si je fais ça sudo   -i
cd   /etc/X11

j'ai :

nathalie@nathalie-laptop:~$ sudo   -i

suite à ça je mets : cp  Xorg.conf  Xorg.conf.sov
cp  Xorg.conf.failsafe   Xorg.conf
exit

et ça me donne :

root@nathalie-laptop:~# cd   /etc/X11
root@nathalie-laptop:/etc/X11# cp  Xorg.conf  Xorg.conf.sov

Bon tu fais :
sudo -i
cd /etc/X11
ls  -l
et tu donnes le résultat.

Ok Je pense qu'il y a un pb de majuscule :
donc là ça devient :
cp  xorg.conf  xorg.conf.sov
cp  xorg.conf.failsafe   xorg.conf
exit

Et désolé mais là ça devrait pontionner.

cat  /etc/X11/xorg.conf
et
cat  /etc/X11/xorg.conf.sov

Et si tu tentes un :
sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf.dist-upgrade-201005131010  /etc/X11/xorg.conf

et que tu rebootes ?

Sinon après (si ça ne fonctionne toujours pas sad ) tu pourras faire un :
sudo  rm  /etc/X11/xorg.conf

et retenter un reboot.

Après je ne vois pas trop quoi faire d'autre.
