affichage pas trop mal mais ....

Bonjour,
je viens d'installer ubuntu 10.04 (deuxième tentative) en dual boot avec Win XP.
J'avais abandonné une première fois suite à de trop nombreux problèmes, mais je persiste ! Le PC est un ACER Aspire T-135 S-970 avec une carte mère Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M.
Je n'ai pas réussi à faire fonctionner le chipset graphique de la carte mère. Comme j'avais une carte graphique dans une vielle tour je l'ai installée.
Pour info : Geforce4 MX 440 AGP8X reva2.
Actuellement l'affichage est plus ou moins correct. Un peu lent et saccadé.
Lorsque j'installe le logiciel propriétaire, je ne peux pas choisir la définition (640X480) alors que actuellement je suis en 1024X480.

Quelqu'un peut-il m'aider pour améliorer la qualité de mon affichage (surtout les saccades qui sont pénibles)?

Avec une geforce 4 (ou un autre ancien PC), j'installerais à ta place Ubuntu 8.04 et non la 10.04
Les nouvelles versions de Xorg ne sont pas forcément bien compatibles avec les pilotes "legacy" de nvidia
