Plus d'usb [à priori, pb matériel]
Bonjour à tous et bonne année :-)
Pour moi l'année commence mal, mon ibmR50p sous hardy n'a plus d'usb :-( .
Je m'explique:
- hier j'ai fait pas mal de copie de disque dur usb à disque dur usb, sans problème, j'ai éteint ma machine sans erreur,
- aujourd'hui j'allume, il y a avait toujours un câble branché en usb, mais pas le disque dur au bout,
- démarrage sans problème mais environ 15 s après le démarage paf la machine s'éteint toute seule :-(
- redémarrage sans problème sauf que l'usb n'est pas reconnu (ni souris ni clé usb).
-lorsque je tape lshw, il voit bien mes ports usb:

- Lorsque je branche débranche une clé usb, des lignes apparaissent dans /var/log/messages:

Voilà je n'es sais pas plus, il fut un temps où il y avait une commande comme services usb restart, pour redémarer l'usb, maintenant je sais plus faire aussi si quelqu'un a une idée.....

Bonjour,
je te remercie pour ce lien, je vais essayer de voir si en déchargeant rechargeant un module, j'arrive à redémarrer l'usb.
Pour l'instant décharger/recharger le module ehci_hcd ne donne rien.

J'ai testé avec un live CD et les ports usb ne fonctionnent pas :-( .
A priori il s'agit donc d'un pb matériel.
Ce que je ne comprends pas c'est comment il est possible que la souris soit quand même allimenté et que lshw renvoie quand même le type de port usb alors que les ports sont abîmés :-/

[EDIT:] au bout d'une semaine, le pc fonctionne toujours normalement mais sans port usb. Une carte PCMIA a résolu le pb.

c'est un portable que tu as ? Oui sûrement (notebook).
J'ai lu quelque part que les ports USB des portables ne fournissent que 100mA au lieu des 500mA max que délivre un PC "de bureau".
Un disque dur consomme plus de puissance qu'une souris ou une clé USB, et demande donc beaucoup de courant sur le port USB à cause des moteurs et des têtes de lectures écritures.
Normalement, ces disques durs externes possèdent leur propre alimentation.
Je donne une piste, ça peut être autre chose...

Oui c'est un portable, mais pas un "notebook". Un vieux portable qui a au moins 7 ans d'utilisation intensive :-) .
C'est la première fois que j'ai un problème avec des ports usb qui ont toujours été bien reconnu sous Linux (depuis la mandrake 7).
J'ai lu quelque part que les ports USB des portables ne fournissent que 100mA au lieu des 500mA max que délivre un PC "de bureau".

Les deux disques durs que j'avais utilisé la veille, avait leur propre alim.
J'ai transféré beaucoup de données de l'un à l'autre. Ce qui a peut-être achevé des ports usb un peu vieillissant.
En tout cas, sauf erreur de ma part, quand ça ne marche pas depuis un Live-CD, alors que cela marchait parfaitement avant, c'est à coups sûr un problème matériel.
Reste plus qu'à espérer que la carte mère va pas me lâcher dans une semaine :-( .....
