Pb installation drivers ATI sur portable avec Radeon Xpress200M

Bonjour à tous !

J'ai installé ubuntu draper ce matin à côté de mon windows sur mon portable HP Pavilion dv5053ea et j'ai voulu installer les drivers d'ATI pour profiter de XGL (j'ai flashé sur les éffets de transparence/3D lol:lol::lol:).

Pb : impossible soit de démarrer X, soit de les installer.

Alors j'ai commencé par faire une installation automatique avec la dernière version (8.25). Bon installation ok, je redémarre ubuntu, pouf, écran noir. Je redémarre en safe mode et remplace le nouveau xorg.conf par la sauvegarde faite par l'installer d'ati.
j'essaye en suivant les tutos trouvés sur le net (les paquets xorg-fglrx et cie). je reboot, idem.
en lisant le tutorial sur le wifi (celui en anglais), je m'apperçoit qu'il me faut la version 8.24 si je veux que ça marche neutral
je télécharge donc la 8.24, et l'install. Bah non. Au lancement ça dit dans la console :

Ok, mais sauf que je pige pas comment spécifier la version de X hmm En cherchant un peu sur le net (et en ne trouvant quasiment rien du tout), je trouve un fil de discussion sur lequel un type dit qu'il faut essayer avec la version 32bits. Soit... Et voilà le résultat :

bon, c'est la dernière fois que je maj ce topic (cette fois de manière intéressante). si personne ne me répond suite à ça, je laisse tomber.

j me suis dis que les contenus des fichiers de config et du log vous intéresseraient...

j'ai essayé d'installer les drivers en suivant le tuto dans la doc sur ce site même. j'ai pas pu faire toutes les étapes, libdri.a n'étant pas présent sur le ddur (amd64)...

a noter que j'ai modifié le xorg.conf. avant de le faire, le device non commencé avec #, il y avait marqué ati à la place de glrx, le device qui suit n'était pas commenté, idem pour screen et monitor.
en gros j'avais device, screen et monitor en double.

de plus, quand j'ai installé les .deb (comme expliqué dans le tutos), au niveau de module-assistant, il m'a sorti une erreur à propos de kernel-source à propos d'un dossier qui n'existe pas (/usr/src/modules si je me souviens bien).

sinon je crois que c'est tout (à par que fglrx-controle s'est maj après lol).

Si quelqu'un a une idée de comment je dois procéder pour régler tous ces pb... Merci d'avance.

Déplace ta section Section "ServerLayout" à la fin du fichier avant la section DRI

J'ai fais ce que tu m'as dit, mais ça disait qu'il ne trouvait pas Default Layout en identifier :

Je l'ai alors remplacé par aticonfig-screen[0], mais cette fois, ça disait qu'il trouvait pas de screen.

Et au redémarrage, j'ai alors remplacé Screen "aticonfig-Screen[0]" par Screen         "default screen". je fais startx, je vois pdt 1/10eme de secondes mon fond d'écran puis finalement écran noir.

bonne nouvelle, après les modifications, X redémarre normalement.

mais quand je fais glrxinfo j'obtiens ça dans la console :
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual!

idem pour glxgears :
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

Par contre, tout juste après le redémarrage, j'ai plein de maj au niveau du kernel linux-restricted, glx, etc... J'imagine que c'est un hasard ^^

Ce faux espoir que j'ai eut... sad

au redémarrage du portable, la même chose qu'avant. ubuntu se charge, puis là X doit se lancer et non, écran noir.

Je pense qu'il faudrait que je trouve quelqu'un qui a réussi à installer les drivers ati sur un HP pavilion de la série dv5000. parce que là sérieux je vois pas...

dans le log d'xorg, j'ai trouvé ça en plus de ce que j'ai mis dans mon poste juste au dessus :

/dev/wacom est un périphérique qui correspond à une tablette graphique (rien à voir avec le touchpas hein), donc si tu n'as pas de tablette graphique, les erreurs consernant /dev/wacom sont sans effets.

Edit :
En cherchant "Xpress 200M dapper" sous google, j'ai trouvé le xorg.conf d'un personne utilisant un ATI Xpress 200M qui ne semble pas avoir de problème.
Le fichier xorg.conf (sauvegarde le tien)

Par contre pour l'aide, je ne pourrait pas faire plus, j'ai du NVidia.

Si on ne répond pas, c'est peut être par ce que l'on ne sais pas (même si 4 jour ça fait long)
Si c'est pour utiliser XGL, tu risque de déchanter, c'est encore en cour de dévellopement alors pas forcement super stable/débuggué.

Bonsoir,
pour ce qui le concerne, j'ai une installation en 32 bit sur mon amd 64; les drivers d'ATI n'ayant jamais fonctionnés chez moi en 64 bit (Hoary et Breezy) pour la 3D.

Regarde si quelqu'un a réussi dans les post du forum pour l'architecture 64 bits.

Bref, merci pour le xorg, je vais tenter smile

Pour XGL, je sais que c'est pas encore stable (la fin de l'année m'a-t-on dit), mais j'ai quand même envie d'essayer smile je suis pas mal persévérante généralement (1semaine que je bosse sur ces fichus drivers lol).

Organon > je pense que c'est ce que je vais faire hmm mais je vais quand même essayer.

alors je me demandais, as tu fini par réussir??

Pareil pour moi une ati 128 Xpress 200 M dans un portable Pavilion dv5000 (amd64) 5142 précisement ! Et j'ai testé au moins 10 tuto résultat => 10 réinstallation de ubuntu (enfin à la fin je réinstallais le xorg pour que tout remarche) mais bon j'ai trouvé qu'un seul tuto hyper long et compliqué sur le fonctionnement et j'ai eu beau le suivre à la lettre ça n'a jamais voulu marcher sad

C'est désespérant...

Si quelqu'un connait une bonne méthode ça serait sympa de la poster !
