1440x900 selon ubuntu; 1152x864 selon mon écran

bonjour,
je souhaite faire fonctionner mon écran 16:9 à sa résolution normale = 1440x900

J'ai installé les drivers nvidia sans trop de problèmes pour ma carte.

et après de multiples manipulations je m'en retrouve au même point :

Ubuntu me dit qu'il tourne  en 1440x900
et mon écran visiblement n'est pas de cet avis et me dit 1152x864
(et à sa tronche je crois que c'est lui qui a raison).

salut !!! (j'avais le même problème y a pas 3jours tongue)

Alors moi ce que j'ai fait, c'est tout simplement d'enlever les résoultion intermédiaires entre le 800x600 et 1440x900... et dans les paramètres d'affichage de kde il m'a suffit de sélectionner 1440x900 !

note : je suis apssé par la commande sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg (qui permet de changer de manière graphique son xorg.conf mais je pense que tu es au courant) et il me laissait le choix sur la fin que de 1440x900 à 100Hz (alors que mon écran ne fonctionne qu'en 60Hz normalement) mais une fois arrivé dans les paramètres d'affichage il me proposait bien du 1440x900 à 60Hz

note 2 : tu es sûr que ta carte graphique supporte le 1440x900 ? hmm

oui, ma Geforce4 supporte très bien le 1440x900 sous XP.

Le fait est que toi aussi il t'annonce du 100hz alors que tu n'est qu'a 60 !

Je n'y comprends rien, et ce n'est pas faute d'avoir cherché.

Peut-être que je cherche mal...

...en attendant j'ai mal aux yeux.

Fait donc voir ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Voualoute ! alors bon t'as remarqué que j'ai fait le ménage entre 1024*768 et 1440*900 et pas 800*600 et 1440*900...

Sinon si j'ai bidouillé ce truc, c'est parce que d'office sous kde il me permettait comme résol. max du 1440*1050 mais sa donnai un aspect "écrasé" du fait dc que mon écran est un 16:10 alors seulement j'ai bidouillé pour passer au 1440*900...

Tiens idée toute bête, tu es sûr que ta carte graphique est bie ninstallée niveau drivers et ton écran bien reconnu ?

T'as placé cette ligne toi-même ? il me semble que sa te limite d'office à uen certaine résolution et profondeur de couleur...

essaie de faire uen détection automatique de ton écran via sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
