Mettre a jour pilote carte graphique

Bonjour

Je change de carte video ,( je desactive la carte video intégrée ) pour installer une ATI readon HD3450.
Ma question est; Comment mettre a jour le pilote de cette carte .

Salut,

Des pilotes libres pour la plupart des cartes graphiques (Intel, Nvidia, ATI, Via) sont installés par défaut sous Ubuntu. Normalement, tu n'as qu'à éteindre ton PC, changer la carte, puis redémarrer ton PC, et la nouvelle carte devrait être reconnue, et utiliser le pilote libre radeon.

Ensuite, tu pourras aller dans Paramètres système --> Pilotes additionnels pour voir si le pilote propriétaire est disponible.

Pensez à consulter la documentation ! :-)

Oui, c'est vrai, j'avoue ça n'a pas été mon premier reflexe sad , et puis n'ayant pas de reponse, j'ai fouillé dans la documentation. très riche, certe.
Mais il faut avoir, deja une bonne culture Linux pour ne pas ce noyer dans tous les termes techniques ( vocabulaire en autre )
conclusion c'est difficile pour un novice

Si tu as Ubuntu 12.04 avec Unity 3D, alors tu as "Paramètres système --> Pilotes additionnels ".

Tu cliques sur la roue crantée en haut et à droite de l'écran. Puis sur Paramètres système et enfin sur Pilotes additionnels.

j'ai Quetzal soit il me semble UBUNTU 12.10 v x32bits
et y'a que par source de logiciel onglet diu bout que j'obtiens pilotes additionels mais peu importe la façon, le problême reste entier je peux pas intervenir dessus car tout y est grisé

Tu comprends pourquoi il vaut mieux dire quelle est ta version d'Ubuntu même si on ne te le demande pas?

Ouvre un terminal et lance la commande:

lsb_release -d

pour connaître la version d'Ubuntu.

uname -a

pour savoir s'il est en 32 ou en 64 bits.

Et la commande:

lspci

pour connaître la carte graphique.

Donne le retour complet (de la commande en elle-même jusqu'au retour au prompt) de ces trois commandes.

Sous Ubuntu 12.10, pour activer les pilotes propriétaires, c'est dans Paramètres système, Sources de logiciels, onglet Pilotes additionnels.

Ouais c'est ça mais pourquoi n'y a t'il qu'un pilote décrit dedans et qui reste innaccessible
Sans parler du fait d'essayer d'en rajouter un ou d'en activer un autre
Je viens d'en télécharger un chez AMD dédié à Linux mais je sais pas quoi en faire

ah non c'est vrai qu'il faut d'abord déposer l'image sur un site ou ch'sais pas quoi et c'est pas si simple que vous semblez le dire
J'avais trouvé un tuto que j'ai pas réussi à suivre jusqu'au bout à cause de liens morts du coup j'ai laissé tombé
Y'a pas moyen de joindre un fichier comme dans une boite mail?

C'est fait
c'était un problème de balises entrecroisées, je crois...

et en fait au début la coche était dans la case du bas dans la partie grisée, c'est moi qui l'aiplacée au milieu mais n'étant pas sur du résultat j'ai pas oser le redémarrage et de toute façons la case appliquer les changements reste aussi grisée

A priori, et si c'est une carte récente,  il faut le dernier Catalyst pour ubuntu 12.10, pilote sorti cette semaine à savoir le 13.1

Intersil Corporation: ISL 3886 [Prism Javelin/Prism Xbow], je ne sais pas ce que c'est mais je pense que c'est une carte réseau.

Pour ta carte graphique ATI readon HD3450, essaie ceci:

Ouvre un terminal et lance la commande:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

Puis la commande:

sudo apt-get update

Redémarre le PC puis va voir dans Pilotes additionnels s'il n'y a pas des pilotes propriétaires proposés. Si oui, active-les.

Tu devrais quand même supprimer ce PPA:

Puisqu'il ne fonctionne pas.

et voilà ce que j'ai dans les pilotes additionnels après la MàJ:

Y'a rien de changé toujours ce pilote que je connais pas, aucun pilote graphique, ni aucun autre d'aucune sorte...
Perso je trouve ça bien bizarre, d'autant que tout semble marcher, pour l'instant...
En fait c'est plus de la prévoyance qui me fait chercher ce genre de réponse au cas ou ma 3D ne marche pas ou autre plantage éventuels, j'ai tellement l'habitude de faire des MàJ de pilotes (à cause de Windows bien sûr) que je me suis de suite penché sur le sujet.

J'ai confondu avec la carte graphique et l'Ubuntu de cpasimple.

Il me semble avoir lu quelque part que les ATI Radeon HD 2xxx, 3xxx et 4xxx ne sont plus supportées sous Ubuntu 12.10. Donc, plus de pilotes propriétaires graphiques ATI.

réédite : A ne surtout pas faire sous quantal !! version de X incompatible voir lien plus bas

Tu ouvres un teminal et tu télécharges les pilotes :

wget http://www2.ati.com/drivers/legacy/12-6/amd-driver-installer-12.6-legacy-x86.x86_64.zip

après tu dézipes :

unzip amd-driver-installer-12.6-legacy-x86.x86_64.zip

tu installes :

sudo sh amd-driver-installer-12.6-legacy-x86.x86_64.run

et quand c'est finit tu redémarres !!

NB: à tes risques et périls !! je me dégage de toutes responsabilités en cas d'écran noir lol ,d'ailleurs je t'ai fait parvenir par mail la décharge, à faire signer en 3 exemplaires, par tes parents ...

DOMMAGE ils ne sont plus de ce monde mais qui sait en priant bien fort....
à moins que ce soit: en CRIANT bien fort, je ne sais plus, je ne sais pas...
Sinon, merci pour le tuto mais; vu le GROSSO plantage auquel j'ai eu affaire cet après-midi, je vais peut-être attendre un poil avant d'essayer ça, en plus il paraitrai que les pilotes proprio Catalyst ne "collent" pas avec QUETZAL, donc...
Mais merci quand même pour tout ce temps que tu/vous m'avez accordé.
On m'a aussi conseillé de downgrader en 12.04, je vais voir.
Sinon comme je l'ai dit dans une autre discussion, pour mes GROS jeux et mon boulôt (CAO/DAO 2&3D) je peux toujours retourner sous Windows comme vous dites si bien...

Je ne vais pas te conseiller de retourner sous Windows mais seulement de réfléchir à ceci: pourquoi ai-je un dualboot Windows/Ubuntu?

Réponse: pour faire tourner tous les logiciels que je désire.

Mais attention: que se soit sous Windows ou sous Ubuntu, tout mon matériel est reconnu. Ce qui est une bonne base sous n'importe quel O.S.

NON NON, tu te gourres pas du tout, c'est juste le meilleur moyen d'être obligé de tout réinstaller comme ça m'est juste arrivé cet aprem.
C'est pour ça que je vais tout laisser comme ça et faire mes trucs en 3D (jeux & boulot) sous Windows qui lui reconnaît trés bien ma carte et ses différentes capacités liées au pilote Catalyst qui est dedans (et qui ne veut pas apparaître sous Quetzal) et puis VOILA.
Dommage quand même....

Débutant mais curieux, et furieusement convaincu que: "Rien n'est vrai, tout est possible"...

Pour Windows, continue comme ça. C'est tout bon. Quoiqu'en dise certains, Windows (à partir de Windows 2000 et en utilisant le formatage de la partition de Windows en NTFS) est tout-à-fait stable et valable.

Pour Ubuntu, installe la version 12.04. Je sais, je me répète. Mais je suis quasi sûr qu'Ubuntu 12.04 saura faire fonctionner ta carte graphique avec les pilotes propriétaires AMD/ATI (et pas sûr mais pratiquement certain que se seront ceux des dépôts officiels).

Maintenant, c'est ton PC et tes attentes. Tu en fait ce que tu désires concernant l'O.S ou les O.S.
