Xorg + Intel 82845G = Ecran noir

Bonjour tout le monde!!

Eh bien voila pour mon premier post sur ce forums je dois vous avouer que ce n'est pas la joie

Ce la fait 2 fois que j'installe ma ubuntu 7.04. 2 fois pour trouver le même résultat : dés que je touche au fichier xorg.conf et que je relance le server X je me retrouve avec un écran noir...

Bien entendu toute l'installation se passe a merveille en mode graphique sans aucun paramêtre supplémentaire mais la résolution reste en 640 par 480. Une fois l'installation terminée, premier boot ---> x se lance trés bien et gnome aussi. mais toujrous une résolution en 640 par 480.

Je décide donc de configurer ma carte Intel extreme Graphic 82845G sur mon portable (un géricom Hummer 2460e). Bien entendu avant de toucher au xorg.conf je fais une sauvegrade en xorg.conf.bak. Une fois le fichier modifié je relance le serveur X (ctrl + alt + backspace) et je me retrouve avec un écran noir. Détail qui a son importance : si je remet le fichier d'origine xorg.conf.bak en xorg.conf qui était le fichier d'origine marchant en 640X480, je me retrouve encore et toujours avec cet écran noir !

J'ai essayé avec les driver i810 et Intel a partir du package xserver-xorg-video-i810 xserver-xorg-video-Intel maisrien n'y fais. Je ne suis pas sur ma machine la donc je ne peux pas vous fournir  le log de x ni ma configuration détaillé. je la posterai dici 20h00.

J'ai auparavant installé par 2 fois une debian etch qui me faisait le même problème. En attendant ma configuration détaillé est-ce que quelqu'un aurait deja une idée ??

Bon alors il y a du mieux...

Pour ceux qui auraient remplacé le driver i810 par le "Intel", C'est mort ca ne marche pas. Il s'agit de laisser le pilote i810, du moins pour le chipset 82845G. Néanmoins j'ai toujours une résolution en 640x480.

Mais j'ai vu des solutions telles que 915resolution donc je vais concentrer mes recherches ladessus.

J'ai aussi vu que la résolution 1024x768 marchait avec le pilote vesa mais que l'accélration 3d n'était pas supportée...
Si quelqu'un a des infos supplémentaire a ce sujet

salut , je viens de lire ton message.
En fait j'ai le même probleme que toi des que j'essaie de configurer ma carte graphique.
Ben j'ai reussi à avoir une resolution graphiqe 1024x768 avec le driver "vesa".
Des que j'essaie de changer le driver en intel ou i810 mon ecran devient tout noir et j'entend les tambours.
Mais comme je veux installer beryl "vesa" ne convient pas et je ne comprend pas pourquoi ma carte intel 82845G n'est pas reconnu automatiquement dans le xorg.conf.Et changer manuellement le fichier me conduit à l'ecran noir.
Essaie de changer manuellement ton fichier xorg.conf en introduisant les résolution 1024x768 c'est ce que j'avais fais et ca à marcher.
Ben je t'envoi mon xorg.conf qui pourra peut etre t'aider.
Et si tu as une idée sur comment activer l'acceleration graphique avec "vesa"ou configurer xorg.conf avec "i810" sans avoir un ecran noir n'hesite pas de me les donner .Merci

Merci a toi pour ta réponse et ta contribution et désolé de ne pas avoir répondu plutot.

Le fait est, pour moi, que le problème est résolu. Il a fallu spécifier les fréquences d'affichage manuellement dans mon xorg.conf. (cf mon nouveau xorg.conf plus bas).

Le driver utilisé est i810 avec mon chipset intel 82845G et non le driver vesa qui ne contient pas de support d'accélération 3d ,du moins pas a ma connaissance.

Une fois mon affichage obtenu en 1024X768, les couleurs s'affichaient mal sur mon écran avec des "plateaux" (comme si j'étais en 16 bits au lieu de 32) La encore j'ai lu sur un forum que l'affichage 32bits sous windows n'était en réalité qu'un affichage 24bits sous linux.mon affichage par défaut étant sur 24bits avec ce défaut de couleur je n'ai eu qu'a spécifier un affichage en 24bits par défaut pour obtenir un affichage optimal.

Voila mon xorg qui sera surement plus explicite que mon explication a 2 balles
