Resolution 640x480

Hello à tous,


Voilà, je viens d'installer ubuntu, il est désormais le seul et unique OS présent sur mon pc.
J'ai un petit problème de résolution écran, il m'est impossible de changer, ( je ne peux sortir du 640x480 ), j'ai lu le tutorial à ce sujet mais étant débutante dans l'univers linux, je n'ai pas compris grand chose.

Pourriez vous m'expliquer facilement la marche à suivre pour établir une resolution correcte ?
( je peux etre en 1240x480 ),

Pour information, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 doit normalement gerer l'affichage, mon écran est de marque HP, modèle HP vs17x

Aidez une petite débutante s'il vous plait:(

Tu devrais regarder au niveau de ton xorg.conf se trouvant /etc/X11/xorg.conf. N'utilisant que des cartes nvidia, je ne saurais plus t'aider, mais perso, j'ai rajouté la résolution en rajoutant ce que j voulais dans ce fichier. Cherch les 640x480 et rajoute 1240x1080 sur la meme ligne avec la meme syntaxe. Et redémarre ton serveur graphique.

Premièrement, copie ton xorg.conf
Pour l'avoir , fais 

gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

.
colle le ici

As tu installé les drivers propriétaires d'ATI?
As tu été voir http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati?
Je viens d'y jeter un oeil et ça m'a l'air pas mal...

Sinon, je te dirais de changer de matériel pour une carte nvidia ;-)))

Tout nouveau chez Linux, j'ai installé avec synaptic l'acrobat reader, mais je ne reussis toujours pas a avoir le plugin dans firefox!!! J'ai déjà regardé le forum et j'ai déjà tout essayé, mais je ne reussis toujours pas à faire fonctionner acrobat sous firefox.

Bon je vous explique mon cas, j'ai exactement les memes soucis que la madame en pire.
J'ai fait un peu d'informatique a la fac (unix et cie, ada), donc j'arrive a comprendre un peu le monde de linxu de loin, mais j'avoue m'y perdre.
Je suis à l'étranger, et vu que mon PC me petait grave les couilles avec Windows, je me suis dit " allez zou on tente linux".
J'ai un 17 pouces NX9420.
Mon pote qui avait un T42 m'a dit " tinkiete! il reconnait tout".

Un petit copié collé de mon xorg.conf( que j'ai sauvegardé), avec la modification de la résolution.
Par contre quad je vois le nom de la carte graphique j'ai envie de me flinguer..

Désolé y a pas la fin :
Donc j'ai ajouté ma résolution mais rien  n'y fait.
Et quand je tape : gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf, il me tmet " autentification rejected, reason : none of the autentif protocols specified are supporter and host based authentification failed.
Wow..
Linux ça devait etre simple mais apparemment c'est pas pour aujourd'hui hihi...

@ Tous, lorsque vous collez des kilomètres de lignes il faut utiliser les balises [ Code ].

@ yesser et Kolkata, on ne squatte pas les posts ouverts par un quelqu'un d'autre.

Il faut installer les drivers ATI.
C'est la croix et la bannière mais on peut y arriver (j'y suis arrivé, vous pouvez;))
Le wiki est très bien fait là-dessus.

Il manque dans le fichier cong deux lignes dans la section moniteur
Voir la docu http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/fix_problemes_resolution
J'avais le même probleme. C'est résolu.
