Bonjour, je viens d'installer Samba sur ma petite ubuntu.

Pour partager mes répertoires, je fais une copie de sauvegarde du /etc/samba/smb.conf, et je commence à modifier le fichier. Pour revenir en arrière, je reprend mon fichier sauvegardé et j'écrase le fichier modifié.

Depuis, samba ne se relance plus :

* Starting Samba daemons..                                              [fail]

Que dois-je faire ? Où traquer le bug ?

(Oui, je suis un gros newbie.)

fais nous voir ton /etc/samba/smb.conf pour qu'on en sache un peu plus.
Parce que là, à part que ca ne fonctionne pas, on ne sait pas grand chose!

Pardon de ne pas l'avoir indiqué avant (pas encore les bonnes habitudes du forum).

Ce que je ne comprend pas surtout, c'est pourquoi il "faile" alors que j'ai remis le smb.conf de base.

Si quelqu'un a une idée sur le sujet, même bizarre, je suis preneur, je ne sais vraiment pas par quoi commencer.

il n'y a pas de messages dans /var/log/samba/log.smbd ou /var/log/samba/log.nmbd ?

que donne la sortie du programme testparm ?

A noter, j'ai rebooté ma distrib ce matin, et j'ai trouvé "nmbd" actif dans la liste de mes processus (mais rien qui ressemble à samba ou smb). Si ça peut donner plus d'indications.

Il semble y avoir un pb avec un utilisateur "pcguest", qui existe dans la base de compte samba mais pas au niveau UNIX, à moins que tu ne saches pourquoi tu veux passer par cet utilisateur pour les accès anonymes des client smb, ajoute :

guest account = nobody

(c'est la valeur par défaut, normalement inutile, mais sait-on jamais)

dans [global]

et fait un :

sudo smbpasswd -x pcguest

en fait ce qui a pu changer dans ta conf c'est la création de cet utilisateur avec smbpasswd alors qu'il n'existe pas dans la base de comptes UNIX. Comme la base de compte Samba n'est pas dans smb.conf (mais dans passwd.tbd ou smbpasswd situés dans /etc/samba), remettre le smb.conf d'origine ne suffit pas. La commande smbpasswd -x ... supprime un utilisateur de la base Samba.
