Problème ACTIVATION Wifi

Bonjour,

J'ai récemment installé Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid sur mon portable et suis plutôt content. Mais il me reste toutefois un problème à régler quant à la connection Wifi.
Je parviens à me connecter par cable, aucun soucis. Mais la POSSIBILITE de me connecter au wifi est indisponible. Après quelques réflections j'ai trouvé ce qui n'allait pas, mais ne sais pas comment le résoudre.
Sur WINDOWS, afin de bénéficier du Wifi, je dois l'activer en appuyant à chaque démarrage par la combinaison Fn+F1.(L'icone wireless de cette dernière apparait dessus). Après avoir effectué cette combinaison, une lumière rouge s'allume sur mon pc.
Lors du démarrage UBUNTU, cette lumière rouge n'apparait pas. Et la combinaison Fn+F1 n'existe pas.
Je dois donc activer mon Wifi (pour voir la lumière rouge) pour pouvoir bénéficier de la connection par Wifi.

Quelqu'un pourrait-il m'aider à trouver un chemin pour l'activer ?
