rajoute des sources. Mystère...

Salut,

Il faudrait que tu indiques le message exact.

De plus, ton sources.list comporte des dépôt obsolètes et d'autres redondants. A noter qu'il est déconseillé d'utiliser le dépôt backports lorsque l'on ne sait pas ce à quoi il sert.

le message d'erreur que j'ai posté plus haut est le message exact lorsque j'essaye de mettre à jour. Peux-tu m'indiquer comment me débarrasser de ces dépôts obsolètes et redondants sans passer par synaptic?

Re,

A priori tu as beaucoup trop de sources.

Pour modifier sources.list il faut être en root

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Ensuite quelle est ta distribution, 8.04 ou 8.10. Car la ton sources.list contient des depôts pour les 2.

Tu peux déjà supprimer ceux qui ne sont pas relatifs à ta distribution.

une fois cela fait, 

sudo apt-get update

J'ai eu le même problème que jean_tchang, et l'ai résolu en décochant une des sources dans l'interface graphique "Sources et logiciels" ne sachant pas trop quels sources supprimer dans le fichier sources.list

Est-ce que ce problème vient du fait que je suis passé par l'upgrade pour installer la 8.10 ou c'est indépendant à cela ?

Voilà mon fichier sources.list, j'aimerai juste avoir quelques indications sur les sources que je pourrais supprimer
