nvidia 6150 en VGA sous ubuntu!

Bonjour,

Bon, jusque la, j'ai réussi grace a ce site et aux nombreuses
HOWTO a installer Dapper, migrer sous Edgy, installer Beryl,
des codecs videos, bref, le bonheur total...
...jusqu'a ce que, pour une raison qui m'échappe, Ubuntu ne se lance
plus qu'en VGA (640x480)... Cela marchait pourtant en 1152x864 jusqu'a
aujourd'hui.
J'ai essayé Envy, ecran noir... panique
Envy a nouveau pour faire uninstall, puis install, et me revoila, tapant mon message
d'au secours, en VGA.

Config: nvidia 6150

Que faire pour revenir a ma config qui marche sous Ubuntu ?

Bonjour

Ce genre de souci peut provenir d'un changement (nouvelle version) du kernel et à ce moment là l'installation des restricted-modules pour nvidia ne se fait pas automatiquement. Vérifiez avec synaptic que les versions kernel et restricted concordent.
en lisant dmesg en console on pourra le savoir, c'est à la fin.

je n'ai jamais utilisé envy.

il faudrait poster le fichier log (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) de xorg (quand il y a écran noir)  et le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf  lui même pour en savoir plus.

Si vous n'arrivez pas à choper le fichier log quand çà plante (il faut utiliser les commandes console) j'ai vu qu'il y avait un autre fichier : Xorg.0.log.old .

Apres avoir disparu tout seul (?), le probleme est reven(je suis a nouveau en 640x480).

je ne suis pas un expert du fichier log, mais on voit bien que les modes ne sont pas acceptés et qu'il retourne le 640x480 comme défaut.

c'est intéressant, on ne peut pas utiliser les edid du crt, j'ai eu çà aussi, voici ce que j'ai ajouter à la section monitor dans xorg.conf  :

Essayez d'abord en ajoutant les 3 options concernant les edid , puis il serait judicieux que vous obteniez vos valeurs de fréquence (horiz et vert) de votre écran (docs, internet) , H c'est en kHz et V en Hz. On les inscrit à la section monitor comme ci-dessus.

relancez la session graphique : ctl + alt +retour charriot

Dernière idée au cas où : c'est d'ajouter dans la section monitor la sortie de "gtf 1152 864 85"  où 85 est la fréquence de rafraichissement, cela peut etre moins ou plus selon votre écran à cette résolution (voir docs). Je vous renvoie dans le wiki à la page des résolutions  : gtf et modelines à  la fin :
