[Résolu] Impossible de lancer le recovery mode : l'écran se brouille

Bonjour à tous,

Suite à une mise à jour des paquets (notamment du noyau), je ne pouvais plus démarrer mon Linux Mint 17.3 (sdb6). Après m'être aperçu que la partition root était pleine, j'ai pu déplacer et agrandir ma partition root de Linux Mint.
J'ai procédé à la mise à jour des paquets. J'ai réparé le boot et le grub grâce à boot-repair et j'ai édité le bios de la machine (en indiquant le chemin UEFI) pour pouvoir redémarrer.

Tout semblait ok.

Mais lorsque je lance le « recovery mode » de Linux Mint 17.03 ou le Ubuntu 14.04 (sda5), mon écran se brouille alors que tout fonctionne parfaitement avec le mode standard de Linux Mint 17.3.

Salut,

Tu peux essayer ce qui suit. Dans un terminal passer la commande suivante :

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

Une fois Nano ouvert, ajouter la ligne :

GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=text

à la fin du fichier.
Sauvegarder le fichier et sortir de Nano.
Passer cette commande :

sudo update-grub

Redémarrer.

Quelques explications ici.

bonjour, je suis débutant et après commande du liveCD, la 1° installation est un échec.
J'ai installé Ubuntu sur un ssd vide après un [supprimer les volumes] et attribuer une lettre.
Tout s'est bien passé, je n'ai pas eu à chercher l'emplacement, l'instal. en apparence s'est bien déroulé sauf que je ne peut rebooter le SSD
Après téléchargement de boot-repair sur une bootin-windows-647, je me retrouve avec un écran doté d'une silhouette dans les bleus-gris, tout une procédure en anglais, un écran trop grand et un clavier obsolète.
Je pense réeffacer le SSD et recommencer l'installation car c'est quasi ingérable. j'ai écrit une liste d'instruction mais il semblerais que c'est le partitionnement automatique et en particulier le dossier EXT4. le disque se présente en 3 part. 64.14 Go, 51.11, et 4Go pour le swat.

Malheureusement, cela ne change rien... Et, si j'ai bien compris le bug que tu soulevais dans l'autre file se manifestait également en mode « normal ».

Pour rappel, le Linux Mint 17.03 démarre normalement avec les noyaux 4.4.0-124 et 3.13.0-147 (j'espère ne pas écrire l’ânerie !).

En fait, pour le 2nd Linux un Ubuntu 14.04.4 avec les noyaux 3.13.0-30 et -32, il faut être patient. L'écran de démarrage est brouillé mais le système démarre et est utilisable. Avec le noyaux 3.13.0-29, ça bloque mais ce blocage existait peut être déjà avant.

Ce sont les modes recovery qui ne se lancent pas correctement.

On y voit que le paramètre du noyau nomodeset est utilisé quand tu sélectionnes le mode Recovery. C'est tout à fait normal : ce paramètre est toujours sélectionné quand on choisit de démarrer en mode recovery. Oui mais ton ordi n'aime pas ce paramètre et je suppose que c'est pour ça que tu as un affichage brouillé.
Ce que tu peux tenter, c'est de sélectionner la ligne "Linux Mint 17.3 Xfce 64-bit, with Linux 4.4.0-124-generic (recovery mode)" mais ne pas valider ce choix par la touche Entrée. Au lieu de ça, tu presses la touche E afin d'éditer cette entrée. Tu te places sur la lettre "n" de nomodeset en te déplaçant avec les flèches et tu supprimes toutes les lettres de nomodeset pour que ce paramètre disparaisse et ne soit plus pris en compte. Puis tu valides cette config en pressant la touche F10.

Ton idée est bonne... en faisant cette manip., l'écran se brouille un court moment au lancement et tout rentre dans l'ordre rapidement.

C'est une solution mais cela n'explique pas pourquoi je n'avais pas ce type de comportement avant aujourd'hui.
Aurai-je modifié dans le BIOS un réglage qui a provoqué cela ?

Bonjour,

Au sein du BIOS (EliteBook HP), 3 modes de démarrage sont proposés :
+ Ancien
+ UEFI Hybride (avec CSM)
+ UEFI natif (sans CSM)

Avant de redimensionner ma partition et d'utiliser boot-repair, j'étais en « Ancien » puis je suis passé en « UEFI natif (sans CSM) » pour notamment indiqué le chemin du fichier .efi.

En fait, mon souci disparaît quand je passe dans le mode « UEFI Hybride (avec CSM) ».

Je ne comprends absolument pas la différence entre ces 2 modes. Si qqn en sait plus... je prends l'info.

Je ne connaissais pas ces détails, mais la page de Wikipédia sur l'UEFI explique, un peu, ce qu'est CSM et son utilité.

L'article nous apprends que ce mode assure une certaine compatibilité avec les gestions anciennes de démarrage via le BIOS. Bref, c'est mieux pour moi...

Je viens de découvrir un nouveau souci, avec mes VMs sous virtualbox. C'est ici : Virtualbox : les VMs ne démarrent plus après màj de la machine hôte.
