9.10 Karmic Linksys WPC54G ver. 3.1

Bonjour à tous,

je tente désespérément de faire fonctionner une carte wifi sur Xubuntu jaunty qui tourne sur un "presque" ordinausore.
La carte est donc une Linksys WPC54G ver. 3.1
La carte insérée dans le port, une petite lumière verte s'allume sur la carte cependant, elle ne ressort pas avec un iwconfig.
Et pas non plus avec un lspci.
J'ai tenté pas mal de truc mais rien n'a marché jusqu'à présent.
Si quelqu'un peut m'éclairer, je serais content!

Je n'ai pas accès à l'ordinateur en question en ce moment (ce n'est pas le mien).
De tête ce que je peux dire:
pour cat /etc/lsb-release --> c'est Xubuntu Jaunty 9.04
pour lsusb --> inutile, la carte n'est pas connectée en usb
pour lspci --> de tête pas possible mais je n'ai jamais trouvé la carte dans le lspci hmm
Donc pas de réponse non plus pour lspci -nn | grep -i net
Pour sudo lshw -C network   lsmod sudo iwlist scan cat  /etc/network/interfaces nm-tool et ifconfig je testerais quand j'aurais accès à la machine (vendredi)
iwconfig me retourne no wireless extension.
Pour uname -r -m c'est 2.6.28-15-generic i686

Je rebondis sur ton sujet car j'ai le même souci sous Jaunty...
Ma carte PCMCIA est aussi une linksys WPC54G mais version 3.
J'ai pu déterminer que le controler est un BCM4318.
Dans la doc Ubuntu WiFi il est dit que tout est ok sous Jaunty de base pour le BCM4318...mais non !
Alors il te faut d'abord installer le paquet b43-fwcutter (en ethernet pour commencer...)
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
un message te demande si tu veux executer le microcode et tu réponds oui.
Pour moi, à ce moment là, la carte s'est activée et j'ai pu débrancher ethernet puis surfer sans problème en WiFi.
Le problème arrive lorsque j'éteins le portable.
Lorsque je le rallume, la carte ne se rallume pas et pas de réseau détecté ni de wlan0...
Il m'a fallu sortir la carte PCMCIA puis la remettre pour qu'elle s'active enfin...
Pas pratique si je dois faire cela à chaque démarrage de la machine !!!
Une idée ???

Je tente ça demain et je te dis ce que ça donne chez moi!
Merci de ce tuyaux en tout cas!
Je vais réfléchir sur le problème que tu soulèves mais à mon avis, en éditant les fichiers de conf pour que cela se relance à chaque démarrage, on devrait pouvoir y arriver.

En farfouillant j'ai tapé
sudo modprobe b43
sudo modprobe b43legacy
Je ne sais lequel des deux permet le fonctionnement de la carte au démarrage, en tout cas, c'est bon, la carte est ON à chaque démarrage...:)
Par contre mon souci est que la connexion ne tiens pas du tout !!!
Pourtant j'ai mon PC de bureau à 1 mètre du portable, lui aussi en WiFi, et aucun souci...:mad:
Donc là sur mon portable, j'ai la petite icone de tentative de connexion, une diode verte est allumée, la deuxième ne s'allume pas et il me demande toutes les 3 minutes l'authentification...
Peut être me suis je trompé mais j'ai pourtant bien vérifié ma clé...
De plus, je suis effectivement bien connecté, j'ai même un ping sur www.google.fr alors...
mais juste 3 minutes après...pouf !!!

Alors qu'avant il y avait :

Désolé de répondre à chaque fois plutôt que d'éditer mais cela sera plus lisible pour ceux qui suivent...:rolleyes:
Donc description détaillée du problème :
- Jaunty
- carte WiFi PCMCIA Linksys WPC54G version 3, controler BMC4318.
- sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
- activation du micro code
-> la connexion WiFi s'établit correctement.
Firefox fonctionne, le ping aussi, bref le réseau est OK...
Je laisse ainsi 10 minutes sans rien faire, j'ai toujours le réseau.
Je lance une mise à jour des paquets...
Au bout d'à peine 1 minutes, perte du réseau !
Acces point : Not-Associated après un iwconfig
La carte WiFi a toujours les deux diodes allumées.
Dans la barre des tâches, la petite icône de connexion a une diode verte allumée, l'animation tourne pour la tentative de connexion, la deuxième diode verte ne s'allume pas. Au bout de 1 minute, demande d'authentification : la clé est ok, je valide : toujours l'animation de tentative de connexion qui tourne...sans rien trouver...nouvelle demande d'authentification...etc et ceci 3 ou 4 fois de suite.
Puis l'icône est remplacée par celle du réseau déconnecté. Je me remets dessus, je vois mon point d'accès WiFi qui semble disponible, je lance la connexion...et rebelote !!! demande d'authentification etc...
Je ne retrouve jamais la connexion.
Après reboot, cela remarche de nouveau...tant que je ne fais pas de mise à jour des paquets !!!
Une idée du dysfonctionnement ???

Je confirme que dès que je lance un update, ou bien un firefox, la connexion tombe...
Donc en fait dès que je fais un accès réseau soit :
- un update par le gestionnaire de mise à jour
- un update en ligne de commande
- un accès par http (firefox)
- un accès par ftp (wget ftp://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/releases/9.04/release/ubuntu-9.04-dvd-i386.iso récupère 2Mo de données puis plantage de la connexion)
Dans l'icône réseau de la barre des tâche, je décoche "activer le réseau", puis je recoche "activer le réseau" et là miracle, la connexion revient toute seule...
Mais de nouveau plantage de la connexion au bout de quelques secondes d'accès au réseau...

t'as essayé wicd en lieu et place de networkmanager? Je sais que networkmanager est parfois source de plantages...

J'ai installé wicd et j'ai le même souci : tant que je ne sollicite pas le réseau, pas de souci.
Dès que fais une update ou un téléchargement, la connexion est perdue.
Seul "avantage" de wicd, il se reconnecte tout seul correctement sans boucler sur la demande d'authentification.
Mais comme il reperd aussitôt la connexion, cela ne sert pas à grand chose...
Le ping est très bon sur google par exemple (30ms) et ne fait pas perdre la connexion...
Le ping me sert de test pour savoir si la connexion est OK ou non...
Lorsque j'accède à une ressource distante (update), je vois que le ping monte à 415 ms plusieurs fois de suite puis à ce moment là perte de connexion...
Puis reconnexion auto et retour du ping...etc...Quelqu'un aurait-il une autre piste ? cela me fatigue vraiment...

@fabrice91: il doit y avoir une différence notable entre la version 3 et la 3.1 parce que chez moi tes manipulations ne permettent absolument rien!


C'est bizarre j'ai l'impression que la carte ne ressort même pas dans les commandes alors qu'elle est bien branchée et qu'il y a même la diode verte "power" allumée.

Il faudrait sûrement chercher de ce côté là, en effet. Mais en tout cas, on peut voir qu'il se passe quelque chose quand tu débranches et rebranches ta carte. Mais j'avoue ma limite avec le PCMCIA… hmm
