Problème de mise en veille toujours existant depuis installation de Blumblebee, donc j'ai du désactiver la mise en veille.
Pas top comme solution.

Non le problème de mise en veille est survenu à la suite de l'installation de Blumblebee.
Il y a également depuis un tout petit problème d'affichage à la mise en route, rien de très méchant

Hum, il y a 2/3 choses à tester dans ce cas.

1) Est-ce qu'une application utilisait optirun à ce moment ? A priori, il est impossible de mettre en veille dans ce cas.
2) Peut-être que le simple fait que le serveur X secondaire tourne suffit à provoquer ce problème. Dans ce cas, il faut régler STOP_SERVICE_ON_EXIT to Y.
3) Certains disent qu'ils ne peuvent pas mettre en veille si le driver nvidia est chargé, dans ce cas, rmmod nvidia avant de mettre en veille (ce qui nécessite que le serveur X secondaire soit éteint).

et puis au cas ou j'ai des souci je saurais sur qui taper en plus big_smile ...
(attention il peut par contre m'arriver d'etre très chiant et désagréable quand ça va pas ...
je préfère prévenir comme ça si je pete un plomb tu saura pourquoi et faudra pas m'en vouloir wink)

Personnellement, j'ai acheté un ordinateur sachant que Optimus poserais des soucis sous Ubuntu et Bumblebee n'était encore qu'à ses balbutiements, mais il faut avouer que le projet avance très rapidement et j'en profite pour remercier tout les développeurs qui ont travaillé et qui travaillent encore d'arrache-pied sur le projet!

Donc même si Bumblebee ne marchera probablement pas au moment ou tu l'achètera, il fonctionnera certainement après wink
(Et puis ASUS est une bonne marque, si on oublie les touches multimédia non-reconnues et le multitouch du touchpad qui ne peut être utilisé sans un patch du kernel)

T'as pas pensé à lancer bumblebee-bugreport par hasard ? (Peut-être que j'aurais du le préciser, je viens de voir que j'en parle même pas dans ce topic...) Ou bien récupéré le kern.log ?

Pour ce que j'en vois actuellement, la carte nvidia apparaît correctement, mais après, le log s'arrête brutalement...

non car effectvement tu n'en a jamais parlé par contre le kern.log je l'ai puisque c'est pas un live mais ma vrais install de la 11.10 que j'ai utilisé ...

Pas con en fait, comme c'était sur une vraie install, il te reste toujours tout ! Donc pas besoin d'y retourner.

D'ailleurs, tu dois pouvoir lancer le bugreport, bien que quelques informations seront erronées (toutes celles ayant trait au matériel), mais c'est toujours utile !

Sinon, pour ce que j'en vois là, tout va très bien, je mets donc en cause ton respect des procédures.

Tu me poste /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia s'il te plaît ?

Qui contient d'ailleurs un petit défaut à l'endroit critique (balises code manquantes), mais qui ne justifie pas ton oubli, et que je corrigerais quand tu auras pu vérifier que je n'ai pas édité mon message depuis un moment, et avant que tu testes d'ailleurs (pour en plus juste retirer une ligne qui ne servais à rien).

Donc, je répète :
Avant de lancer Bumblebee sur la machine de test (et uniquement sur celle-ci, le résultat suivant dépendant du hardware), il vous faudra faire une modification (pour la détection du matériel).

lspci -d 10de: -n | grep '030[02]:' | cut -d' ' -f1 | tr . :

Et ensuite, copier le résulat ici :

sudo gedit /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia

c'est un service donc il démarre tout seul au démarrage !? c'est pas plutot "avant de lancer optirun" ?
ou alors ça suppose qu'il faut que je face la modification et que je reboot après pour quelle soit appliquée ?

certes wink ... bon en tous cass pour revenir à cet oubli à la noix c'est vrais qu'on a beau avoir beaucoup discuté sur IRC et ici
bah jamais tu m'avais dit d'y preter attention et en plus c'est vrais que comme il manquait la balise code ça ressortait pas assez
enfin tant pis c'est pas grave de toutes façon suis plus à ça près ... donc la suite au prochain épisode ...
me reste plus qu'à tester ma résistance à l'impatience jusqu'à mardi ...

j'ai relu 2 fois ton post initial ici et je n'ai rien vu par rapport à cette histoire
alors que moi c'etait évidemment sur celui ci que je me basais ...
donc bon me dire que mon oublie est injustifié ... sad ... enfin ...
je vais arrêter de penser à cette histoire jusqu'à mardi matin

Parce que c'est seulement nécessaire si on installe Bumblebee sur une autre machine que celle qui va l'utiliser. Cela dit, je vais mettre à jour le post initial dimanche, avec la release de la nouvelle version.

Salut à tous,
on demande le matériel du portable:

c'est un Asus X53S
CPU intel core i7-2630QM 2GHz
4Go de RAM
et surtout: carte graphique geforce GT540M 2Go

Bumblebee fonctionne bien, tout mes logiciels qui le nécessite tournent à merveille.

une astuce pour ceux qui n'y ont pas pensé: au lieu de vous embêter a lancer dans un terminal, faites des script bash wink c'est très pratique, juste un clic et le logiciel est lancé. bref...

Alors...

1) Le premier retourne exactement la même erreur, sauf qu'elle n'est pas affichée dans ton terminal, car c'est bumblebee qui te l'affiche ici.

2) Cela signifie que Bumblebee est fonctionnel sur ta machine. Pour ce qui est des perfs nVidia/vs Intel, il faut prendre en considération plusieurs choses:
- plus la carte est récente, moins les drivers nVidia ne sont optimisés pour, donc petite baisse de performance
- VirtualGL est censé limité le nombre d'images générées pour éviter les calculs inutiles. Cependant, on a pas encore très bien compris comment ça marche, et des fois il le fait, des fois non. Une des feature prévues est l'option --benchmark qui activera les options correspondantes de VirtualGL.
