Ubuntu 11.04 : l'ordinateur gèle de manière intempestive

Bonjour à tous !

Fervent utilisateur d'Ubuntu, j'ai installé récemment la dernière version, Natty Narwhal 11.04. Jusque là, tout va bien, j'ai pu le configurer comme les systèmes précédents, carte graphique ok, son ok, wifi ok...
Pourtant, régulièrement et de manière intempestive, le système gèle : rien ne laisse supposer que l'ordinateur va bloquer : aucun ralentissement en particulier (au contraire, une fluidité presque parfaite). Cela se produit tellement souvent que je n'arrive même plus à ouvrir un fichier texte .docx (non corrompu je précise).
J'arrive à chaque fois à débloquer l'ordi avec la combinaison Alt + Impécr Syst + K, mais vous comprendrez que c'est un peu gênant de le faire à chaque fois. Récemment, ça m'est souvent arrivé lorsque que je faisais des manip sur Compiz : j'ai donc désactivé le pilote de ma carte graphique (ATI Radeon) : pas dé résultat concluant, j'ai toujours le même souci.
Je tourne sous un Acer Aspire 7540 assez récent, en Dual Boot avec Windows 7 (sur lequel je n'ai aucun problèmes particulier).
A noter que mon ordinateur est globalement fluide : pas de ralentissement en particulier sauf exception (copie de fichiers lourds par exemple).

As-tu 2 cartes graphiques ? Une intel en plus de ta radeon ?

As-tu essayé cela :

sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools

Salut !

Pour te répondre, après vérif de mes périphériques sous windows, et d'après ce que je connais de mon ordi, je n'ai qu'une seule carte graphique : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200.
Concernant la commande dans le terminal, j'essaie et je te redis.

Salut,

Tu utilises quoi comme driver avec ta carte graphique ? Si tu ne sais pas, tape dans un terminal la commande : 

grep /drivers/ /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Est-ce que tu possèdes un xorg.conf ? (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) Si oui, est-ce que tu peux nous le poster ?

Non, je ne possède pas de xorg.conf. Du moins, pas à ma connaissance dans ce dossier-ci.

Oui j'avais les pilotes ATI et ATI Catalyst Control Center, avec les mêmes problèmes.

J'ai abandonné ces pilotes-ci lorsque je me suis rendu compte que mon affichage était meilleur sans : meilleure fluidité des graphisme, moins saccadés... Comme je l'ai dit plus haut, j'avais essayé avec et sans pour voir si les coupures se faisaient moins : aucune différence.

L'affichage était encore plus mauvais avec les drivers propriétaires parce qu'il y avait encore plus de conflit peut-être.. Je n'en sais rien honnêtement, mais c'est une idée, parce que personnellement j'utilise les pilotes propriétaires avec ma carte ATI HD 4500 et les performances sont carrément mieux qu'avec les pilotes libres. Bref !

Il va falloir générer un xorg.conf, pour que ta machine sache exactement quel driver utiliser pour ta carte graphique afin d'éviter les conflits qui pourraient générer des freezes !

Dans un terminal tapes : 

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

Cette commande va arrêter ton serveur graphique, pas de panique si tu passes avec un écran noir et un curseur blanc qui clignote. Passe sur une console avec les touches Ctrl + Alt + Fn (avec n compris entre 1 et 6), logues toi puis tapes : 

sudo Xorg -configure

Puis 

sudo cp ~/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Enfin, reboot. Si ton interface graphique ne se lance même pas, c'est que ça n'a pas marché.. Donc tu devras taper 

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Puis redémarrer ^^

Dans tous les cas, pourras tu nous dire ce que contient le fichier ~/xorg.conf.new ?

Toujours le même problème que précédemment, donc je tente de réinstaller les pilotes ATI par dessus. Au redémarrage, l'ordi me dit que l'interface Unity ne peut pas être pris en compte avec ma config actuelle, je valide et je n'ai plus les effets visuels. L'avantage, c'est que je n'ai plus de problèmes de freeze.

Euh.. Alors là c'est vraiment bizarre.. Tu utilises 3 CG ? Ça m'étonnerait mais bon.. Et tu as 3 écrans ? Ça m'étonnerait également...

Edit : mets les xorg.conf entre balise code stp ^^

Ben en effet, je n'utilise qu'une CG et un écran. En désinstallant le pilote ATI (utilisation du pilote Radeon de base) et en redémarrant, j'ai à nouveau mes effets.
Visiblement, je dois donc choisir entre des effets sympa mais des blocages ou aucun effets mais pas de problèmes de blocage...

Est-ce que le problème pourrait venir d'un conflit entre ma CG et Unity ?

En générant le xorg.conf on a pu voir que ton ordinateur utilisait à la fois les pilotes radeon, fbdev et vesa.. Ton xorg.conf est toujours le même depuis que tu utilises les pilotes propriétaires ? Si oui, ouvre un terminal et tape : 

sudo aticonfig --initial -f

Redémarre et vois c'que ça donne.. Si ça ne marche pas on verra pour supprimer les drivers fbdev et vesa !

Euh c'est vrai qu'il y a eu des problèmes entre les drivers ATI et Unity mais bon je ne pense pas que ça vienne de là vu que tu as réussi à avoir un système stable (mais sans effet (ce qui est dû à un conflit entre le driver libre et propriétaire soit dit en passant)) uniquement en tripotant les drivers ^^

Je tente la commande et je te dis ce que ça donne.

Edit : j'ai donc tenté avec les pilotes propriétaires ATI : voilà ce que la commande me renvoit :

Uninitialised file found, configuring.

Je redémarre et je vois si ça fonctionne

Après redémarrage, j'obtiens un écran en ligne de commandes. J'ai tappé :

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Puis j'ai rebooté pour voir si mon xorg.conf se rechargeait : aucun changement.

En tapant cette commande tu as tout bonnement supprimé ton xorg.conf ^^

Edit : tu avais exactement le même problème qui est expliqué ici : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … 1#p4255641 lorsque tu avais ton driver propriétaire ATI d'installé ! Donc remets le et essaye de suivre les commandes indiquées ?
