Double boot Windows8 Ubuntu-Retour d'experience
Ce post expose mon retour d'expérience sur l'installation réussie W8/Ubuntu en double boot et en mode UEFI sur le PC Desktop acheté récemment.
Il s'agit d'un PC monté par un assembleur ayant les caractéristiques suivantes:
- carte mère Gigabyte Z77-D3H
- processeur Intel core I5
- RAM 8 Go
- Disque dur 1,5 To
- carte video GTX660
- lecteur/graveur CD/DVD...
Méthode d'installation: (je passe sur tous les problèmes que j'ai rencontré, problèmes qui pour la pluspart ont trouvé une solution grace aux "Ubunteros" du forum)
1°) Réglage de la carte mère (menu Boot Features) en mode UEFI Only. Il n'y a pas de Secure Boot.
2°) Création d'une table de partition GPT avec le live CD GParted démarré en mode UEFI.
3°) Installation de W8 avec le DVD OEM acheté avec le PC. Ce DVD démarre en mode UEFI et W8 s'installe sur tout le disque dur. A l'issue de cette installation W8 voit 3 partitions alors que GParted en voit 4 qui sont:
sda1 NTFS Recuperation
sda2 fat32 Boot (système EFI)
sda3 inconnu (c'est cette partition qui n'est pas vue par W8)
sda4 NTFS partition système W8
W8 est parfaitement fonctionnel.
4°) Avec les outils de W8, réduction de la partition sda4 (c'est à dire C: que j'ai nommé W8), création d'une partition sda5 NTFS (c'est à dire D: que j'ai nommé DataWinUx) pour les données qui seront communes à W8 et Ubuntu et enfin une partie non allouée pour l'installation de Ubuntu en fin de disque dur.
W8 est toujours parfaitement fonctionnel.
5°) Avec le live CD GParted, création des partitions pour Ubuntu dans la partie du disque dur non allouée:
sda6 ext4 /
sda7 swap
sda8 ext4 /home
6°) Installation de Ubuntu 13.04-64 bit version internationale qui gère l'UEFI (c'est-à-dire Ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso). L'installation est faite en mode manuel (dernière proposition du menu d'installation) en tenant compte des partitions déjà créées ( point 5°) et en veillant à installer Grub dans la partition sda2 (Boot EFI).
Remarque: le montage des partitions windows existantes échoue. Ce problème a été réglé par la suite en désactivant le démarrage rapide et l'hibernation de W8.
7°) Après redémarrage c'est W8 qui se lance.
8°) Utilisation de Boot Repair du DVD Linux-Secure-13.04-64bits. Cela a exigé de paramétrer la carte mère (menu Boot Features) en mode UEFI and LEGACY car mon DVD Linux-Secure ne démarre pas en mode UEFI. La réparation générique est faite suivie de l'édition d'un rapport de boot visible à l'adresse: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6171633/
9°) Paramétrage de la carte mère (menu Boot Features) en mode UEFI Only pour pouvoir redémarrer dans ce mode. La seule proposition mentionnée dans le menu Boot Features de la carte mère est Windows Boot Manager. Son exécution permet d'accéder à un "menu d'amorçage" où figurent notamment Ubuntu et W8.
Le double boot est alors parfaitement fonctionnel.
Remarque: je pense que Windows Boot Manager est un micrologiciel faisant partie du firmware de la carte mère; il permet d'accéder aux fichiers .EFI de la partition de boot sda2, fichiers qui gèrent l'amorçage des OS installés; son nom est trompeur car il fait penser à W8.
10°) Mise à niveau de W8 vers W8.1
Après redémarrage, je n'ai plus accès au "menu d'amorçage"; c'est seulement W8.1 qui se lance. L'examen du menu Boot Features de la carte mère montre que c'est toujours Windows Boot Manager qui intervient. Un nouveau rapport de boot, visible à l'adresse http://paste.ubuntu.com/6300330/, semble montrer qu'il n'y a pas eu de modifications dans les "Boot Files" du rapport de boot précédent.
11°) Pour rétablir le double boot, j'ai procédé de la manière suivante:
- déactivation de Windows Boot Manager dans le menu Boot Features de la carte mère et sauvegarde de cette modification.
- redémarrage et accès au menu de la carte mère permettant le choix d'un ordre de boot (menu Boot Order).
- Windows Boot Manager est le seul choix proposé.
- validation de ce choix.
- la procédure de démarrage se poursuit et finalement le "menu d'amorçage" des OS s'affiche.
Le double boot est à nouveau parfaitement fonctionnel.
Remarque: pour faire le point, j'ai édité un 3ème rapport de boot visible à l'adresse: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6320715/
Il ne semble pas y avoir de modifications à propos des "Boot Files" en comparant avec les rapports de boot précédents.
Que s'est-il passé ? Windows Boot Manager s'est-il réinitialisé pour pointer sur le 1er fichier EFI valide, en l'occurence celui de Grub ?

Ce que tu désignes par le "menu d'amorçage" des OS, est-ce un menu qui contient ces lignes (ce serait alors le menu Grub) :

Ou bien si c'est autre chose, peux-tu prendre une photo de ce "menu d'amorçage" et la poster ici (pour ce faire, voir balise image ici)?

C'est bien ce que tu as indiqué; ce que j'ai appelé "menu d'amorçage" est le menu Grub donc.

Ce qui signifierait que tu n'as qu'une seule entrée de Boot dans ton UEFI (c'est d'ailleurs ce que tu as constaté toi-même : "Windows Boot Manager est le seul choix proposé").
Tu pourrais ajouter une entrée "ubuntu" en plus de l'entrée actuelle "Windows Boot Manager" de la façon suivante : depuis ta session du Ubuntu installé, tu passes cette commande dans un terminal :
sudo grub-install

Grub progresse et Ubuntu en profite : à présent, la dernière version de Ubuntu (Ubuntu 13.10) ne nécessite plus Boot-Repair. J'ai fait l'essai dans cette discussion : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1395271
Toi avec Ubuntu 13.04 (version précédente), tu étais obligé d'utiliser Boot-Repair si tu voulais pouvoir démarrer Windows en passant par le menu Grub.

La méthode Accéder à Ubuntu à partir de W8 fonctionne. Dans l'écran "Choisir une option", j'ai bien l'option "Utiliser un périphérique"; puis l'exécution de cette option aboutit à la proposition "Ubuntu". En validant Ubuntu démarre directement.
Je reviens également sur mon post #7;
Actuellement j'ai 2 options de boot présentées comme suit dans le menu Boot Features de la carte mère:
Boot option #1 Ubuntu
Boot option #2 Windows Boot manager
Si au démarrage, dans le menu Boot Order de la carte mère, je choisis Ubuntu j'obtiens le menu Grub; si je choisis Windows Boot Manager c'est W8.1 qui se lance; dans ce dernier cas je n'obtiens plus le menu Grub, comme c'était le cas auparavant; cela ne me gène pas du tout.
J'ai pris connaissance de ton post #11. Pour le moment je n'ai pas l'intention de passer à la version 13.10; j'ai un problème à régler avec l'affichage de l'interface Unity suite à l'installation de l'interface Cinnamon et sa mise à jour.

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi ça s'est modifié de la sorte, mais je suis d'accord avec toi que c'est mieux comme ça et c'est plus logique que le choix "Windows Boot Manager" démarre effectivement Windows...
